OrlandoOwoh:My guy, no need to get confrontational. What I just stated is a glaring fact. Nigeria is a highly tribalistic country, and the questions won't be based on whose duty it is to safeguard the country from attackers, but on "What tribe are those attackers from?" Sentiments are really high in the Middle Belt right now, and I don't see those people ever wanting anything to do with Fulanis for now. Buhari's previous statements on the killing of Boko Haram operatives being "genocide" will still come back to seriously haunt him on February. Majority of the voters in the Middle-Belt won't be the pseudo-intellectuals voting on internet polls, but will be the many farmers whose houses and farms these Fulani cattle herders raze everyday. This is a statement of fact. Buhari is finished in the Middle Belt. Tribalism will come into play. |
Buhari will lose this state with an astronomically high margin if tribal sentiments are brought in. No offence. |
GEJ till 2019. No two ways about it. Northerners should have asked their governors and LG chairmen what they were doing when Boko Haram was still at its infancy. As for the many parents of the kidnapped children as well as the newly kidnapped 185 women in the North? My advice to them is to "get over it" and "move on". Igbo people were told the same when millions of their innocent women and children were killed by cowardly people who felt all was fair. You think your lives mean a thing to the country? Those Chibok children were always going to be child brides who would be consigned to a fate of popping out useless almajiri children anyways. Frankly, I don't give a damn. #GEJ2015 |
OdenigboAroli:No bro. Your existence is an insult to humanity, because we're forced to put up with bloody iiidiiots like you. I repeat, if you truly are a grown man, then you really should be ashamed of yourself and your disgraceful, primitive mindset. Ihere onwe gi megbukwaa gi, agadi nwoke n'agwo ofe. Shame. |
OdenigboAroli:This guy reasons like a real caveman. Shame on you and your moooronic generalization. So, Rochas Okorocha is now the whole of "Imo"? What a moorron for real. If you're indeed a grown man, you ought to be ashamed of yourself for the sort of iidiotic logic you live by. So, TA Orji now stands for the whole of Abia? When Orji fired those non-Abians, did you, at any point in time, go out to guage opinions of the Abia indigenes in the streets regarding that issue? Because if you did, you would have known they were strongly against it. It's mooorons like you who breed unnecessary enmity amongst your community members as a result of the chip on your shoulder. Your posts so far have not presented you as a human being with even the slightest trace of mental balance. You are an iiidiiot in all ramifications! |
Qelvin:I merely pointed out the fallacy in your post. I have a baptismal name of Hebrew origin. That doesn't mean I'm Israeli. Let it go, dude. |
Qelvin:This is wrong. Because, if your username is anything to go by, then your name is most likely "Kelvin" - an English name - but that doesn't make you English. Northerners have names like "Mohammed" and "Abdul" - names of Arabic origin - But that doesn't make them Arabs. Leave people alone to be what they want to be. It's not by force. Have some pride, dude. |
Truckpusher:I just scanned my post for a 4th time and saw no traces of profanity to merit the "curses and fuming" tag. What I did see, however, was a section of the post that attributed the "ignorance" to you... Which, in itself, is a statement of fact. ...You dig? |
Truckpusher:The only thing that smacks of ignorance is you. If you weren't in such a hurry to quote and reply, you would have realized I said it was "more believable" (NOT accurate) than the one Ngwakwe posted, as this map compiles them based on language. The image is in the public domain, and was merely hot-linked. I didn't assign the regions in that map. Also, if you could read properly, you would have seen "Igbanke" on that map as well, even though they don't generally acknowledge themselves as Igbo. Remove Etche, Igbanke, Obigbo and possibly a few others, and it would be good to go. The map is by NO means accurate, but it is simply more believable than the previous one that comprised Ijaw, Ogoni, Annang, Ibibio and Efik regions. Do you now understand? |
Ngwakwe:Ngwakwe, what sort of stupidd map is this? Please, pull that rubbish down. You're the reason this thread is about to get derailed. This is a more believable map. Please get it right. www.nairaland.com/attachments/1958144_igboclans_jpegff4ca12e5059ae1392e9f353b0f0bc51 |
I'm all for Igbo solidarity, but I don't believe in Biafra. "Biafra", at the time, comprised Ikwerreland, Opobo, Kalabari, Ogoni and the other non-Igbo ethnic groups who would rather go for self-determination. So I don't understand why you'd want to forcefully lump them into the union. Why not have some dignity and leave those people alone? It's not by force, for goodness sake. I've never seen Ogoni people pushing for this "Biafra" thing, so why not leave it alone and push for a more noble cause - Proper integration within Alaigbo. "Alaigbo" makes more sense to me anyday, and as a proud Igbo man, that is a cause I'd rather support. To hell with "Biafra". Long live Alaigbo. |

Okay, Ngwakwe. Thanks for putting the post back up. But I'm really curious... Who really hid it, and why? |
ACM10:Okay. Possibly. I just thought Vanbonattel was banned or something. |
EvilBrain1:Until you have actually visited and examined all the states in Nigeria, you are not in any position to conclude that a region has "more functional state governments" unless you're basing your beliefs on the loud and noisy propaganda constantly crapped out on the pages of Nairaland. For a more serious argument, you'd have to list out the areas in which the governments in the region are performing above the others. Education and National test Scores? Security? Health? Housing? Job Security? One can't just arrive at a conclusion without adequate facts and figures, and that's the truth. as well as the frequency with which they vote out incumbents. Even the Fayose's "stomach infrastructure" win proves this since Fayemi's academic style and long term policies alienated a lot of people who wanted to see immediate, tangible benefits. In contrast, other regions tend to either vote the same party every election regardless of performance, or vote according to parochial sentiments which is why their politicians are less inclined to actually serve the ordinary people. The Imo State incumbent governor (Ikedi Ohakim of the PDP) also lost his re-election bid to Rochas Okorocha of APGA, despite his numerous urban beautification projects. But ummm... Last I checked, Imo State was nowhere close to the South West. Also, if my memory serves me well, the Anambra State incumbent Mbadinuju also lost his re-election bid in 2003. It's a fallacy to even conclude that losing your re-election is a sign of political enlightenment on the part of the electorate. For all we know, it just might mean the people have been frustrated to their breaking point, don't you think so? |
This thread really got raped. ![]() |
ACM10:Me finks that's Vanbonattell. |
Oh no! You mean the "land-locked" countries of Botswana and Rwanda are thriving while our country isn't? But... But... That's impossible! Nairaland has always told me that being "land-locked" is the greatest damnation on earth, and that life starts and ends in the coast! *goes back to listening to "Teacher, Don't Teach Me Nonsense" by Fela Kuti* |
I saw this one last year: https://www.hopefornigeriaonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/ACN-ARE-CURRUPT.jpg Today, he not only dines with the same people, but even has their oga kpata kpata choosing his running mate for him. What a man of integrity! BuhaRETARD! SIGH BUHARI! |

EvilBrain1:"Political savvy"? Nah bro. The SW is only "Rice savvy" if the Ekiti and Osun elections are anything to go by. ![]() Oh, and you seem to forget that, just like the Yoruba, there are Igbos in PDP, APGA and APC as well. So I fail to see where the false sense of exceptionalism comes from. Notwithstanding, it's still your opinion, and you have a right to it. Cheers. |
hazyfm:You're right. Buhari is a SIMPLETON. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B5EV8HEIgAAsoyp.jpg |
Phantomine:So, when the Igbos voted Obasanjo, were they blinded by "Biafranism"? When the same Igbos voted Yar'Adua, were they still blinded by this same "Biafranism"? When the hypocritical Yorubas voted Obasanjo over the Messiah Buhari they're hyping today, were they looking out for a better Nigeria? Why can't you worthless and spineless iidiots stand on your own without crying about what the Igbos choose to do with their votes? If you are that convinced that your Buhari is so loved by Nigerians around the country, why are you still shhitting bricks over Igbos? Surely, the 'massive' votes from the imaginary pan-Nigerian tribes should off-set the Igbo deficit, no? My brother, you are an irredeemable moooron! |
Evathyst:The amount of ignorance exuded by the average Yoruba is unmatchable. |
