ALISMILE: My bro ur post reek of ignorance! U said the blame game shud stop but I think it hasn't even started! The atrocities of d west which has tremendously brought in its wake an upsurge in terror activities is not bieng highlighted like it ought to be! It has consistently been downplayed and its effect has gone unhighlighted! No country has been able to stand up to d US and tell them to stop their distabilisation agenda! Iraq, Libya and now Syria and here u are saying we shud nt make blames! How wrong u re friend! Its not as if Muslim countries cannot find Christians to help carry out terrorism in christian lands but the muslim countries re not interested in that because they stand to gain nothing frm that! The world needs to join Iran in standing up to d US and its support for terror! The West open support for Terroist in Syria under the tag of support for moderate militants, is not getting enough condemnation! Many of us try so hard to differentiate islam with terrorism but it is people like you who make people lump all muslims together as terrorists. None of you have condemned it rather it has been US, US and US. Aren't you guys tired? let's us bring it home. What of the religious killings in Nigeria, Danish carton riot, miss world riot and many others. is it still the US? Make no mistake, the US interest is evil, that we all know but are you guys going to be constituting nuisance with your suicide bombing and barbarism all over the world forever? Okay, if it is about confronting the US, why go after innocent people enjoying their lives in paris? Why not bomb pentagon? Why is boko haram killing Nigerians? You people need to work on yourselves first. This is getting out of hand. from middle east to Asia to Europe to America to Africa, Islamic terrorism is causing so much devastation and yet you guys don't see there is a problem? Na waa ooo. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Terrorist Attack In Paris Leaves 40 Dead And 100 Hostages by ken4jj(m): 11:54am On Nov 14, 2015 |
Shymm3x: The US created all these terrorists.
Take a look at Syria for example: if the country had been left alone there won't be neither ISIS nor Al Nusra and the refugee crisis. Who turned Syria into a shytehole? - the US. There's absolutely no way Europe would've shut its doors on these refugees, so they had to take them in.
Brev, sending 1 billion troops to Iraq/Syria won't solve the problem till the US stops meddling in foreign countries; reins the CIA in; and bomb Saudi Arabia and Qatar (the two axis of evil). Till then, we'll always have these problems. Even as i agree with you that the US role in the middle east has created some of these terrorist but for how long are we going to keep putting the blame on the US? The stupidity, arrogance, selfish interests of the US should not and never be an excuse for the Muslim world to become terrorists. If elites like you simply blame the US alone without actually condemning this terrorists, it will be an indirect way of giving them moral support and this madness will continue. Somebody should tell these guys that since they want to become terrorist because of the US, they should target the pentagon, Air force 1, white house, Us soldiers and leave innocent civilians alone. Why waste the lives of innocent people when even most of them hate their govt because of its stupid role in the world. One day Europe will slide to conservatives and start deporting Muslims back to their country. Attacks like this is a reminder to the free world that there is possibility that there is something fundamentally wrong with Islam. Remember the religious riots in the north. Or is the Danish carton riot a fault of the US too? At some point, the past needs to be erased so that a better future will be created. Japan was nuked by the same Evil US, yet Japan has let go the past and has built a prosperous nation afterwards. i am sure that if Japan was an islamic nation, that would have been an excuse for Japanese citizens to embrace terrorism since it will be comfortable to blame the US. I am sick and tired of Islamic terrorism worldwide. somebody should tell these guys, US evil interest should not be an excuse to destroy and kill. if the Muslim world cannot sponsor Christians to become terrorists and suicide bombers, when then should they allow themselves to be sponsored for terrorism except there is something fundamentally wrong with Islam. |

Politics › Re: Biafra: PDP Cautions Buhari, APC by ken4jj(m): 7:46pm On Nov 07, 2015 |
It is human nature that whenever some group of people feel aggrieved or marginalized with the system, they seek for independence. Therefore there is no big deal about this IPOB stuff. The truth is that as Africans, our mentality is the worst, so it doesn't matter if every family gets independence, it would change nothing. look at south Sudan for example. It is the igbos today but i tell you if tables turn in Nigeria today and the south west or the north find themselves in a disadvantaged position, some of them would start agitating for secession. so it is just a matter of interest. However, how we handle this issue as a nation is what matters. The UK has been able to teach the world how secession issue can be solved. If the almighty UK can entertain the idea of breakup why not Nigeria that has nothing to show for. I was in the UK shortly before the Scottish referendum was announced and if judge from what some scottish guys i met talk, you would think that the UK will break up but we can all see what happened. The truth is that even among the igbos, there are many people who are not interested in this biafra stuff so why can't we follow the British model and put this whole shit out once and for all? 1.The government should call the leaders of IPOB and other igbo leaders for meeting 2. Let us be clear on the boundary, where the so called Biafra is. I am sure majority of the south south are not interested although some prefer to join but it should be clear from the begining. 3. Schedule a referendum maybe in 2017, let the common man decide their fate. 4. let there be debate and campaign in the east on this issue before the vote. let the people know what the stand to gain and lose if they secede. I put it to you that any vote will return a NO at the end of the day and this issue will die a natural death. Then it will be an opportunity to work out how this country is going to progress moving forward.
But if the government decides to solve this rebellion by force, then we risk another civil war and it is going to be a lose lose as today's civil war will be different from 1967 except the government is ready for a genocide. |

arabianights: yeah!! thats a good one but for some one to claim giving his bvn lead to clearing account is just not it.as am talking to you now, i dont have on line banking or even atm !!! i worked in the bank and know the great disadvantages as well as advantages of this.
am just into traditional banking.highest i can go for is a card account where i will just put money i might need when i travel out.Even this card account get im own issue.Nigeria n banks are just to ready to spend money to secure their customers .i was discissing with a staff of HSBC one time and realised that the reason for these high rates of on line fraud is because nigerian banks are not willing to spend money on somesecurity measures/soft wares out there at our own detriment You are right. BVN has nothing to do with the OTP. They just tried their luck using the BVN talk, unfortunately, the op did not think through and he fell for it. It can happen to anybody especially when you are off guard and unsuspecting. Did you say you don't even have an ATM card? waoo. I hate banking halls so much that for the past six years, i have not gone inside the banking hall to deposit or withdraw. I do online banking all through and use ATM to withdraw. |

JAZES: One of our readers sent this in and i think its very important that you all go through it so that you dont fall victim too because this is to real for someone not to fall victim. Kindly read below:
“From a friend……..Good morning Please read this carefully, it may save you a few hundred, or a few thousand, or may be a few million bucks. It’s a personal experience, a true event that happened this afternoon. I am Sunday Adewole, I just fell victim of fraudsters a few hours ago. I am an account holder with StanbicIBTC bank, I am trying to put fund together to pay for my daughter’s tuition fee in CU in which case the institution already resumed last week. Yesterday afternoon, I got a call from somebody purportedly from StanbicIBTC who said “Am I speaking with Dr. Adewole” (called out my other names) to which I answered in the affirmative. He said he called in respect of my BVN which I was observed not to have done, I replied that I already had it done with Skye bank and he said the bank will send me a link so that my account with Stanbic will be linked with the BVN. True to our conversation, I receive a message from StanbicIBTC in which an OTP was sent to my phone. A few minutes later, he called to ask if I got the the SMS, I told him yes but I can’t do anything about it cos I was driving. He said no problem I should call out the numbers which I did and he thanked me for my cooperation in a customer service manner. I heard nothing since then till this afternoon at precisely 13:00 hrs when I received a SMS from StanbicIBTC informing me of a debit transaction which cleared my account to the lowest thousand, i.e. I was left with a paltry N685 (six hundred and eighty five naira). I called my account officer who confirmed to me that I have fallen victim of fraudsters and he checked up on my account and saw that the recipient acct is in First Bank. My puzzle is how did they get my account details? How were they able to generate an OTP to my phone. I am waiting to see what my bank would do on it. In the mean time, please be aware of what the 419 people can do. I’ll keep you posted on any new development.” http://www.onlineleaks247.com/index.php/2015/11/02/on-going-bvn-scam-even-the-most-cautious-person-will-fall-for-this-one/
CC: lalasticlala lala, kindly put this out there to keep people informed. Thanks Did you subscribe for online banking? If yes, i think what happened is that the officer that enrolled you into the online banking got your password when doing it. When i wanted to enrol for online banking at StanbicIBTC, the person incharge wanted to do it for me and i refused, he now wanted me to do it on his computer and i refused. what is the big deal that i cannot do in registering my account for online banking i asked him. at the end of the day, i did it myself. If he did it for me and mistakenly grab the password i was entering into the system with that there sharp eyes, the only thing he needs to transfer money out of my account will be the OTP. So in your case, he tricked you into supplying your OTP as he logged into your account and that was all he needed. GTB online platform is better, before you can transfer money out of the account, you need the password, the answer to the secret question and a generated pin from your token. So unless somebody gets all these,he cant transfer money out. I will have to move my money from Stanbic to GTB with this development. |

Actually, i accepted the job but the materials available to the the job is very scanty as i have now found out. I just can't deliver what he wants because there are few resources out there to help. So, i just want to end the project and cancel his milestone. Will it affect me? Will it count as incomplete and reduce my completion rate? Will i still get a negative review for it? I just need to understand my options. |

Godmother: Yes, you can tell the employer to cancel, but they are more likely to just award the project to another freelancer instead of cancelling. What they do is cancel the milestone they set for you. Canceling the project could mean having $5 deducted from the employer's account (I'm not sure about this, though and I stand to be corrected).
If you have accepted the project prior to now, you will lose the project fee deducted from your account cos FL wnt refund that to u. If you haven't, then you don't really lose anything. But if you keep rejecting awarded projects, you could lose your credibility with employers. And if they have a way of communicating with each other like we do on this forum where we warn ourselves not to work for some particular employers, it may affect you. Thanks, the job has been accepted already |

bigfizh: the minimum tenure for Time fixed deposit is 30 days, while its 7days for Call fixed deposit, the 7% is per annum but later analysed into months or days, depends. meanwhile, see an example if you were to book your 700k at 7% for a tenure of 30days in the bank.
Amount Invested: NGN700,000 Effective Date: : October 5, 2015 Interest Rate: : 7% per annum Tenor: : 30 days Maturity date: November 4, 2015 Value at Maturity: NGN4,027.39:
this is calculated as : 7 divided by 100 multiply #700,000 divided by 365 days(annum) multiply 30 days(tenor) = NGN4,027.39:
Note that the accrued interest is subject to 10% Withholding tax, and if you liquidate before expiration of the tenure, you will be charged 20%. Thanks for clarification. That means N700k for one year will only yield N4k. I have always known that fixed deposit only makes sense for big players with hundreds of millions. just wanted to confirm that. |
