SW
The South is based on my educated guess. People in the SW like Jonathan, they will not vote for PDP for gov or senate but they will vote for Jonathan because they like his name Goodluck and they think he is a Messiah. Jonathan will get 55%, Ribadu gets 32%, Buhari 8%, and Shekarau 5%. (Buhari got 7% in Lagos in 2003).

^^^
That was a good prediction except that you underestimated Buhari in the SW especially Lagos. The SW has a soft spot for GEJ (according to my private research) but I think you over estimated him there especially after the "rascal" statement.
Well, turns out he didn't.

Foolish Southwest! Where is their political "savvyness" in this now? The North never forgets hurriedly and in the scheme of things, we need the North to return to power. They have always aligned with us but now we have betrayed them.

The North would be sure to frustrate our efforts for presidency from now on. We know that now, they will never vote a S Easterner but we need the North. However this alignment with the SS is going to cost us dearly because we know that the Easterner s who can never taste power would not vote a Yoruba man due to their sheer hatred for us.

Bad move SW.
Stockholm Syndrome toh badt grin

EvilBrain1:
In the spirit of ethnic bigotry, here's my analysis of what will happen in the next few years.

SS
Jonathan's campaign took money from the oil companies so we can guarantee that there will be no end to gas flaring anytime soon. There will also be no serious attempt to clean up the pollution there. Also, GEJ's nonexistent anticorruption record will ensure that the next generation of James Iboris will have little to fear. The Niger Delta people don't even have MEND to fight for them anymore. They are, as always, screwed.

SE
Not much will change here. The PDP will zone all the NASS leadership posts away from there and in exchange they will get 1 or 2 of the juicer ministerial posts. Also, no Igbo man will smell the inside of Aso Rock for the next 30 or so years. GEJ has used their "turn" and will serve 8 years (regardless of what the guy says), then the north for 8 years, then the Yorubas, then the north again, then finally, maybe the Igbos. Corruption at the national level will continue to stagnate the local economy.

SW
Policically savvy, these guys will have their interests taken care of. Plus the ACN governors will make sure there is at least some development at local level. There will still be no light or jobs though.

The North
As always, the ruling class will be well taken care of. The ordinary people will continue to suffer.

In Summary
The biggest winners today will turn out to be the biggest losers as Nigeria's kleptocracy adjusts to the new system. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
Lwkmd. So much for "politically savvy" SW.
PDP just won some more states in the region grin

PoliticsRe: Why I Picked Osinbajo As My Running Mate– Buhari by Kenai: 9:08pm On Dec 17, 2014
Engnrcollins:
The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari, has given reasons why he picked Yemi Osinbajo as his running mate as he bids again become Nigeria’s president.

While presenting Mr. Osinbajo to the media at the national secretariat of the APC in Abuja, Mr. Buhari said his running mate was chosen because of his impeccable integrity and excellent background.

“He is an excellent professional, a man of faith, a devoted family man and a role model to our fellow countrymen and women,” he said.
He also said Mr. Osinbajo is a professor of law and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, adding also that he is an alumnus of the University of Lagos and the London School of Economics, a prodigious author who has to his credit several books on civil procedure in Nigerian superior courts.

“The vice-presidential candidate is a friend of the less-privileged, compassionate and zealous in service, a man of uncommon humility, a loyal, dependable and selfless patriot,” he said.

Mr. Buhari also stated that with his choice of deputy, the real task rescuing Nigeria and changing the country for good has just begun.

He promised to fulfil all the promises he made after his emergence as APC flag bearer and thanked all those who supported him in the process.

“The huge outpouring of support and acceptance has been a great encouragement to me and hardened my resolve to lead the process of rebuilding a new Nigeria and securing our future,” he said.

In a brief remark after his introduction, Mr. Osinbajo said he has accepted his nomination gladly and happily and thanked all concerned and stated that his selection as a vice presidential candidate by Mr. Buhari and the APC is a great honour.

“There can be no other president, leader and commander that can lead that common sense revolution which Nigeria urgently needs than Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. I will proudly serve this country with him,” he said.

Also speaking earlier, the national chairman of the APC, John Oyegun, who formally presented Mr. Buhari before the media as the candidate of the APC, also said with a full team on ground, the party is ready to kick start its campaign.

I read this post, and there wasn't one single mention of Amaechi!

Chai!!!
Not one!
After all the money he spent! shocked

During the primaries, he went to Lagos with virtually the entire Rivers State GDP, to match Atiku dollar for dollar!
And now, it looks like he has not only matched Atiku dollar for dollar, but also FAILURE FOR FAILURE!

Elections are just 2 months away, and they're not decided on the pages of Nairaland. So, don't say I didn't warn you when the chickens come home to roost.
Amaechi is a spectacular failure, and in roughly 72 days from now, the people of Rivers will ship the Taxi Driver and his houseboy Dakuku out of the state, in that monorail of his that leads to nowhere.

So the fact that amaechi supported Buhari now translates to being used and dumped. Someone who is in control of the party structure in his state?? A man that would always be remembered as being fearless unlike Babangida Aliyu(Niger state) and Sule lamido (Jigawa) who are scared of leaving PDP because of GEJ's Unknown Punishment. Lest I forget , what will GEJ be remembered for after leaving Aso rock next year
He's in control of the party structure in his state because he and his bootlickers are virtually the only APC members in Rivers State (Fact! 2015 will make this clearer), and come next year, those "party structures" will collapse on him and bury the poor sod for good.

TV/MoviesChimamanda's Novel "Americanah" Is Getting A Hollywood Adaptation! by Kenai(op): 1:17am On Dec 17, 2014
Lupita Nyong'o is set to reteam with Brad Pitt's Plan B production company on the drama 'Americanah'.

Plan B, which produced 12 Years a Slave, has acquired big-screen rights to the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie-penned novel and will produce alongside D2 Prods. and Potboiler Prods. (The Last King of Scotland, Generation Kill).

Lupita Nyong'o, who won the best supporting
actress prize in March for her turn in Steve
McQueen's 12 Years a Slave, is set for a lead
role in Americanah, and will also produce it.

"It is such an honour to have the opportunity
to bring Ms Adichie's brilliant book to the
screen," Nyong'o said. "Page after page, I
was struck by Ifemelu and Obinze's stories,
whose experiences as African immigrants are
so specific and also so imminently relatable.
It is a thrilling challenge to tell a truly
international story so full of love, humour
and heart."

Americanah is the epic love story of young Nigerians, a romance that spans continents, visas, phone cards and breakups, while exploring the cruelties and the humor of both the modern immigrant experience and the difficulty of finding your way home. The novel was the winner of the 2013 National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction and was selected as one of the 10 best books of the year byThe New York Times Book Review, the BBC andNewsday.

Adichie is the MacArthur Fellowship-winning author of the novels Purple Hibiscus and Half of a Yellow Sun, the film adaptation of which recently premiered in the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
