Etisalat Crashes Blackberry Tariffs - Introduces Blackberry Absolute

Etisalat has scored another first after been able to crash the tariff for voice calls in Nigeria since 2009 by going further to crash the tariff of its BB plans.

The old Social plan has been discontinued and the Full BIS replaced with Blackberry Absolute Plan with the Complete retained.

I don't know the kind of trouble you mean the OP may get into. The only one that has potential of getting into trouble here is GTB. If the OP's claim is true, I picture the bank paying heavily for this either in form of damages to the OP or bribing government officials to cover up if they have the required heavy-weight to pull that off. I know we are in Nigeria and things happen.

I discovered this morng dt once ur BB subscription expires on etisalat network, they automatically start charging you per kb of download from your available balance,instead of the usual practice of cutting you off the internet.
This to me, is pure daylight robbery. I have a BB and a smartphone, which I use more. I only use the BB to ping. Called dr Customer Care and was told to deactivate all programs accessing d internet n i'm like hello, wat about the hidden programs. This is daylight robbery and i wld like anyone out there to find a way of calling d mgmt's attention to this. If I want to browse wit my BB, i'll subscribe, else they shld pls cut me off the internet!

I will ignore you and guess you cannot just be old enough to stomach the fact that the truth hit you where it really hurts and stop trying to divert your anger to personality instead of facing the reality that someone tried to call your attention to a fact you might have ignored.

You have to also understand that apart from subscribing to BIS, you blackberry phone can still connect to the internet and browse only cannot do BIS, bbm or any other native BIS app that requires BIS to run.

If your phone uses data, it is only logical that you will be charged from your main balance for data consumption if you do not have data bundle.

Let's try to understand the way mordern technology works before accusing service providers of ripp-off.

Etistalat is gud for internet browsing, but for calls, no way. Etisalat's call tariffs are terrible.
@Op, Etisalat's easylife N5 daily rent is 20k for on-net calls, but 50k for off-net calls. So its too much.

Correction!!! What you are referring to is Cliq for the Day. Easylife 3.0 gives u 20k/sec to all networks in naija, 5 international destinations; US, UK (fixed lines), canada india & china, 20 free on-net sms daily & 1mb for only, N5 daily fee.

The only app I know that can do that is Soti Pocket Controller. You can install the trial version but you have to purchase the full version to be able to continue using it after the trial expires. It also has to be installed both on the phone and the computer.

Data or BIS service actually depends on the several factors which could range from strength of network, number of users and your device. Since you use a 3G device, that has been ruled out. The issue may be that etisalat network is not strong in your area. You might try calling their customer care line to lodge a complain or send them an email. Their email address is care@etisalat.com.ng. You will surely get a feedback.

If the statement accredited to the sultan or his representative about them not informed regarding female pilgrims requiring a mahram to travel with them is tru, then I'm totally dissapointed in our islamic leaders in this country.

Since the institution of hajj, it has always been a rule that a female going on hajj should have a relative, either her husband or another relative travel with her.

The sultan should focus more on ensuring that proper due process is followed as far as hajj matters are related instead of making sweeping statements.
