When you register your business or organization as a charity or NGO, it means that whatever funds that comes in and goes is for the public and NOT for your personal use. You are accountable to the public. In exchange the government exempts you from paying tax. That is how it works

This is how it works globally, including the UK, US etc.

Religious organizations and their businesses worldwide also register as charities and NGOs and that is why no church, mosque etc or any of their establishments pays tax.

Now it is the duty of the government to regulate these bodies who don't pay tax by making sure that the funds they generate rightly goes back to the public and not for personal gain.

This is the reason why CAMA was created

Now the question is why are only the Pentecostal pastors shouting? Why is the Catholic Church not complaining? Why are the rest Orthodox and Presbyterian churches not complaining? Because I don't get it, these same pastors shouting here all have branches abroad and they dutifully obey the laws there like lambs but when they come to Nigeria they want to be lawless.

These same pastors rejecting CAMA now have all been involved in fraud due to misappropriation of funds in the UK.

Ashimolowo was sanctioned by the UK government over fraud. CAMA was what gave him out!

These people know that once you implement CAMA here as is obtainable in the UK and the rest, they are finished and that's why they are fighting and kicking. They discuss all manner of things, ranging from how she misses him and wished she had waited for him.

I was about saying this. Aside those FLYOVERS, I think Uyo is still largely a slum, because even beside those roads and FLYOVERS you will continue to see slum settlements everywhere in the state. AKWAIBOM people outside of their state are not different, they live in batches, shanties etc.

95% of AKWAIBOM people are so poor despite the huge oil revenue that accrues to the state.

AKWAIBOM state government should prioritise human capital development and education. Building multiple airport terminals, FLYOVER, bridge, stadia etc, can never be useful to an average AKWAIBOM indigene because most of them are still very poor and cannot even afford air ticket.

Who told you that majority of Akwa Ibomites are poor? this is very wrong. if you want to see poverty and shanty houses go to the South east. check poverty in the North, and also consider brown zinc and rusted houses in the West.

My brother you don't understand, to be candid, there is ethnicity in the south south, the Ijaws and the akwa Ibomites are not in terms. Ijaw from Bayelsa or Delta even Rivers State would never allow anybody from akwa Ibom or Cross River to head the Niger delta ministry. The first Minister of the NDDC the late chief Uffot Ekaette was removed because the Ijaws protested against him with all kinds of allegations, just because he is from Akwa Ibom. And the minister was removed by late president Umaru Yaradua. And Ijaw man was appointed. The same thing is about to repeat. They want Akpabio to be removed for another Ijaw man. We the Akwa Ibomites we know this, we are all saying no. Enough is enough.
Secondly, the forensic auditing of the NDDC account approved by the president Buhari. They know a lot of them would be exposed. They want to distract the process by accusing Akpabio of corruption.
