I can definitely agree with your post, but as much as I would like an Igboman to become president in the future, I would want that Igboman to be a good president. One not only all of Ndi Igbo can be proud of, but all of Nigeria. So in that regard, I would vote for any man or woman be they Efik, Ibibio, Hausa, Fulani, Tiv, or Yoruba, as long as I am convinced that it is his or her intention to move Nigeria forward collectively.
Yes O! all we want is a leader. The annoying part is IBB is inciting the civil war issue for political expediency.(I thought that was taboo topic in Nigeria) I don't think my grand dads died so we can have 2015 presidency, thats a dishonor to their memory.
Politics › Re: 2011: Ibb’s Offer Is Best Option For South East – Obinna Uzoh by kcjazz(m): 6:49am On Aug 22, 2010
Ndigbo what is that we want from Nigeria? Today it is Biafra, tomorrow it is 2015 Presidency. Maybe I am naive as to our political history but IBB leaving in 2015 is a joke. Didn't he promise to bring Nigeria to democracy after the coup? And when he had the chance what did he do?

To Obinna Uzoh, no sorry thanks, is this for another political relevance thing, you can't be governor of Anambra state in 2011, focus on your business.

Haha yeah I got it mixed up I guess, its been a long day but the idea remains the same. I would give a benefit of a doubt until the results are out. No beer for my son though, I might need his kidney someday. grin

@Beaf
Your comments about $150m and $23b is very funny. Every government in recent memory has spent outrageous sums on the power sector yet no satisfactory results. We are reasonable to give him a benefit of doubt until we see results. Power plants are not built in one day but planes are bought in one day just call Boeing grin Btw $150m is not N150m, that could build a waste recycling plant in Aba

Put it this way, I would pay for my son's education but I won't pay for his beer

[/quote

Yes a wasteful spender? The jet is an unnecessary luxury. Is that going to improve our foreign relations? Yes we have had terrible leaders in the past, so if he is different he should change that trend. Heck even the UK and USA are closing schools for lack of funds. It's no joke that the NNPC is not in good times cool[/quote]

Beaf:
you agree with some of what a very frankly racist article has said? shocked
Like what? It will be interesting to know.

The presidential jets were in the budget. So lets stop this holy pretence. If you don't like Jonathan for any reason (including tribalism), its a free World, nobody biting anyone. . . But when you come out in public, be sure you are talking sense, not glib recitals of the same old hateful Daily Trust style rubbish.
Everyone as a right to say what they want to say, you are selective in your answers, my question is what has he achieved in Bayelsa? For every job in the world employers ask for experience based on the thinking that the results of the past will mirror the future. I don't care if he was governor or a PTA chairman, I need to know what did he achieve in those responsibility.

That the air plane is in the budget doesn't make it final, he can choose not to go ahead with it even if he didn't draft them, he is the president. And by the way I am Igbo so am a southerner. As much as I dislike the federal character enshrined in our constitution I think because of our not so solid past it becomes a necessary feature in our country in order for peace to reign. Maybe the writer is selective or racist that is his own problem.
Politics › Re: Beyond Emotions: What Does Goodluck Jonathan Stand For? by kcjazz(m): 8:27pm On Aug 14, 2010
I quite agree with some of his assertions, what really has Jonathan achieved as a governor or vp? I was beginning to give him a chance but the presidential jet issue clearly shows he is one of the boys. Problem is who is better? IBB is a no go, by the way his YouTube video is a joke lol. My anger is with the opposition, they are so useless.

Politics › Re: Pat Utomi, Ibb, And Others by kcjazz(m): 6:57pm On Aug 08, 2010
It is indeed a marketing problem as well as a planning issue. The problem with Pat Utomi and Chris Okotie is rooted in the fact that good intentions alone does not guarantee votes. Its the same all over the world, thats why Berlusconi wins elections in Italy lol.

Our political structure is also flawed in the area of financing campaigns. Pat is a family man he cant possibly campaign in every local government compared to IBB. My blame is the fact that if he wants to be president he must plan for at least 4 years, create a group of followers willing to back him up and find ways to get those followers to fund his operations. I follow his Facebook and twitter and for a long time he has not updated it at all. We need to know what he is up to, we will be his foot soldiers. He can't be president without the market women as well so he has to localize his campaign to the grassroots. Most of all he needs relationships from the rich, poor, technocrats and corrupt people alike.

He needs to step his game up

I am always sceptical about "Africa's biggest" tag on any project in Nigeria. Biggest or first doesn't mean profit. I hope it won't be another Tinapa? They have to fix the airport and transportaion issue, people should stop crucifying KoboJunkie, shes raising some salient points. What will they sell in a mall that isn't sold in Onitsha or Aba? I am not sold yet, lets hear more
Politics › Re: Say No To Sim Card Registration by kcjazz(m): 7:25pm On Jul 08, 2010
I understand peoples frustration since our politicians have been masive failure in the past.

However I support this move simply because if you using technology you have no privacy, even if you use prepaid phones FBI can track you if you commit a crime. I also support registering new born babies, prisoners, unemployed etc. It saves cost and improves planning.

My question for the minister is how will this info be managed e.g from hackers, what legislation would be passed to guide info from ad agencies and criminals. That should be the focus.

We need to plan, we no dey plan but we want results. tongue
We have achieved moderate success at youth tourneys, we can build on the U23,u20 and U17, however we need a Siasia (attack minded coach)
Our league need to improved to keep this young stars at home for some time before they leave, It is no surprise that Spain, Germany and Holland have been succcessfu in the WC. Unlike England they attend junior tournaments.

I just hope the new NFA guys give Siasia the SE job and also the U23, my sadness over SE at the WC was the lack of depth on our bench. I believe the future is bright but only if we train our coaches and improve our league
Business › Re: Do You Need To Go To University To Make Money by kcjazz(m): 5:44am On Jul 04, 2010
To answer your question, what is the difference between education, schooling and learning?

Bill Gates for instance had access to mega computers in his early life (Read Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers) University education is not about paper as we have been programmed to think of it. You go to develop your mind Even a legend like FELA went to music school in order to perfect his trade. As a student I never read for the grades. Did I make 1st class? No, but I learnt alot that gives me the needed tool to succeed and everyday am still learning.

I don't need a university degree to learn about the restaurant business if my dad owns a successful restaurant. No amount of degree will impact the hands on experience I get at the restaurant

My point is you do not need a degree but you need to be good at something, have deep knowledge of it, just have the vision and courage to ship it out. Bill Gates,Jeff Bezos all saw what professors couldn't see
Sports › Re: Whatz Best For The Eagles Now? by kcjazz(m): 4:33am On Jun 26, 2010
We have to change the way we develop players, our system is archaic. We send players to U17,U20 etc and hope they graduate to SE but they don't grow as much because the market for players is expanding all around the world hence failure rate is high

We need to invest in well developed academies. Our league quality has to be improved. When was the last time a top club sent scouts for a local player? Part of it includes coaching aspect of the game. Is there a required coaching classification training? We need quality coaches and I think with the huge following of the game young people are interested.

Finally our national team coaches must be talking to each other, kudos to NFF for keeping John Obuh and his boys. I believe the U23 coach should be the SE coach as well that way we maintain continuity. The issue of Amodu boys or Siasia boys doesn't help our national teams
And then all this without a desire to serve is useless, the federal government have to change our educational curriculum to include patriotic values in our young people.

Naija people and the coach changing mentality. cry
We have to change the way we develop our players, part of it is improving our league.
We don't plan, we need long term coach contracts using the WC as a benchmark. 2010-2014 includes 2 nation cups, Olympics and WC
Kudos to the NFA for keeping the U17 and graduating them to U20.

Hat-trick - and it's the best of the lot by a mile. A terrific counter-attack from Argentina ends with Lionel Messi laying a delightful chip over the defence to Sergio Aguero, whose clipped cross is headed home on the run by Gonzalo Higuain. A cracking move and, yes, a cracking substitution from Diego Maradona.
Did you have to copy BBC commentary? Really?
Business › Re: Is Tinapa Failing? by kcjazz(m): 7:44am On Jun 07, 2010
Wrong planning. I don't agree because customs frustrated it, then its justified to be a failure. That is supposed to have been sorted out by the feasibility studies. $450m could have helped build industries for the good people of Cross River State. Why didn't they build in phases?

Right now they are stuck, I think they have a marketing problem instead. By the way how many movies have been produced at the Tinapa studios? Is that a custom problem too?
They have to come up with ways to re-brand the location, I hate the Dubai tag why not be Tinapa. Improve electricity in Calabar to attract businesses, hence more people. What is unique about this place? Is there a history museum? why not liaise with the Museum commission to create something different. Biafra Museum, craft museum. Transportation? can I get a days flight to this location from Lagos and back the same day. Is there a Tinapa magazine or journal? Website?

of course i know he is a defensive midfilder, but why is someone using him and ayila as reference when they are poor players.
I really hope you are joking right? Ayila or Etuhu are defensive mid fielders, their coaches would prefer they cover there tracks rather than score goals. The failure rate in soccer career is huge, so as long as one is paid to play for a club, then they must have something maybe we dont use them well and that is what kgdavid is talking about. Our problem is tactical and a lack of leadership.
Cool down and stop calling kgdavid names.

Same of the same, waiting to see why he worths #30m
Same of the same is for continuity and good transition, remember 2002. Just Yobo,Kanu,Utaka and standby Osaze are available today. Who are the new players you want? Coach is paid because of his tactical intelligence and brand. Whats the difference between a Nike shoe and any other shoe? grin
Lets wait and see.

Donald Duke would be a handsome president, one I would like to see at the UN grin.

BUT

With Tinapa, I am sorry I can't vote for him, a leader is a visionary. You don't do things and your legacy looses steam after 2 years.
Where is Tinapa today? After politics what has Duke been doing? How does he think he can win an election without voters and supporters.

Calabar is the cleanest state (they have always been clean by the way), Is it the healthiest?
Best PHCN?
Unemployment rate?
With the vast Agricultural resources, how many states in Nigeria are they feeding?

Any answers?

IT GET ME BOTHERED SOMETIMES WHEN I HEAR HOW MUCH OF THE TAX PAYERS MONEY THE 'MEN' IN AUTHOURITY WASTED EACH YEAR TRYING TO INDUSTRALIZE THIS COUNTRY. IN MY HUMBLE I WANT TO POST HERE WHAT I CONSIDER THE SIMPLEST MOVE IF SOMEONE CAN PLEASE HELP TELL THEM AT THE TOP:

1. GET THE BEST OF OUR UNIVERSITY GRADUATES TO GO OUT AND SPEND THEIR OWN NYSC PERIOD IN INTERNATIONAL FIELD WHERE THEY CAN ACQUIRE PRACTICAL TRAINING IN THEIR AREA OF DISCIPLINE.

2. TO GET QUALIFY DEPENDS MAINLY ON THE OVERALL RESULT OF THE GRADUATE.

3. WITH THE FEDERAL GOVT PROVIDING THE SUPPORT WHEN GOING, THE BENEFICIARIES MUST BE MADE TO UNDERSTAND THAT ON RETURN TO THIS COUNTRY THEY ARE NOT TO LOOK FOR JOBS BUT TO CREATE JOBS.

4. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF STARTING OFF ON THEIR RETURN MUST BE 50% SPONSORED BY FG, 30% BY THE STATE GOVT, AND 20% LOCAL GOVT WHERE SUCH PERSON DECIDES TO SET UP HIS/HER BASE.

5. THIS COULD BE A NATIONAL PROJECT FOR THE NEXT 8 TO 10 YEARS.

IF NIGERIA WILL EVER JOIN THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS PRODUCING ANYTHING OR AT LEAST BECOME SELF RELIANCE, THEN THE GOVT BETTER LOOKING INTO CREATING A SOLID FUTURE IN THE UP COMING YOUTH AND NOT RECYCLING THE CORRUPT MINDS WHOSE ONLY GLORY IS ON HOW TO GRAB MORE.

I REST MY 'CASE'
And you think this will bring industrialization?

How workable is sending our youths to another country and have them agree to come back?
What we need is improve our power problem, social capital as well as adopt a new national policy for education.
Most of all we need a visionary leader.

Well lets wait for the WC coach, I prefer Metsu or Guus, my problem with Guus is that the media will put pressure on the team, which I dont think is a good thing. Thanks Amodu, once again you have been screwed, see you in 2013 if we fail to learn our lessons and plan.

Sports › Re: Give Three Reasons Why Amodu Should Remain Or Be Sacked by kcjazz(m): 12:44am On Feb 05, 2010
Did Amodu hire himself?

I believe he should not be sacked

1. He met his targets. (WC & Semis). For those that say Mozambique qualified Nigeria, I think that is unfair to him. Why didn't Tunisia win their match? People say Nigerians always satisfied with mediocrity, I don't think a bronze medal is mediocre if an Ivory coast, Mali, or Cameroon ended the tournament empty handed.

2. He needs help. Get more people on the board to work with him, preferably Siasia, Kalika etc, match readers, scouts

3. Amodu is not the problem of Nigerian football. remember 1998,2002 we have been down this road before (we need a world class coach, tired legs etc). The FA needs refresher courses, they need to model our league to maybe the Brazillian league. I would prefer the u23 coach to be the SE coach, improve compensation to keep our best talents at home etc
Literature › Re: What Happened To Our Reading Culture? by kcjazz(m): 1:04am On Feb 04, 2010
Are there updated libraries?

God knows if I am a minister of education, no license for 2 bedroom primary schools.
Any school that wishes to be accredited must have libraries and playgrounds. Reading culture is declining but people are going to school huh.

Also other factors include PHCN effect. When a child comes back from school and lessons, he rests and after dinner the place is dark, how can he read? It becomes a health concern if he continuously uses a candle or lantern. or a cost concern if he uses extra generator lights

A lack of Literary societies, debate groups, research etc we should change our education policy and review our curriculum.

How would you accuse someone of lying without verifying. Am not a politician, am lying down in my sitting room jejely and watching BBC here in the US and this audio pops up. My concern is that the guy sounds sick. I would not believe that the BBC is in any agenda at this stage.
