Am still shaking my head at all the lack of strategic planning that goes on in that country.
Sometimes when the otherwise brilliant Fashola speaks, I wonder at times if we are looking at the same country. Where people like him get their optimism from? I will like to know.
Relying on the Ijaw areas of the Niger -delta for gas is like relying on Sambisa for tomatoes.
The whole Ijaw society is as dysfunctional as criminals masquerading as activist who are running amok in the creek .
Obasanjo did what you can refer to as strategic vandalism when he converted the coal fired egbirra thermal station to gas.
Why?
It is time for the government to stop looking for oil else where and start looking at the coal seams in Benue and kogi, and the untapped gases all over the country.
I will keep saying it. Regionalism is the answer. I don't understand why our leaders just do not want to restructure this country structurally. We cannot be doing the same thing year in year out and expect a different result. Let every region become autonomous and develop their resources. Let me see how the people of ND will standby and watch people destroy their facilities when other regions are moving forward. But now, they can do it because it affects every Nigerian. we will never move forward if we continue like this if you like carry US marines, you will even expand the problem.

Osama was a CIA agent trained by the United States. He was a very trusted agent with so many operational top secrets of the CIA(I mean war against Islam and some hypocritical mission of the US to eliminate top Muslim leaders who seems to be an obstacle to their mission).

There was a conspiracy by the USA the moment they realized they would be losing the world power if saddam hussein could accomplish the nuclear program in Iraq and on the other side, Gaddafi was trying to set up an African gold currency for crude oil trade which will ban the use of buying crude oil in African countries with the US dollars. And apparently, the gold currency will render the US dollars valueless hence why they had to take out those two (saddam and gadaffi). Saudi king sold out to the western powers along the line...

Agent Osama seem to be an insider who doesn't want to watch the USA wage war against the Muslim leaders American enemies. Somehow, things went wrong and Osama walked away, but the USA would never trust Osama with all the information he has with him having worked for the CIA, they are worried he might sell out to the enemies, so they needed a way to blackmail him in order to give them a legitimate reason to eliminate him. Hence the 911 conspiracy.

I can go on and on, but it's really deep... It's deep. The US Government is the real terrorist. lipsrsealed
Where you there or involved when all these were happening? I do not trust any government including the US but then i don't do conspiracy theory. Show quality proof and not this piece of bunkum you wrote. People just sit down in the comfort of their rooms and write shit. dem say,dem say
PoliticsRe: Saraki: Why Is Everyone Pointing Finger At Tinubu? by ken4jj(m): 12:10am On Apr 24, 2016
Gbawe:
Entirely correct. I actually feel embarrassed for those from the SE obsessed with Tinubu, constantly wishing him harm and are always keen to point the finger of blame at him. Asiwaju has no time for them and continues to do his thing while remaining a mentor to politicians who want to succeed in the very murky and mercilessly treacherous water of Nigerian politics. Is Saraki a saint? Even if Tinubu is behind the travails of Saraki, can some emotional folks tell us whether Saraki did wrong or not?

Throughout the world, because politics is an arena of gladiators, politicians plot to bring down their enemies daily. That is a political fact mature and pragmatic folks accept. If you give your political opponents that you treacherously backstabbed 'ammunition' then why scream if they use it to nail you after you stepped out of line and arrogantly trod on powerful toes as if you are invincible? When Saraki was busy conducting a treacherous and deceitful election, while embarrassing his Party before the world, did people expect the APC to accept such an embarrassment that would only set an international precedence confirming the ruling Party as weak and impotent? It seems some emotional folks don't understand how politics is played ruthlessly around the world, to include even in the finest and oldest democracies, before they come here boring about Tinubu this and Asiwaju that. As if we do not know that the constant mention of Tinubu is the painful wailing of those envious of the man's political brilliance and ability.
Why can't you guys analyze issues without bringing in tribalism? To think that people who are educated and exposed still fall for tribalism shows that there is no hope for this country. Can't you air your views without dragging people of the SE? Can you prove that the SE hates Tinubu? Or does it now mean that Tinubu does not have any opposition or hater in the whole of SW?
The problem with most of you is that you end up doing exactly the same thing you accuse others of doing instead of showing good examples. What you said would have made sense if you had not gone tribalistic. Most times, i don't understand what is difficult in making a point without tribalism.

I'd be a mad man to take such a character seriously.

Please guys, i have a half plot of land i want to develop. I am thinking of building two 3 bedroom flat that will be occupied by tenants.

First, is half plot of land enough for a simple two 3 bedroom flats (not upstairs)?

What should be the rough estimate (cost) to get it from start to finish? 3m,4m etc.

I just want to know for planning purposes.

Any suggestion for me?

Op great work the only solution to all our woes is the disintegration of the mammoth called nigeria
To me disintegration may not be the solution. We must have the right mindset first, else we will end up bringing the same problem to another front. For example, why can't people of Rivers state be smart enough to avoid bloodshed but instead are still killing themselves for Wike and Amaechi who are brothers? Tomorrow Wike and Amaechi will find themselves in the same party, becoming best of friends again, what will those idiots now do?

you hv made a strong point here...... But the highest hypocrisy in knowing fully well dat we r not united as a country, no common goals and vision, we r tribalistic, operating on a fraudulent constitution as so on....... and yet you keep preaching and believing in one Nigeria witout changing atleast d fraudulent constitution.
The issue you raised is valid but we can only solve it if people are honest and willing to stand for the truth. But this is where the problem is.Note that it is a 2 way thing. both the people who believe in one Nigeria and the people who don't believe must have a truthful and honest debate. Can this happen without people bringing in ethnicity, APC and PDP bias into it? This is what i am talking about.
PoliticsStop This Hypocrisy, Be Principled by ken4jj(op): 1:21pm On Mar 16, 2016
When you do not have principles or stand for something, you become a hypocrite. This is what I see on Nairaland daily. There just very few independent minded principled people here who do not want to be part of the APC, PDP stupidity and who do not want engage in this tribalism nonsense. For example, I don’t like commenting on this forum because if you say something against APC, you are labeled as IPOD, IPAD, Biafra, Ibo, PDP etc. while if you say against GEJ or PDP, you will be called zombie, yorober, slave, South West, APC etc. The best thing is just to watch the idiots insult themselves and make a fool of themselves. The same thing GEJ supporters did that messed up his tenure is the same thing the APC supporters are doing which will eventually mess up this regime and that is not having an iota of principle.

Nigerian youth will take a position on any matter depending on who is involved and not based on principles. Let me explain. There are 3 groups of supporters , Group A, Group B and Group C(Independent supporters)

Scenario A: I come here and say a politician bought a handkerchief for 100m without mentioning any name, all the groups will shout thief, ole, kill him etc.
Scenario 2: I come here and say Politician AAA bought the same handkerchief for 100m, Group B will say thief, ole, arrest him, probe him, send him to jail while group A will say it is a lie, propaganda, some in group A will defend him to the extent of telling you that it is possible to buy the handkerchief for 100m, it could be made of gold and someone in Japan has even bought at 150m. group A will never see it as corruption and will defend it to the last.
Scenario 3: I come in again after sometime and say that same handkerchief is bought by Politician BBB for 100m. The story will change. Group A who defended Politician A will call it corruption and call for his prosecution but Group B who called Politican A corrupt initially will defend politician B. They will call it witchunt and defend him.

. Let me bring it home. Fashola was accused of contract scam and he told us he doesn’t sign check and some people see nothing wrong and hailed him . Assume, it was not Fashola but Uduaghan in that situation and he told us he does not sign check, the same people who saw nothing wrong with Fashola will call for Uduaghan's prosecution. Now, some people are defending dasuki, metuh and the GEJ regime for blatant corruption yet the same people will call fashola a thief. This is unfortunately the kind of Hippocritic society we have and that is why we are not making any headway. From the ruling party, to opposition and their supporters, there is no truth, the end result is stalemate, I counter you, you counter me, constituting nuisance to this cyberspace.

Do you know that the children of these politicians they support and defend are multi millionaires without lifting a finger? Do you know that most have houses to their name abroad and have citizenship and access to so many countries ? Why can’t these groups of free supporters allow these politician’s children to come online and insult themselves. Wouldn’t it be nice to see fayose’s son, Metuh’s son, Wike’s son etc take on Lai Mohammed son , Fashola son, Tinunbu son etc online calling each other wailers and zombies? After all they are the ones that are enjoying the country even if dollar becomes 1m to naira, it won’t affect them. But don’t be surprised while these online soldiers are cursing each other the children of these politicians party together in Atlanta, Baltimore, London and the rest, laughing at you guys. So who now is the biggest fool?

So when next you see people forming anti corruption here, it is not because of principle but because of who is involved. Without calling monikers, you call fill in the gap of group A and group B on this forum and they are the most unpatriotic elements in this country that deserved to be taken to TBS and cut off their abunnas and breasts . I hope all of you realize your common enemy soonest.

On a final note, nairalanders, it is not late, you can redeem your image and become a real patriotic Nigerian by being a supporter based on Principles, say the truth always irrespective of who is involved and do away with this hypocrisy. Then our leaders will start getting the message that we mean business.
PoliticsRe: Power Supply Drops To 2,665MW Due To Explosions, Gas Constraint by ken4jj(m): 12:49pm On Mar 01, 2016
9japrof:
I am not a professional in the energy field but why must we continue with old ways that had been proven to be ineffective. sometimes I wonder whether this country is cursed, we have been doing this national grid stuff for many years and it is proven to be ineffective and we still insist it must work.

Why don't we unbundle the power stuff into six regions, the south south has the gas(we use the gas turbines to power electricity there) south east(Enugu) has coal, (get coal fired turbines to power electricity for the eastners {after all China and south Africa still use coal to power a large percent of their energy needs}. The north here has sun and dams (e.g Niger state with kainji, jebba, shiroro dams) use it to power the energy needs in the north. etc.

Why would we spend resources pulling energy to one national hub and still spend resources to distribute this energy and no doubt energy is been lost during the process.

People brought in APC to bring about change with the way things have been going before. the large carmotose of the national infrastructure can not be blamed on them but the truth is that it is always easy to criticize when you are not in the helm of affairs (e.g the silly sunday oliseh was so vocal during his time as a TV pundit, criticizing the then coach and the national team, Buh when he came on board he failed miserably)

Talk is cheap, I expect APC to change the political structure of this country, that is the only way we can develop, when regions compete effectively using the available resources within their regions and not depending on the entitlements from the centre, then we can grow. A million Buharis can't make Nigeria better without making the state/regions viable.

What are the advantages of unbundling Power are:

we spend less on constructing gas pipes from south to north (thereby saving foreign exchange Lol), that been said , less sabotage less maintenance.

People in the region would hold people around them accountable for the energy problems they have. people would tend to protect power facilities in their area cos they know that if it is vandalised they suffer it.

Common sense ain't common
You just nailed it. For how long will our power generation will be rising and falling like a Peni55? Today rise, tomorrow fall. I don't know why our leaders cannot try a different approach to national problems. I'm so ashamed of this country. I have traveled to several countries in different continents and this is the only place i have seen generators. I keep trying so hard not to believe that the black man does not have the capability of solving any problem. Common light, Bangladesh take for granted, Nigeria does not have. na waa ooo

Mr David Ahmed Okoro started the day early, having set his alarm clock (MADE IN FINLAND) for 6am. While his teapot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his clipper (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on his shirt (MADE IN THE UK), and designer jeans (MADE IN ITALY) and shoes (MADE IN THE USA).

After cooking his breakfast in his new electric cooker (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his wristwatch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to his radio (MADE IN VIETNAM) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) filled with petrol imported from (SAUDI ARABIA) and continued his search for a good paying NIGERIAN job...

At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his computer (MADE IN MALAYSIA), Mr David Ahmed Okoro decided to relax for a while. He put on his slippers (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN SOUTH AFRICA), while fiddling with his mobile phone (MADE IN SOUTH KOREA), and then wondered why he cant find a good paying job in... NIGERIA.

He felt achy and sore in his left kneel, he decided to take one tablet of his TRAMADOL TABLETS (MADE IN BANGLADESH) to relieve the pain. Lying down on his bed and wondering why NIGERIAN External Foreign Reserve has depleted to under $ 28billion which has translated to free fall depreciation of Nigerian NAIRA to US DOLLAR at PARALLEL MARKET.......

Fellow Nigerians, let's us start producing, let us start buying made in NIGERIA goods If our economy is to grow and create better jobs.

How can a country like Nigeria be importing toothpick, cutting bud, cotton wool, matches, rubber band e.t.c? And we complain at d same time that there is no jobs for our teeming youths?

The situation is even pathetic now when you see Nigerians ( in Lagos) prefer Cotonou garri to that of Ijebu, buy cotonou pineapple and they say it is better than that of Nigeria. That is why frozen foods will be exported to Cotonou from farms like that of obasanjo repacked and imported back to Nigeria because they know Nigerians always prefer made in outside Nigeria goods .
That is why you will see an expatriate renumeration will be juicy than that of his Nigeria counterpart even if that Nigerian is more certificated than d expatriate ( This also happen in government parastatals).

Any nation that import majorly foreign made goods/ services rather than producing their own are hurting its people....

When we keep importing foreign made products into Nigeria, we keep importing poverty into our country and exporting jobs abroad...

Let's go back to the land to grow and patronise MADE IN NIGERIA products...

PLEASE SHARE FREELY TO ENLIGHTEN ALL NIGERIANS.
You made a valid point about Nigerians attitude towards foreign goods. While it is true, it is a small issue that can be forcefully corrected if we get things right as a country. Our greatest problem is that we do not have the capacity for real production in this country. Even if we ban all foreign goods, we do not even have the capacity to sustain the country and this is because we do not have the infrastructures. Manufacturing is a serious business. I will only take the country serious when we have common light and other supporting infrastructure that will bring down cost of doing business here. i am talking from experience.

Dolypson04:
Some days ago, I asked a crucial question asking about how the likes of Korea survive the ridiculous increase in dollars to their Korean Won. (1USD = 1033 Korean Won).
If they could be living at least far better than us in terms of economy, livelihood, power, etc. Then I think there should be a way out for us too. But first of all. we have to experience a shift from consuming nation to manufacturing nation.
Manufacturing is not moimoi like people look at it. The cost of doing business in this country is too high and that is why importation is even flourishing. The world is now a global village. What you manufacture in Nigeria should be competitive with the rest of the world. If it cost N100 to produce a product here and it cost N50 to bring it to the nigerian market from elsewhere, which one will consumers want?
For example, i have worked in manufacturing companies and it came a time when our manufacturing cost was compared to our 8 other branches in Asia, Europe and South America and we found out that our cost per carton was 3 times more expensive than the nearest one. The Global top directors were contemplating reducing our capacity here in Nigeria and increasing the ones in Asia so that the can produce a part of our volumes and ship to us. i do not know how it went because i left shortly.
What i'm trying to say is that the most important issue for our manufacturing here is lack of supporting infrastructures. I remember our yearly energy budget was so high because of diesel and Gas. So until we can compete in cost with the rest of the world, forget it we can not make headway in manufacturing because it will be too expensive and importers will take advantage of it to bring cheaper products. But if our cost of production can compete with others, importation will die a natural death as it will be cheaper to produce locally. Why do you think that American Companies are flooding China? It is because it is cheaper to produce in China due to their low cost of labour. Will you say Americans in China are not patriotic? The loyalty of a business man lies in his profit and not sentiments. The earlier we fix our infrastructures, they better.

You won't believe I don't do all those traffic, PR, ... stuff. The main thing I am concerned about is ensuring it is a sweet domain name, and that it has not been used in spamming etc. Maybe it is because we deal with strictly business names. Also I have a mind tuned to and use a set of rules to choose names.

That acnadian name to me is a bad name. I added it to illustrate a point.

I don't understand your point at Namecheap. I hope you aren't referring to their market. I only said to use namecheap to register .com domains at normal prices and not buying premium names there.

Why do you want to backorder? If it is not a domain name that will end up as thousands of dollars worth, I don't think backordering is a great idea. There are so many good names that you can get through other means.
Please can you explain the concept of backordering. What is the procedure like? How is it done. Thanks

I don't have any choice than to conclude that islam means terror. How many more people will die in the name of Islam for the world to know peace? When you think you have seen the last attack from islamic terrorist, another one comes up. From Africa to America to Europe to Asia to Australia to Middle East, every one is bearing the brunt of Islam.

Gentlemen and Ladies, this islamic threat is closer than you think. Just imagine you work for a multinational and you were sent on training or conference in mali. Your employers wanted to give you the best possible comfort and they booked a room for you at the Raddison Blue Hotel and all of a sudden these terrorist showed up. You can't recite a koran, booom!!! you are dead.Just like that. This is how fearful the world is right now. islam has made every where unsafe.

These days, every muslim i see reminds me of terrorism. I get so uncomfortable seeing them at the airport each time i fly because you never can tell. But one thing is sure. They are pushing the entire world into taking a drastic decision. Very soon, since we cannot differentiate they so called moderates and terrorists among them, there will be a total isolation of muslims all over the world.
In fact, If it is possible, lets divide this world and let muslims stay on their own. Ban them from entering a plane, ban them from all public gathering and places. Just ban the hell out of them.
The good thing is that there is no world power that is an islamic nation. From china, Russia, EU,America, Japan etc, they all face the same monster so very soon the world will unite to fight this cancer that is deadlier than Ebola and every other thing combined.

How do you start? I will suggest you go to any First Bank branch. Open an account with them if you don't already have, deposit the amount you would like to invest, apart from your minimum balance; request for the Tbills form, complete and submit. Then wait.

Note:
1) Any account type can be used for Tbills
2) I have suggested First bank because, they accept as low as N100,000.00 and they also bid for their clients.
What is the rate of return for Tbills, say N300k worth ?
