^^^I meant to say that people did not see anything wrong in various bodies even endorsing Obama before he was picked by his party.
Here is the issue
Ebonyi - PDP
Anambra- APGA
Abia - APGA
Imo - PPA (later PDP)
Enugu - PDP

In answer to your comments above, Obama is a democrat. The National Rifle Association of America (powerful gun association/lobbying group) has always voted Republican, it would be foolish to have them endorse a democrat during a primary. Organisations vote along party lines to protect their interests and if they have to endorse a candidate during a primary then that means they are members of that party.
I listed the states above to show the maths, the SE is not PDP, why is an umbrella body endorsing a candidate during a primary? Just doesn't make sense. Maybe a little patience until primaries are over before making declarations would help.

Ohanaeze started in 1937 but was not known as Ohanaeze then but Igbo Union. @ the bolded,That question is not for Ohanaeze but for the security apparatus of the govt.
On Onitsha-Owerri Road, that is one of the sins of Obasanjo against Ndigbo.
As usual we never take responsibility. It has to be someone else from another tribe.

Andre Uweh:
MASSOB is different from Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo. They do dot have a common goal. Get this filled up in your little brain. Ohanaeze is the apex Igbo organisation and from time to time has been consulted by the govt to represent Igbo interest. In 1995, Ohanaeze represented Ndigbo at the National conference in Abuja, not your village union.
At the bolded, the emergence of Azikiwe as the president of Nigeria in 1960 was as a result of alliance. Even boys in secondary school govt or history class knows this. Was your education in Nigeria or in Congo?.
Thank you for your response.
I thought Ohanaeze started in 1976 and I wonder how their alliance helped in 1960. In my reference I used "this Ohaneaze" lacks respect and I stand on that. For the past ten years, (I would be recent not to push you) what has Ohaneaze done for the Onitsha- Owerri road?
Where was Ohaneaze when Andy Uba kidnapped a sitting governor?
Maybe at some point they were respected but now they are not. They have no business endorsing a candidate seeking a primary election. By doing that, they have admitted to be PDP members and I know the Igbos are not all PDPs.

What are the results of alliance? Igbo Presidency in 2015?

@Andre.you've done enough to educate them, well done brother.one thing they fail to understand is that Ohanaeze is today building a strategic alliance with our people in SS,we have everything to gain than to loose even if GEJ lost on the election day, which is almost an impossibilty(he wont be the first sitting head of state in Africa to loose election)also GEJ is a role model to our SS Igbo brothers who are still shamfully denying their Igbo identity.Ndewo,
Ohanaeze and strategic alliance for their pockets? As an organisation this Ohanaeze respect level is low even MASSOB is more respected. They are a paper tiger and don't represent Igbos. What has alliance done for the Igbos in previous elections? Could you enumerate

This thread still dey?

Ohanaeze has no business endorsing a candidate. What if Atiku wins, who will they endorse? This is what makes Ndiigbo look clueless in the eyes of the world. Every election year their role is to endorse, why are they not producing Igbo leaders?

What is Ohanaeze's stand on Onitsha-Owerri road? I would like to hear. That would be a better discussion that would impact people.

The first rule of investment is "never lose money". Agreed Nollywood quality is low compared to maybe South Africa or Brazil but they are not making money and that is where they need to learn the business. As a self proclaimed Nollywood advocate I welcome this development, it is an industry awaiting innovation and many are seeing it wink

Well the truth is he is a world fugitive. He can't even attend his kids PTA meeting. 1 Cor. 7: 12-15 also gives another perspective that serves ground for divorce. Like I said, it is a last resort, I don't support it but if endangering a person life is involved then I think a separation first and then divorce later if the person is adamant in his/her ways. Even adultery can be forgiven if they can sort things out.

^^^ Like I said both partners have to commit to make it work out and divorce is a last resort. Sometimes a partner might have serious issues that is too harmful to you. Example if Mrs Bin Laden chooses to divorce Osama Bin Laden, will you advice they work it out because they are married?
Romance › Re: Is Divorce Forbidden by kcjazz(m): 9:38pm On Nov 21, 2010
Divorce is never ideal. But any relationship that robs you of who you are in God. Limits your growth and potential, you must consider all options.

Sometimes there are deeper issues more than infidelity on its own. If a husband is terribly abusive and hurtful, that is a serious problem and if all means to solve it does not walk, maybe a separation or divorce should happen.

Nigerians are funny. The reaction here is simply amazing. Its not like GEJ made this invention part of his PHCN 2014 mandate. Tone down and at least commend them for starting, they will fail and learn and we are all better for it. People are quick to quote science impossibilities, as if when the Wright brothers invented the plane, were scientists not skeptical and proved it impossible?

Not perfect, probably flawed, no innovation is perfect we learn by failing. It is a start and they should be encouraged, save them before they join another reality TV show to make a living.

Nice Siasia, you have my vote and I believe in your abilities. The eye is on 2014 WC, three years helps us to build in phases, some players will lead us now but will not be available in 2014 so rebuilding is systematic. NFF has done well by giving him control over other teams, that makes the transitions easier. Goodluck!

First off, its not about oil money. We igbos are innovative and industrious people. We do not need to rely on oil to make a great nation or livelihood. Innoson Motors is an example of that. Another thing is Igbos are from the SS oil is there also, oil is also in the SE,but anyways thats besides the point. As far as investments in other lands, there's a thing called diplomacy and trade amongst neighboring countries. If those countries to anything to scuttle that diplomacy between the other country that that country will suffer the consequences. Reltaionships to have to die if the regions separate, do individuals not have buisness social, and family relationships in the U.S., Ghana, Togo, etc.? Aren't those separate countries from nigeria?

African nations prosper according to what each of those nations are use to. We Igbos would do better under a parliamentary system government which is almost the same as our communities have been run for hundreds of years. "Igbo enweghi Eze", Igbos have no king. President=king, not a good system for us, as tyranny was used by every nigerian president.

As far as the "Igbo leaders" it would make it that much easier to take those fool out one a new country is created and also while power is no longer centralized.
I wish it were that simple.
So you saying an Igbo business man who owns real estate in Lagos, would be allowed to keep it under some trade agreement? Do you know how much Igbos lost during the war per investment and bank accounts, yet the government has not compensated them till today. By the way, is the business man going to be a citizen of the "old Nigeria" or a second class citizen? What if they say no, would you transfer real estate to Obosi?
It is one thing if I choose to marry a Ghanian or American but it is a totally different game if I wake up and realize that I now need a visa to visit my in-laws
Right now we are not even holding our leaders accountable, when some of them will claim they brought Mr Biggs to their state we reward them by voting/rigging them in.

kcjazz your comment is definitely jazz indeed. You really dont see the other side of the tunnel.
My problem with secessionists is that the discussion is centered on oil revenue and that for me is a short-sighted ambition. I am guessing you don't live in the SE. If you were Innoson motors owner, I would understand since his business is located in the SE.

Since the civil war, things have changed. The Igbos have spread to every nook of this country, in that time we have inter-married, created relationships and investments. Are you saying people will vote to secede for some oil that they have done without in the first place? Have you considered the psychological and social implications for families?

By the way, who told you the South South would share oil money with us? Most or every war in Africa have are rooted on tribalism, once we created a new state another minority will arise. Problem continues. On a personal note, a new state will mean new opportunity to some corrupt Igbo leaders that has failed the Igbo nation. I won't vote and I believe there are many like me out there.

No implications. I doubt if people will leave their thriving investments in the North or anywhere else for a new country. We are one and with leadership we can achieve.
Politics › Re: Our Governors Are To Blame by kcjazz(m): 7:04pm On Nov 15, 2010
^^^ Is the state not an extension of the federal government? What I believe the poster is saying is the governors have to share blame in the way things have turned out in their states. An example is the Doing Business report 2010, I expect Abia and Anambra to be at the top five on that list. However, the bureaucracy in their systems are not conducive for business. Don't forget that the Lagos or Jigawa of today were once governed by others in the past and we know the results.

Agreed, the Federal government has a role to play, so are the state and local governments.

I don't think so. States would only be given power to the extent necessary to maintain law and order within its territory. I also think that the interests in preventing a form of dictatorial leadership where one person has excessive power to the detriment of the entire country outweighs any fear that one state will have import weapons illegally in guise of self defense. Hey, the touchstone of the system is balance, for the entire country cannot be subordinated to any arbitrary and capricious decision of a leader in Abuja. It will also encourage competition between states, and it will increase the need for accountability. Currently, it is inconvenient for locals, for example, to drive to Abuja to complain about the ineptitude of the Nigerian Police Force in combating crime in their respective communities. Currently, one president's decision practically cripples the entire country, and it has been going on for 50 years. You can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.
I support Jason12345 on this one.

We are too divided along religious and tribal lines to opt for full federalism. After the civil war, the idea to make the center strong was in order to provide swift security . In the first republic, people voted along regional lines like NCNC, NPC and AG. Its not like in the US where 2 parties are present in all states. Problem is we have politicians who have learned to stir up religion or tribe as tool for unrest, hence our democracy is not yet suited for full federalism. The creation of states was to diffuse regional powers.

My take on this issue is to reform local government administration, that way no one is marginalized. No new states should be added. I feel politicians are using the federalism issue to cover incompetence. As it is, any state can do better than the way they are now.

The country Nigeria is a colonial creation, we are neither a unitary or a federation in practice. Part of the fall of the first republic was because of the Unitary government. We need to reform our local governments system, in order to gain the dividends of democracy.

Is it not both ways?

Dont we have many people who leave the villages, come to Lagos and hardly go back to visit or support theirm folks in the village?

On the other hand we have millions of Nigerians abroad who have assumed sole responsibility for their family back home.

I saw some stats that money sent from Nigerians abroad to Naija was in billions of Dollars, Guess whom these money were sent to?
True talk!
I think Nigeria is 2nd only to Mexico in remittances back home. The truth is there are people who leave for different reasons some to pursue an education while others are the future of their family. Whether people regret or not it shouldn't matter, because at the end of the day whatever makes you happy, please do and don't feel guilty about it.
