We harvested 4.5 dozen(53 bunches) from our experimental farm yesterday and shipped to Lagos for supply. The returns was so handsome. We are motivated by this to expand our farm to 2ha more. Indeed if you do the needful and follow all the agronomy best practice for cultivating plantain sucker cum buying your sucker from reliable source like ours, yu have every reason to smile to the bank Because of the sizes of the fruits as seen in the picture, a dozen was sold for #13,000 to #15,000. Keep following our thread on the other post which highlight steps to establishing our experimental farm because soon we would post an article there explaing expected profit and profit made so far with expected number of dozen and dozen harvested so far. We applied Atrazin + Paracort herbicide on our TME419 farm on the 11th of August. Check how clean the farm is even after 3weeks. Control of weed is essential at the first 3months of your cassava if you are targeting tuberous growth and desease free tubers. Check out how healthy our cassava are....... We can do same for you

We appreciate our esteem client who understand the intrecasy of soil test and find confidence in our fertility testing. Let do it again in the coming season. Cheers!! |
Goodtogrowfarm:You most times do not need fertilizer except in a situation where the land has been over used. TME do not produce tuberous tubers in an over used land. As for how to identify TME, you can identify it when you see it physically placed side by side with other stems for comparism. For more details consult our TME production book Cheers!! |
We made another harvest of 28bunches from our experimental farm yesterday and was picked up by our new distributor in Lagos and sold handsomely. Client has been asking me how it is possible to sustain a plantain plantation to avoid desertification? To ensure your plantation keep producing fruit for the next 5-7years you must practise the following 1. Always replant another sucker on the sport you just cut off a sucker which fruit have been harvested. Except in a situation where the parent sucker already has offspring to start a new generation 2. Ensure you make the plantation weed free 3. Do not stay away from the farm. Visit as frequent as possible to identify early symptom of desease out break especially Nematode 4. Apply compost manure for the nest generation For more detail contact kenfarm help desk |
Lookout for our progress report on our experimental farm. I would post total expected dozen we hope to harvest, how many dozen harvested so far and how many left. I will also post a farm management skill am adopting to ensure this plantation keep producing fruits for the next 7yrs and beyond Cheers!! |
We are practically in the last phase of the season.....if you have not planted your suckers you can still oder for it and plant .....by September ending it will be late. Cheers!! |
Whether you will be satisfy or dissatisfy on your harvesting day depends on your choice of suckers.....this follow the saying that what you plant is what you harvest.....make a wise choice by calling kenfarm for your genetically engineered suckers suitable for the tropical region. Also on how to ensure your plantain plantation keep fruiting for 5yrs to 10yrs subscribe to our URL |
SYMPTOMS OF NEMATODE If your sucker is affected with Nematode, you will observe the following on your plantation: Red/Black lesions on the roots and decaying of roots. Infected plants have much lower number of secondary and tertiary roots. Stunted growth of plants (Plants exhibit poor health). Yellowing of leaves. Foliar symptoms of nematode damage are mostly similar to the conditions attributed to water logging, weed competition, nutrient deficiency Etc. Affected plant may bear small bunch or choked bunch. The infested plants also topple over and uproot easily during wet and windy weather because of inadequate anchorage. Premature leaf drop and an increased tendency to wilt or dieback during dry periods. Root knots (galls), lesions on roots, stubby roots or splitting of roots.Cheers!! |
After using heo and cutlass to weed our TME419 farm we apply Atrazin and paracout to further suppress the weed in readiness for the dry season and we also discover some heaps not planted because they were skipped .....so we still replanted. But when planting stem cuttings at this time the rain is subsiding it important you insert the whole stick into the soil...........reason consult our ebook |

We urge us all to do all in our capacity to keep our farm out of weed. If the crops are left to compete with weed for the available nutrient, the implication will translate in the fruit yield ....cheers!! |
Are we aware that the topography of your farmland determines what method of planting sucker you are to adopt??......a client invited kenfarm to their farm to avaluate the cause of 60% of the suckers they planted is rotening in the hole. After our evaluation, kenfarm discover the farm land topography was more like a bed with very unnoticeable stop slop preventing run off. Thus, all the water accumulate at the base of the sucker couple with the fact that the farmland is waterlog. Our recommendations was to replant the roten sucker but ensure no pothole is left round the planted sucker base to prevent accumulation of water at the sucker base and also to enhance runn off......other recommendations are ...... |

Odeyjoseph:We appreciate your interest in our services. However I must say this is not a good time to sell your tubers as the price of tubers at farm gate has crashed helplessly. In this regards I will advise you process the tubers into garri and sell off. I guess you make a little more cash this way. Kenfarm is still researching into why the cost of Tubers has crashed down and have refused to rise again since 1year now.....findings will be communicated.......... On the alternative when you disposed off tour cassava farm consider going into plantain farm Visit the link below https://www.nairaland.com/3763350/step-by-step-procedures-establishing-newly-acquired |
