Victoria Station in London where the Congolese woman, Belly worked before her death
|
A Congolese woman who worked as railway ticket officer at Victoria station in London has died of coronavirus after being deliberately spat at by a man who claimed he had Covid-19. Belly Mujinga, 47, who had underlying respiratory problems, was working at Victoria station in London in March when she was assaulted, along with a female colleague. Within days of the incident, both women fell ill with the virus. British Transport Police said an inquiry had been launched to trace the man who spat at the pair. Mrs Mujinga was on the concourse of Victoria station on 22 March when she was approached by the suspect. Her husband Lusamba Gode Katalay said the man had asked his wife what she was doing and why she was there. “She told him she was working and the man said he had the virus and spat on her,” he added. Mrs Mujinga was admitted to Barnet Hospital on 2 April and was put on a ventilator. But she died three days later, the Transport Salaried Staffs Association (TSSA), said. Mr Katalay said he called his wife on a video app when she was in hospital, but didn’t hear from her again. “I thought she might be asleep, but the doctor phoned me to tell me she had died,” he said. “She was a good person, a good mother, and a good wife. She was a caring person and would take care of everybody.” Ten people attended Mrs Mujinga’s funeral, including her 11-year-old daughter TSSA general secretary Manuel Cortes said: “We are shocked and devastated at Belly’s death. She is one of far too many front-line workers who have lost their lives to coronavirus.” The union added that there were “serious questions about her death”. “As a vulnerable person in the ‘at-risk’ category, and her condition known to her employer, there are questions about why she wasn’t stood down from frontline duties early on in this pandemic,” Mr Cortes said. Ms Mujinga’s employer, Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), said it “took any allegations extremely seriously” and that it was investigating all claims. Angie Doll, of GTR, said: “The safety of our customers and staff, who are key workers themselves, continues to be front of mind at all times and we follow the latest government advice.” Mrs Mujinga moved to the UK from the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2000 as a political refugee. https://alternativeafrica.com/2020/05/12/congolese-woman-dies-of-coronavirus-in-london-after-being-deliberately-spat-at-by-man-with-covid-19/

In a shocking case of negligence, a COVID-19 positive man was found dead at a bus stand in Ahmedabad, days after he tested positive for the virus. The 67-year-old was admitted at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital on May 10 where he tested positive for COVID-19. But on Saturday he along with five others were discharged from the hospital and was to be sent to home isolation as they were asymptomatic. All were to observe seven-day self-isolation according to ICMR discharge protocol. They were taken on an AMC bus and the 67-year-old was dropped at the Danilimda BRTS bus stand after reportedly told the staff that he lives nearby at Rohit Park Society, and he would walk home. His body was discovered by a security guard, who tried to wake him up, thinking that he was sleeping. The body was taken to the hospital and the doctors found a note in his pocket which had his son's number written on it. When contacted by the hospital, the family was left shocked to know about his death. They also alleged that they were kept in the dark for days about his health condition after he was admitted in the hospital. They also claimed that they were not informed that their father was discharged from the hospital. One of his sons also told the media that despite his father testing positive for COVID-19 no safety protocol was followed in his cremation. He alleged that the hospital asked them to warp the body with plastic sheets and conduct the cremation. After the incident triggered massive outrage in the state, Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani appointed J P Gupta, commissioner, commercial tax, to probe the incident and submit a report within 24 hours. Jayanti Ravi, principal secretary (health & family welfare) said that ‘stringent action’ will be initiated against those responsible. This is the second time the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital has been accused of negligence when it comes to dealing with COVID-19 patients. Last month there was an incident at the hospital where around 25 coronavirus patients had to spend six hours on the streets after they were denied admission to the hospital. The authorities had sprung into action only after one of the patients recorded a video and shared it on social media. This comes at a time when the number of COVID-19 cases in Gujarat has touched 11,380 out of which 8,420 were reported from Ahmedabad. https://www.indiatimes.com/news/india/covid-19-positive-man-sent-to-home-quarantine-by-hospital-found-dead-in-bus-stand-513484.html

This is the result of modern technology. Such would have helped alot of abducted children in this country if we were to be well equipped with this type of modern technology.. |
Is there a particular spirit that has possessed all SARS officers in this country. They are all just behaving like mad men that are high on drugs. |
Why is Hide selfish? I can smell jealousy in that decision cos she's earning higher than him. Only a stupid man at this period of time will advice his wife to be to quit a job of 42M per annual to join him in PH wen he's pay is about half of hers. No financial sense in that. Best decision is for him to ask for a transfer since he's a banker and marriage can be used as an excuse to secure tht transfer to Lagos. |
We should be able to explore this and see it's potent. |

Patapaa would have walked down the aisle by now or close to doing so if not for the COVID-19 outbreak. The “One Corner” hitmaker started dating Liha Miller after his infamous Europe tour, early 2019, which reports claimed that he performed to 16 people at one of his major concerts. The Lovers later met in Ghana and haven’t been keeping their love life away from social media. The lovers keep visiting each other in their countries and at a time, Miller paid a visit to Patapaa’s family in Agona Swedru and the musician also marked his recent birthday in Germany with the family of his lover. According to him, the plan is to marry her this year but COVID-19 has ruined that. Patapaa was speaking to Ghanaian blogger, Sammy Kay, about Liha reportedly gifting him a car for his birthday, when he disclosed the information. Talking about marrying his lover whom he says is a nurse, the ‘Sco patu mana’ rapper said “I would have married her by now if not for the coronavirus”.
