Hi guys. My 2 cents for newbies and people who want to embark on this Canada journey. Please make sure your DLI offers PGWP after graduation. It's so pathetic seeing some folks who just arrived in my province a few days ago, and almost all their DLI(s) don't offer PGWP. See, Changing DLI in Canada is not as simple as many make it out to be because you will have so much to do immediately after you arrive here than start thinking about changing DLI. That school you have been eyeing for months before you commit to them, make sure you check again. Check very well before paying tuition fees, depositing, or submitting your visa application. Click the link below and check. If your school says YES, you are good to go. If it says YES & more details, try and read the details very well because some courses are not eligible for PGWP in some school. Ire oooooh

Pls if ur visa is already approved but medical expired before you left and u already done a new one,do u have to wait till its passed before you can travel or the fact u have done a new one is sufficient

I ask coz the letter on introduction states when the medical expires so i thought one would need an updated LOI before travelling.please note its an SOWP visa and was issued last month

Once your visa has been approved, your application is already close . Do the new medical, send it as webform & email the slip to IRCC, hold the medical slip when you are traveling. You don’t need to wait for update as there’s nothing like updated LOI again.

Yes, you have to send the new LOA to IRCC before leaving Nigeria.

I dont think they will send you back. It is wise to come in early. What matters is you have the right to enter Canada.

You right! But ready to answer if CBSA asks why you come in too early before your start date. Also, it's not a wise decision to come in early. We understand the anxiousness of wanting to travel as soon as you get your stamped passport. Well, If you have enough stack $ oo, you can come in early and start spending lol (nobody go tell you, nah your naira-naira exchange go tell you that one). But for people with “in yoruba voice ‘Owo oniru, Owo Oniyo’ means, you whey be say you gada $ all you had both home and away together for this Canada journey, REMEMBER you will start spending $ not naira again ooo, and you can't start working until your school resumes. So one month before resumption is still ideal, and you can settle in within that time frame.

I'm not discouraging anyone who want to come in early, Pls just make sure you have a valid cause and put a few extra factors in place. Shalom

My spouse and daughter will be flying with Lufthansa, even though I have been trying to contact the airline to confirm this, but I haven't gotten a response from them. I paid for two travelers, and it showed a seat for an additional fee which I thought should be optional. Since I paid for two travelers, do I have to pay for a bassinet seat for a baby? Not to fear. All other races full here, we need more blacks(9jas) too. Make we populate all province. If is a year program, you are good to go with that amount. Just make sure the funds are readily available to you, not just only show IRCC I get 15M for POF.

Also, have it at the back of your mind that a year program will only give you one year Post graduate work permit. While two years program will you give you three years work permit. And which I know you may likely want to apply for another one year program again so don't be caught off guard. That's why you have to map your plan very well so you can settling in softly.

Who tell you that one. most of them have other jobs they alternate it with, they do it in free time, off days or by any chances. I have few folks, even our 9ja’s doing ubereats too. They most highest $ they make are during rush hrs, & holidays and slightly weekends coz most people eat out during the weekends. I'm not arguing with you, I just dey add to what you said about borrowed funds. Everybody go survive Canada. Canada too sweet, once you map out your plan very well! Make sure your POF is readily available to you for spending. Pls don't follow mouth, that once you arrive you will start making money that will all your tuition. Draw your plans, and ready to integrate, and everywhere go soft. It's just a process. Shalom again.

You are so funny! Like electric bike are cheap, They cost almost $1800-$2000 or how many Nigerian can ride electric bike inside this canada weather. One can only do ubereat if you have a job to alternate with, you can't survive only with ubereats in Canada. This Japa journey I won't even advice any of my family member or even enemies to come with borrowed funds. My own cent is, if you are doing 2years program, have at least one-year tuition, or even full tuition, and your one-year living expenses in handy, and make sure those funds are readily available to you. No con come here and start be doing Mumu video lol. Students are working unlimited hrs now that if you submited your study permit application before IRCC announce the unlimited hrs. If you recently submits your application nah just 20hrs you fit do. Make friends with other races, and don't forsake the black community, coz most part-time jobs are based on referral. Holla me when you land, my company will be recruiting this summer (only for guys), if you sabi drive and have an original 9ja license that's a plus for you with additional $, all you just to need to take is one driving practice test, and learn those road sign. I am concerned that if we get the visa and show up pregnant, we might be turned down at POE or affect chances in future applications.

The bolded phrases are okay if you add it to the invitation letter, but how many weeks is your wife pregnancy? Because with the processing time of visitors visa and approval rate for visit is quite low for now, but we can't tell, you might be lucky she get her visa approved before her due date.

Guys! I tracked my daughter's passport now, and it says it has been couriered from VAC Abuja on its way back, while my spouse says it's still under process at IRCC Office. Is anyone in this kind of situation, or what could be the issue? Both passports were submitted as one timeline and file, and I also paid for UPS 2-way courier. Wonder why they couriered my daughter's passport and left the other passport behind.

A friend of mine said VFS are no longer accepting passports physically. Only accepting mailed passports( through DHL or others)…Please how true is this

I think so! Since you are in Abuja just go to any DHL near you or UPS. Request for 2-way courier. I bet it will be same-day delivery.

Please, those that submit family passports for stamping, my spouse's and my daughter's passport was sent together in one envelope for stamping to Abuja. I got 2 tracking numbers from VfS and steadily getting the passport movement notification from both Vfs & IRCC. Today, I notice my daughter passport as been stamped because of the counterfoil update, and has been sent back to VAC, while my spouse's passport is still with IRCC. I thought they always stamp everything at once and put in one file before sending it back to VAC. Please anyone that has experienced this? Thanks.

But I'm surprised why people say DHL doesn't do 2-way. Well, maybe to vfs Lagos, I don't know. My wife and daughter sent their passport to Abuja, from Ibadan through DHL (2-way) on March 2nd and we received it yesterday 13th.

Use UPS for 2 way courier, they are the only one allowed by VFS.


But if you want to use DHL, it’s only one way but you can pay for VFS delivery which 18710 per passport.

I will advice you look for UPS and pay for 2 way courier, it’s cheaper that way

Your case may be different. And I'll say it boldly that you're LUCKY not to be denied boarding or turned back at the port of entry.
In the LOI given after passport submission, IRCC stated that your medical must be valid when you enter Canada.
Your case might be an oversight but that doesn't mean it'll be for everyone.

kennyjoy... They can send their passport for stamping, but make sure they have medical done before travelling, and send through webform and mail... Also they should have a copy when they are travelling as well, in case IRCC didn't update it on time.

Not sure it will fly, and also waste of time, and resources. In all honesty, I don't know why will someone want to apply to a school that doesn't offer PGWP. There's so many UNI’s and Colleges in Canada.
