PhonesRe: Activating 3g On Etisalat Line by Kellymann: 4:29pm On Jan 07, 2014
If you have tried all options and you are still unable to get 3g signals try contacting the helpline to have 3g activated on the line. It might be that the 3g was deactivated after another service was activated or deactivated.

Sometimes on Etisalat lines, when a blackberry service is deactivated, it knocks of 3G as well. A call to the Data Helpline should solve the problem. A data agent can have the service reactivated in minutes. Hope this helps.

Bro, appreciate your effort with helping good old DonDemu. One question please can you help with the 2g locked thingy? I have a clone like that ordered from aliexpress as a clone of course (was not as unlucky as DonDemu who paid African fortune for his MTK clone) and its locked to 2g and when wcdma only or preferred is selected, it does not change but retain the 2g. Please lemme know if there's a correction for this.

Don Demu: I appreciate boss, but not including the sermon grin.

Wudve loved to have that samsung start up image cos its kinda romantic so she deserves to have atleast that one for her 50k.

All the same am sooooooooooo grateful for everything. I have to go find that "best moment in NL thread" and edit my comment cos this surely is the best. I used to be a troll, a troubemaker extraordinaire' and a kill-joy on NL but am now a changed man cos you have shown me love, patience and how it feels to be there for someone.

God bless u....God bless...God bless u...Tnx dawg smiley smiley smiley
Bro, If you are still bent on getting the Samsung boot animation back on the device (that's if you are yet to sell it to your abokiya of course) just dial #*#94#*# and the boot animation is restored. Hope your exploit with the abokiya went well *wink* grin wink

Kellymann: Dear all,

I will like to make some clarifying statements regarding the Etisalat Customer Care Thread.

First and foremost, I want us all to know that the thread is wholly an independent effort by me as an individual therefore, Etisalat does not take responsibility for views or responses expressed therein.

I apologise for the disappointment experienced by the teeming etisalat subscribers who desire prompt response to their requests as I had since sent out communication to the moderators to have the thread discontinued so I am not aware that it is still active up until recently.

Hence, I am using this medium to inform us that this thread has been officially CLOSED.

I advise that the approved etisalat social media channels which remain the etisalat Facebook page and twitter handle accessible via https://www.facebook.com/etisalatng and https://twitter.com/0809ja_support respectively, be explored for support on issues, enquiries, etc.

Once again I take full responsibility for the views/responses expressed on this thread and reiterate that none of these originated from etisalat.

I am living at Ikotun-Abaranje,Lagos.What might be the cause?
We will like to know if you are the only one experiencing the issue or its general. If it is general, it may be that the network signal in the area may be the cause. I have used etisalat internet service in Abaranje before myself and can say that it is quite okay. If the issue is peculiar, you can try sending us an email stating the issue and the affected phone number so that we can look into it. Apologies for the inconvenience.

yosmen: what type of business can one do to invest in etisalat products outside selling of recharge cards ?
Apart from selling recharge cards, you can also be an e-topup vendor to sell etisalat airtime electronically. As an e-topup vendor, you get your commission upfront. You can also be a telecentre (phone call business centre) operator side by side vending e-topup to get double benefits. You get commission upfront and also get 10% bonus on your recharges on your telecentre line not talking of several promos open to telecentre operators only.

You can visit any etisalat experience centre to get more information about this.

You have Easy Cliq for the day service active on the line that enables you call etisalat lines at 20 kobo per second and gives you 1mb free data.

You can deactivate it by dialing *330*2# if you are no longer interested.

If the line is expired, you won't be able to use the line again as it would have been deactivated on the network and will be eventually recycled.

Kindly buy a new etisalat line and ensure you check the SIM expiry data to be sure it has not expired.

Kindly revert if this does not resolve the issue.

popson1: etisalat has this nauseating habit of extorting their customers. I'm sorry to say this but it is true. last week, I recharged my account with N4200 for internet browsing purposes and I had N200 balance initially- Rather than having a total balance of N4400 from which N4000 monthly subscription would be deducted for 1.5g, my account had a shocking N3600 credIts! I therefore had to buy unprecedented additional N400 to make up the difference.
I would appreciate it if you could explain the N800 difference with a view to refunding it forthwith. My phone number Is 08188444340. Please note that my account Is always credIted with bonus after I recharged wIth a specIfIc code but what Im ye
t to fathom Is If the deduction was as result of the given bonus. Thanks in anticipation of a swift response.
You subscribed to the Easy Flex 500 and 300 naira respectively on the same day. That accounted for the 800 naira short fall you noticed.

NnamdiN: I want an end (a permanent one ) to these sort of messages. They are very annoying. I don't know if subscriber's phone numbers are sold to these short code fellows. I want out of their messages. If it's not a promotional message from Etisalat, I'm not interested. Please I'd appreciate a break.
In the meantime, the only way to avoid these messages if we are not interested is to disregard them while we work on the possibility of opting out of promotional messages if that will be possible. Disregarding the SMS will not cost you anything. If you however responds to any of them, the action may trigger the activation of the alerts and could attract charges.

So if you ask me, I will advise you disregard them if not interested.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

fbafunk: @ kellyman, do easyflex have any data plan attached to the plan at all, cos i subscribed to the #300 easyflex plan and enjoyed the #600 credit for 7days?
The Easy Flex does not have a data plan attached to it, however browsing on the plan is drop dead cheap as you can browse for as low as 3 kobo per kilobyte.

Hope this helps.

blank: Etisalat has the very annoying habit of deducting credit even when no calls have been made and no internet service used. It is really annoying. One day, you guys deducted 566naira at a go. I want to drop the line cos this is so frustrating.

Also, why do i have to pay for calls received?
Sorry about this but I will like you to understand that no amount can be deducted from your account without any service used. Technology these days require real-time online presence and connection to the internet everytime on the go. All these come at a go. It is advisable we understand functionality of our devices to avoid being charged for services when we are not using them. Its just like saying your car fuel will remain on the same level on the gauge when you leave the engine running while in traffic for example. Several applications may be running in the background on our phones that require real time connection to the internet that we may not be aware of. If these happens you will of course be charged or it may be that you have a service that you may have inadvertently activated and is causing these deductions.

Kindly send us a mail explaining the issue with the mobile number affected and we will be glad to look into it and clarify accordingly or address the dropped balance issue if there is indeed one.

Regards

I'm sorry, the data rollover does not apply to the weekly free data on Easy Cliq. Also the free data is granted only once within a weekly cycle. Subsequent recharges within the same week does grant another free data.

nairacountry: d highest complaint so far has being on d tricky auto renewal bundle plan. I make a conclution dat etisalat do dis to defraud subscribers of their hard earned money. dis is uncalled for. it a gullible act. As for me, I had placed you; etisalat on permanent hold till my present ntwk provider mess wit me. least I 4get, our relationship can neva, I mean neva b lyk it used to b. etisalat,u fall my hand big time!
I have addressed the issue of auto renewal in another post on this thread. The auto renewal feature is not intended to inconvenience the customer, rather it makes it easier for subscribers to continue the usage of their data service without going through the hassles of subscribing all over again if there is sufficient balance. Subscriber have the option to deactivate this feature if they don't want this to happen.

In my considered opinion, I see no fraud here but rather a situation where users are given options and the power to choose.

luvinhubby: Great job for a fantastic network, but @kellyman please try and respond to issues raised ASAP without delay, that's wat Etibaba stands for.
Will strive towards this. Its just given the limitations this platform has in terms of response time. It is however doable.

nomoskitel: I'm on the blackberry absolute plan for #1500,I however noticed that whenever I recharge my phone,it is deducted.I called d customer care center, and they said because I was on d complete plan.I have since switched to the absolute plan,bt my airtime is still deducted.I'm always scared of recharging my phone now, infact I'm contemplating porting to another network.
Kindly send us a mail stating the issue and the mobile number with the issue. The email address is care@etisalat.com.ng. I can assure you that this will be looked into and addressed accordingly. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Melaku-chikala:
Hello Mr. Kelly, i have problems with opera mini. I have downloaded it twice and it will only show for twenty to thirty minutes. After that, it stops showing anything but still runs which will make me delete it. I have called customer care before to complain. They only wasted my time.
Kindly delete the application and reinstall it. You can also consider using the etisalat opera mini. You can subscribe to the different bundle plans available. Below are the plans:

To Activate
Send 'social' or 'sports' via SMS to 343 then visit m.opera.com to get the browser

Plans Cost (N) Subscribe (dial) Subscribe (SMS) Bundle Access*
Social bundle N50/day *343*1# social to 343 browse m.facebook.com, m.twitter.com and m.naijapals.com
Sports bundle N50/day *343*2# sports to 343 browse m.goal.com, m.espn.go.com and sports.opera.com

Pay As You Go rates for browsing will apply for visiting websites outside of each bundle

freecitizn: I totally concur with @nairacountry. I believe this autorenewal thing is subtly fraudulent and is our most dominant complaint. Etisalat should make autorenewal of any product purchase optional fron inception and duly inform customers with clarity. They should also make opting out easier and less ambiguous.
Opting out of the auto renewal is actually very easy and seamless and very easy to understand as well. Kindly let us know the areas you still have challenge with and we will be glad to clarify accordingly.

The code you dialed has moved you out of Easy Cliq, so right now you are on the Easy Flex bundle plan. To enjoy the weekly 15MB free data, you need to migrate back to Easy Cliq by dialing *244*1#. Migration may attract a charge of 100 naira if it is not your first migration.
