Sometimes people on nairaland mistake myself, kinkyangela, spanishkid and some of us here on nairaland. I'm not a tribalist and I wasn't born a tribalist but due to the fact that some immigrants in our region are trying to cause trouble and grab our ancestral lands I've decided to stand up to them. They've been trying since time immemorial to igbonise the SS region but to no avail. They've even started renaming some of our lands. For example, Port-Harcourt is being called igweocha now. They've even gone as far as claiming Opobo and Ndoki as one of theirs. They've even tried forcing their identity on my Ikwerre brothers and Ika brothers.

Now I know that hausas and yorubas are not the problem with Nigeria but rather these cursed people across the Niger. Their only purpose in life is to try and claim other people's land. They tried doing so in the civil war and they were terribly dealt with. All thanks to the Nigerian army. They've tried using propaganda but to no avail. Our lands are not for mortgage.

Tonyebarcanista has finally seen them for what they truly are. That is, land grabbers who are not igbonise and steal our oil. As usual they started insulting him cos he spoke the truth. Nobody cares about their dam biafra. Niger Delta republic must stand.

It's time we start sending these roaches back to their region.
OP why re you wasting your time with those folks. If Nigeria should split, we can never be part of Biafra. I created an article of this such and they called me an impostor, one even said am from Osun State.

Buhari is Nigeria's most sectional president.
For that reason, he could not see beyond ethnic and religious lines for clean

Wike is a small boy for Amaechi to fight. Don't even go there. Get over it, Jonathan lost and new Nigerian chapter has been open.

You had a better chance of letting rival politics play the tune of Development well, but you lost it through partisan politics among others. I am sure this would not have been so if PDP was allowed in Lagos, as they would have buckled up to impress the opposition. Now who is to stop them now when they are themselves. All we keep hearing are town hall meetings, plans and worries, instead of sweaty hard labour.
Apart from the noise and constant fight, a man that marries 2 wives will enjoy great meals often. I hope Rivers State will learn from this malady.

Things have really changed since he took over. I believe he is concentrating more on the plights of civil servants that were abandoned for years especially pensioners. He is also restructuring civil service but he shouldn't forget Lagos State is not a civil servant state. Is a business hub that requires the ground running from day. He thought he was doing good to the populace by banning the impounding of vehicles by LASTMA not knowing that most Lagosians are not not culturally civil, they need to be compel to obey. The traffic in Lagos is now meh, yesterday's own at Alausa and Maryland were just terrible. I just want him to hit the ground running. Ambode in times of infra structural development have been up and doing too. That ACME road he just fixed at Ikeja and other roads the state government have been fixing are really not been hyped. I blame his media team. Maybe the security situation has overtaken Lagosians psyche on his performances so far. He better do the needful.

PoliticsProbe South East/South-South Federal roads FOSESSMBA Begs PMB by kel4soft(op): 4:12pm On Oct 28, 2015
A pressure group, Forum of South East, South-South and Middle-Belt Advocates for Better Nigeria (FOSESSMBA), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to urgently constitute a panel to investigate the abandoned and poorly executed federal road contracts within the three zones.
The group made the call after an interactive session in Enugu, where participants from the three geopolitical zones reviewed the plights of the people on account of the deplorable condition of federal roads and the near collapse of basic infrastructure in the area.
The group noted that apart from the over 70-kilometre Enugu–Abakaliki single-carriage Federal Highway built under Trans-
Sahara highway project during the last years of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, all other federal roads in the area have totally collapsed, and now impassable.
In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Bon Onwubualili, and Secretary, Tony Edike, the group observed that almost all the federal highways in the three zones, including those purportedly rehabilitated by the immediate past administration, were no longer motorable as they have been taken over by deep potholes and gullies.
The FOSESSMBA said: “As a result of the poor state of affairs, many lives and goods worth several billions of naira have been lost to frequent auto crashes, while inland roads built by various state governments have been over-stretched due to diversion of heavy traffic to such roads.
“We are aware that most of the federal roads in these regions like the Makurdi–9th Mile Road, Enugu-Onitsha highway, Enugu-Port Harcourt highway, Owerri-Port Harcourt, Idah- Onyedega-Otuocha Road, Ankpa-Lokoja Road, Arochukwu- Ohafia Road, Owerri-Okigwe Road, Odolu-Nsukka-Adani- Onitsha Road, had been awarded to various contractors and huge funds released to them without any appreciable job done on these roads. And where some jobs were done, they were substandard and could not last beyond the year they were constructed, making them even worse than they were, and exposing motorists to avoidable deaths.
“It is even more disheartening that some members of the National Assembly from the affected geopolitical zones, had in recent past, occupied key positions as chairmen, Senate and House of Representatives Committees for Works and Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), yet, the federal highways which oversight they supervised, are today impassable and death-traps.
“We hereby call on these representatives, some of who are currently holding public offices, to give account of their stewardship to those they represented, and who are now suffering on account of deplorable infrastructure,” the forum said.
The group, however, urged the president to declare a state of emergency on roads in the three geopolitical zones to save the suffering people of the area from further hardship.

I am telling what is going to be. The more you Ijaw people try to challenge the Jaja ownership of Opobo and Jaja throne authority, like you recently did, the more you push Jaja descendants and descendants of Igbo slaves in Opobo towards their Igbo origin.

Better stop your Ijaw expansionism agenda now, and accept the hybrid nature of Opobo as a meeting point between Igbo, Ijaw and Ibibio cultures, just like Cyprus is to Greece and Turkey.
You are an Idiooot I've now finally seen. Opobo is a full blown Ijaw land. Soil wise, culture wise and otherwise. As for the heir apparent only on King Jaja's lineage. There are things as an Opobian I'll not reveal here to your consumption cos you don't deserve it.

Go and sit down. Opobo is a private estate of Jaja, and his descendants.
If Jaja Ijaw subordinates who accompanied Jaja to opobo from Bonny what to remain Ijaw, it's understandable. But the Opobo land belong to Ijaw, an Igbo slave boy who became a free man, and who hails from Amaigbo Imo state.

Only Jaja descendants will decide where Opobo ends up. You Ijaw people there have no such rights.

Your attempts to dispose Jajas off the throne of Opobo had already failed. Opobo is not under your control.

Now go and D.
You summarised to suit your ego. Clap for yourself. Opobo was founded not as an Igbo nation, we had different culture from Igbo bar the language which is still been an issue with the people of Bonny. So Bonny is still an Igbo land since Jumbo houses are Igbo slaves. Please go and read history of Opobo Kingdom written by her indigene not what one man at Arochukwu wrote.

Abagworo:
Opobo was not Ijawland. It was founded by Jaja and his followers. However Jaja the leader was from Amaigbo in Imo State and Opobo was established with Igbo as 1st language.

Leaning towards Ijaw for convenience is understandable but do not distort a very recent and open history.
How can you say, it was founded by an Igbo man? The history you guys wrote is distorted. When he moved with his followers? Who re his followers? He is Igbo not denying that fact, but an adopted slave by the Bonny King same can be said of all immigrants in foreign soils. Having said that, he never regarded himself as an Igbo man, but an Ibani man to the core, it was the civil war that broke out in Bonny between his group (chiefs war canoe houses) and Oko-Jumbo (an Igbo slave too) who opposed him. He escaped with these same Bonny Chiefs to Obolo land (Andoni). The king of Andoni welcomed them and gave them land accross trans-ocean, the present day Opobo.

I'm not leaning towards Ijaw. Beside, do you know my lineage is not Jaja and so why should I claim what am not?

An opobo man posted this on naij.

opobo is igboland founded by an igbo man , yes! Part of the grand design to severe the Igbo ties is not unconnected with the long kingship tussle that greeted Opobo at the demise of her last Amanyanabo. As we all know, there was a gang up by some chieftaincy houses of Ijaw origins in Opobo to unseat the Jajas. But after 30 years of legal battle, the Nigerian Supreme Court, on the 23rd of April, 2003, ruled that “Opobo is not a traditional town as we know it. It is a Settlement founded by King Jaja, and remains his estate and that of his descendants” Led by the legal giant, the late Chief G.C.M Onyiuke (SAN), the Jajas' authority over Opobo was permanently signed and sealed.
It was after the landmark ruling that the family established a foundation in honor of their patriach and quickly appointed Anyim Pius Anyim, the then Senate President, as the life Chairman. Thus, the success or otherwise of de-tonguing Opobo - from Igbo to Ijoid Ibani - will largely depend on the acceptance of the Jaja dynasty. Opobo was founded on Igbo language. And King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, the man I saw at Peter Obi’s farewell gathering at Awka, does not appear like someone who would play with history and tradition.
Opobo is one settlement that will be difficult for revisionists to undo as all documents signed by King Jaja himself on behalf of his estate were well secured. And which helped the surviving off-springs reclaim their father’s settlement in the Supreme . Therefore, it is only the Jaja family that can determine the cultural identity of Opobo.
In August 2014, at the Elekahia Stadium, Port Harcourt, Hon. Dakuku Peterside representing Opobo told the “unification” gathering of Ohaneze Ndigbo that “I’m a full blooded Igboman….My town, Opobo, was founded by an Igbo, the mighty King Jaja...”
