100bn borrowed in 12months? Rivers people don enter one chance.that means he will keep borrowing every month.he has hidden the budget from rivers people till now. |
l Just a few weeks after the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike was given approval by the State Assembly to access 10 billion naira bail-out fund from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, the governor has wrote again to the assembly to grant him approval to borrow another 10billion naira. It would be recalled that few days to the commencement of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, national congress in the state, the governor wrote the assembly to borrow 10 billion naira which the opposition accused him of using to fund the PDP congress. However, the governor in his letter to the assembly today and read in plenary by the speaker, Dabotorudima Adams requested the assembly to grant him approval to access the Infrastructure and Capital Development Fund from the CBN. The Infrastructure and Capital Development Fund is a fund meant for the financing of capital projects domiciled with the CBN for states to borrow from. Wike in the letter said the money is needed to complete on-going projects in the state. The governor noted that the reconstruction of the Prof. Tam David-West/ Obiri Ikwere Road and the Saakpenwa-Kono Road would gulp 14 billion naira and as such the government needs the money to finance the project. Wike in another request asked the house to ratify the 2 billion naira Small Medium and Micro Enterprise Development loan it earlier collected from the CBN. Speaker of the assembly after listening to contributions from members gave the approval and equally ratified the already accessed loan. Similarly, the Rivers State House of Assembly, RVHA has bid farewell to one of its deceased former member, Monday Eleanya. Eleanya represented Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Constituency 1 in the assembly between 1999 and 2003. Leader of the assembly, Martins Amaewhule while condoling with the family, described the deceased as a seasoned lawmaker and a peaceful and unassuming politician who sacrificed for his people, urging the family to take solace in God. Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Marshal Uwom on his part, described the deceased as a great loss to the state. It would be recalled that Monday Eleanya was murdered along the Ada-George axis of Port Harcourt last year.

NDA, cripple the economy ok. It will never be well with u all & your families if u stop bombing the oil pipelines in ND. Bomb everywhere ok & dont forget to bomb all government buildings in ND..... Fools Keep blowing up everything. If they beg you please don't agree. Destroy all the oil installations. At least that will make our leaders put on their thinking caps to develop other sectors of the economy. But as for your region, be ready to cope with the effect of your actions for the next century. For those supporting the blow ups, maybe you should check the effects of oil spillage. Well done the avengers. Keep destroying your environment |

The crisis rocking the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) assumed a new dimension Wednesday, with the party’s Board of Trustees (BOT) saying it had taken over the leadership of the party pending the resolution of the leadership tussle in the fold. The Chairman of the Board, Walid Jibrin, told members of staff of the party at its National Secretariat, Abuja, that both the party’s National Working Committee led by former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff and the Interim National Caretaker Committee led by former Governor Ahmed Makarfi had been sacked. Mr. Jibrin said consequently, the BOT had taken over the running of the party. He said that the action of the BOT became imperative in order not to allow vacuum in the party’s operations as well as to resolve the leadership crisis within the party. “Today, the BOT remains the only legal body now in the whole set up and that is why we are here to play our role,” Mr. Jibrin said. “We are not here to take over the secretariat. We are here to perform our duties as enshrined in the constitution, hoping that our problems will be resolved soon. “We, the BOT have taken it upon ourselves to ensure we play a great role in resolving the problems. “We have gone very far in resolving them. We have made some contacts and consultations. “We are not here to cast blame on anybody. If it means to go to anybody to solve the problem, we will do so.’’ He said the BOT had been receiving great cooperation from elders and leaders of PDP for it to do its job. Mr. Jibrin, who said that the board would play its role without fair or favour, assured that the BOT would do its best to return normalcy to the party. “The PDP has come to stay. PDP will never die,” he said. PDP will continue to rule. “We are only on sabbatical leave and once the sabbatical is over, we are going to take over our leadership because it is our own. We are going back in 2019. But we can only do that if we cooperate and unite.’’ Mr. Jibrin, however, commended the Nigeria Police for securing the party’s secretariat by barricading access into it. “At this critical moment, what we need is to secure our property, to safeguard your lives, and to allow members of staff of the party to work under a very good atmosphere. “We, the BOT are entrusted under the constitution of our party to be in charge of the assets and liability of PDP.’’ He expressed optimism that the party would meet the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline on submission of the party candidate’s nomination form on the forthcoming Edo state governorship election. “We are putting our heads together with our lawyers,” the BOT chairman said. “We are rest assured that everything would be in order very soon, with the reconciliation that is going on which will not last long.’’ On his part, the BOT Secretary, Ojo Maduekwe, said the BOT intervened because of litigations surrounding the national caretaker committee set up in Port Harcourt on May 21, at its national convention. “Concerning the national caretaker committee, the matter is being resolved. “It will either be resolved by negotiation or by vacating the court orders. We will prefer the matter is resolved internally,’’ Mr. Maduekwe said. He said that the biggest impunity was for any party member to go to court on any issue without engaging internal mechanism in addressing it. Members of staff of PDP who were blocked for over a week were allowed access to their offices on Tuesday by the police who had barricaded the secretariat since May 22.

WAKE UP AND KNOW YOUR REAL ENEMIES IN NIGER - DELTANS! 1) You have the Ministry of Niger Delta... 2) You have the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). 3) The Governors from your states receive the highest allocations from the FG monthly. 4) Your states gets extra 13% derivatives monthly from the FG. 5) The militants from your region have been granted Amnesty by the FG and they have been on FG pay roll for quite some years now. 6) Your region produced the immediate past President of the country (don't forget he was also Governor and he was Vice President). 7) Several ministers, DGS, Heads of Agencies and Parastatals who served in his regime were from your region. So many militants became multi-billionaires in his regime. Yet you complain of being marginalized, and you are directing your fight at the wrong targets. Instead of fighting the people from your region who have enriched themselves with what belong to all of you, you choose to be fighting against your environment, blowing up oil installations in your region and causing more oil spill and environmental degradation. #SMH! Well, for your information, Your brigandage and shenanigans are to your own detriment. You are causing more pains for the people you claim to be Avenging. Since you have chosen to take laws into your hands, don't also forget that the FG has the responsibility to protect lives and properties in the region, therefore when the FG reacts to your actions, you may have yourself to blame. I Rest My Case! |
