Please i need something like this.I hope it can take 2007 autocad software plus other softwares for my work?
Can you accept =N=70,000.

This laptop is perfect for graphics and engineering programs such as Paint shop, autocad, Rhino, CorelDraw etc. Your price won't buy this though. The laptop is new and it's among the new technology products in the market today. I'm sure you must have heard of Pentium M. Well, this is better than Pentium M as it could do more simultaneously.

I don't want to waste so much time bargaining that is why I have placed a last price for this. It is N170,000Now 160k. If you know you can afford it, you better pick it up.

If you want something a little cheaper. I have another one very similar to this. It's a Dell Inspiron 6400 without the bluetooth. That goes for N163,000 now Now 155k. Let me know when you change your mind.

@bulwark, are you sure about those rates? Can you help with the shop number at the Ikeja Shopping Complex? Do you know if they have a branch in GA? Anyway thanks for the contacts. I will call them to ask that. Thanks a lot.

@promise72, I don't think that will work for me. Thanks anyway.
Seun:

How do you pay for these goods. I'm really interested. About how much are the shipping fees? Thanks
The shipping is approx. $80/kg. Takes 3-5days to get to Nigeria. That's too much for me. Won't make much out of that. I pay with Credit Card.

Why do Nigerians always think this way? Like nothing goes for nothing huh. You guys think am doing this because I have something to gain. When I bought those I remember looking around the Computer Village but never found it elsewhere but two shops. Well if that's what you think why not try to find the GENX yourself. You could as well stick with your fake flash drives.

Computers / A Final Solution To Fake Flash Drives by kdships(m): 6:04pm On Jan 29, 2007
Guys, Here Is A Final Solution To Fake Flash Drives

Good things don’t always come cheap. Like the saying goes, “Cheap article dey run belle". I have used virtually 50% of the common names in the Nigerian market. Of course you already know what that means. The truth about these flash drives is that 95% of them are fake and these are imported from China. These Nigerian importers tell the Chinese exactly what to manufacture. So, the blame should go to the importers and not the manufacturers. These flash drives can be made to have a longer life span but these importers would rather ask for a shorter life span flash drive thereby increasing their turnover.

This is another area that the authorities should look into. I really don’t know if there is any government body that is designated for such. If there isn’t, then there should be one to always check the quality of the computers, its peripherals and accessories that are imported into the country. If NAFDAC can do it for our food and drug, a similar body can do it as well for our office and home appliances.

So, as I was saying, if you really want a good flash drive. Look for any that has “Made in Korea” or “Made in Taiwan” written on it. I have used two that had “Made in Korea” written on them. I physically damaged one and the other one got flushed down the toilet. I had bought one for a friend. He used it for close to a year until he misplaced it.

The name to look out for is GENX (GenerationX) Flash Drive. If you can’t find “Made in Korea” written on it, just take it anyway (that’s if you are buying GENX). If you are going for anything else, always insist on one that has “Made in Korea” or “Made in Taiwan” written on it.

If you can’t find GENX on your own, call me on 0803424800. I’ll be glad to help. The prices are a little higher though. Of course, good things don’t always come cheap.

I have stocks of items waiting to be shipped to Nigeria from the US but am finding it hard paying for the shipping. UPS, DHL, FEDEX, AIRBOURNE fees are a little too expensive for me. If you have an idea about a much cheaper company or a better way to do this, please let me know.

Why is Seun not answering this question? Seun, if you are not ready to answer this question I will answer it for you. Although my estimation might not be exactly correct but am sure it will be close to it.

I believe this question is best answered by an expert analyst. But by my calculations, this site is worth over 88,000,000 naira. Mind you, this does not necessarily mean that he has all these cash right now.

So, Seun, how did I do?

Can the private sector not build refineries and manufacturing companies? This is not the role of government!
The private sector can build these but is the government not responsible for creating a conducive environment for them? If the environment is not conducive would you build a refinery? Well, that's just one example.

@ktemidayo, what has that (WMUN06) got to do with what is discussed here?

olutaiwo:

What is the essence of conducting an aptitude test ,if those with higher scores will not be interviewed while those with lower scores are interviewed just because they recently graduated.
I guess that's because you are in the wrong place. If you graduated some years earlier, you should have at least one work experience. Add that to your resume and that should get you a job with experience and not an entry level job.
Jobs/Vacancies / The 25 Top Jobs For 2007-2009 by kdships(m): 9:24pm On Jan 20, 2007
Nairalanders,

You might want to read this interesting stuff. Where do you belong? Will you make changes in your career path after reading this?

===========================================================

What are the best jobs to pursue for the next five years? Fast Company draws on the work of the Bureau of Labor Statistics and an innovation expert to tap the top jobs.

What makes a job a great job? Obviously, different people will give different answers. It's impossible to account for everyone's personal taste and personality traits -- including foibles -- and how they might fit into a particular job. What makes a great job opportunity is much easier to gauge. How much do you get paid? What kind of professional development opportunities are available? How much room for innovation does a role offer?
Fast Company based this year's index of the top jobs on four categories: job growth, salary potential, education level, and room for innovation. Relying heavily on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the work of Dr. Kevin Stolarick, a lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University and an expert on the creative class, Fast Company has assembled a list of the 25 Top Jobs for 2005.
What We Considered
Clearly, you want to pick a career that's in high demand. Because job growth is so important, we weighted our index 35% toward the Bureau of Labor Statistic's projected job growth data through 2012.
Money also matters. We based our salary range -- an indication of the opportunity for salary growth -- on the difference between the 10th percentile earnings and the 90th percentile earnings for a given job, also based on BLS data. This gives a picture of where you might end up in relation to where you started. The greater the divide, the better the score. Salary range was also given a 35% share of the total index score.
A great job, in our opinion, also requires a good deal of investment in education. Our education score is based on what percentage of those working in the field hold a college degree according to BLS data. We weighted this 20%.
Finally, a great job needs to give you room to run. How innovative and creative can you be? How open to new ideas are people in your profession? We turned to Dr. Kevin Stolarick to help determine how creative workers can be in a given field. We weighted this 10%.
Doing the Job
In addition to the rankings and some brief job descriptions, we've profiled 10 leaders actually working in some of these exciting positions. Among them, we've got a Harvard stem cell researcher, a Wal-Mart systems analyst, a personal financial advisor to the nouveau riche, and an actuary who doesn't think his job is boring. Though they come from a wide range of fields and backgrounds, there are some common threads running through them -- besides the fact that they love their jobs. Most find themselves working at the intersection of business and technology, which keeps things fresh. They all give the same advice about being successful at work, too: Stay flexible. These jobs aren't for the rigid of mind, and you need to accept that they might take you places you don't expect to go. That's part of the fun -- and what makes these jobs the best.

The Jobs

1. Personal finance adviser
2. Medical scientist
3. Computer software engineer
4. Chiropractor
5. Environmental engineer

Seun:

Politicians cannot create jobs. They are not magicians; they are liars. Jobs are created by employers only.
Of course, they can create jobs. Jobs can be created through building the much needed refineries, manufacturing companies etc. These companies can also be privatized and money generated can be used in turn to create more opportunities. Must they wait for individuals to come in when they are not even creating a conducive environment.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Employers, Please Stop Frustrating Job Seekers With Unnecessary Demands by kdships(m): 5:55pm On Jan 18, 2007
I believe he's saying the same thing. There are more job seekers than the jobs. I guess it's our politicians that are giving them the opportunities. If only the government had created more jobs like they always promise, things would have been quite different. Maybe more job seekers than jobs still, but the gap definitely wouldn't have been this wide.

Jobs/Vacancies / Job Interview Questions - Know The Tricks by kdships(m): 5:13pm On Jan 12, 2007
Dear Nairalander,

Have you ever been interviewed before? Interview questions can be tricky and sometimes straight forward. It is important that we get used to some of the common questions asked at the "hot" desk. And mind your grammar when answering these questions too.

If you have been interviewed before, kindly share with us your experiences.

I am posting this because of what I noticed in a thread here titled "Job Seekers: What Course Did You Study?". When you are asked, "What course did you study?". How should your answer be like?

Is it,
"I read Medicine."

Or,
"I studied Medicine."

So, if you have anything to share on job interview questions in Information Technology, Medicine, Banking, etc please kindly do that here.
Thanks
