IslamNigeria Muslim Sulaimon Isah Won Top Prize At International Quranic Competition. by Kazrem(op): 6:03am On Jul 26, 2014
Congrats to Isah.
At the 18th session of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) held on Friday 18th July 2014, a Nigerian male contestant Sulaiman Abdulkarim Isah won the top honour in the international Quran completion category of the award.
The award comes with a prize money of AED250,000 – which isequivalent to approximately N11 million. Isah beat out other contestants from Qatar, Kuwait, USA and Bangladesh.
Contestants who scored 80 percent and above were rewarded with AED30,000 each, while others who scored 70 to 79 percent, they received AED25,000 each.
According to UNMID, DIHQA is held every Ramadan under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammad. The
contest judges the best memorisers and reciters of the Quran from participating countries.

FAST 30 DAYS OF RAMADAN, 6 DAYS OF SHAWAL AND GET THE REWARD FOR A WHOLE YEAR FASTING. ISN'T THAT INCREDIBLE?

The Messenger of Allah, (saas), said:
"Whoever observes the Ramadan fast and follows it with six days of fast in Shawwal, it is as if he has fastedDahr (the whole year)." (Bukhari) It has been mentioned earlier thatDahr means the whole year. Possibly it may also mean forever, or for life.
Analyzing this hadith, our jurists (`Ulama) explained how according to this hadith, a Muslim who fasts during Ramadan every year and follows it with six days fast of Shawwal, will be credited for fasting a whole lifetime. The Jurists correctly said: a good deed (hasanah) is rewarded a minimum of ten times its equivalent. It follows, then, that one Ramadan is equivalent to ten months of fasting, and the clincher, six days, is equal to two months, (6x10=60). That undoubtedly completes the year's twelve months. Thus, we see the wisdom and the reason why the Prophet (saas) mentioned six days after Ramadan inShawwal, not five or seven.

maclatunji: Getting people to write about things that interest them hopefully on a consistent basis. Interested in writing?

Alternatively, for people to share their stories, if it is written, fine. If we have to use other media to get their stories, we will also work on it. However, we place a premium on the written word at the moment.

So, is Vedaxcool a writer or at least a potential one?
Am a potential writer though I write now as it is said that start now what you want to become in future. You can read some of my writings on kazrem. or my notes on Facebook. Username: Kazeem Abolore S. I will like to partake in it.

teimilawlar: pls i need ur hlp, is it still possible for me to graduate frm noun with a second class upper. presently,am in my 200lvl second semester of which i ought to be in 300lvl bt deliberately did not register last semester, hv done three semesters nd i hv five left.throughtout my first yr i failed 7courses out of 21 and in my 200lvl first semester i failed non bt with the look of things my gp may fall among third class(hv nt seen any of my result jst the one on my portal bt no grades are stated).pls wat will hv to be my target per semester to make it to 2.1.
N.B:i still hv 5 semesters left
There is no impossibity in life. I have had almost similar experience during my collegs days (though noun is different from college) and with the help of God and myself, the least A's I had in every semester was 7 and the remaining results were B's and I finally graduated with credit equivalent to 2.1 in Uni. What I will advice you to do as regards target is to have the goal of scoring A in all your courses. Seems impossible? If you think it is impossible, it shall be but if you think it possible, it shall also be. Talking from experience, the semester I had the goal of scoring A in my 15 courses, though I didn't but I had 7 A's, 7 B's and 1 C. Infact, there was a very diminutive lady, who actually motivated me, she had 14 A's in 15 courses. So, don't think its impossible. Its your belief that comes first in all your undertakings. There is more to learn, lest we distract others in this section, acknowledge the PM I sent you.

someone should say something please!!!
Sometimes, its nature of how you ask a question that determine if it will be answered or not. Asking "my chance of ...." may not be a good way, because in my own opinion, we are not admission officer who can tell you "your chance" of getting admitted. Now my advice, visit www.nou.edu.ng and see the requirements for law. Thereafter, you can ask question of what you don't understand.
