Hi Patchesagain, I am interested in the dawn period of the European Renaissance and the factors that birthed it.

For the purpose of preventing a derailing on this thread kindly use the Technical Discussion thread of Nemesis2u to explain the correlation between the black death/bubonic plague and the Renaissance. Mention me when you do. I am excitingly waiting for your thoughts (hopefully Nemesis2u will oblige on his thread).
Thank you.

Even the Americans have purchased arms from the chinese at one point in time. No man is an Island...Yes Eeben and co. helped us learn a few things...whats the big deal? Everyone in one point in life gets help from someone....Even South Africa!!! So pls stop this. I hate it when we try to rubbish what people have died and bled for...it doesnt make us better men/women.

Patchesagain:
So what are those men doing in the pictures i posted? You telling me Nigeria hired 500 mechanics?

-----

No need to be childish.

You couldent win your war, so you hired South Africans and Russians and asked Chad and Cameroon to do it for you.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by kenpaul0: 11:17am On Jan 31, 2017
This is a dis-service to the men who helped our military get their acts together. The likes of Eeben Barlow and co. paid in sweat and blood and i would call you out for trivializing what they did here with this your post

Henry240:
Buhahahahahahaha, look at this fool, we turned your Special Forces into mechanics in Nigeria. That is what we do in Nigeria.

We turned the Koevoet operator into a mechanic.

I'm sure the Recce operators were used in toilet cleaning duties. Keeping the Nigerian military toilets clean and neat.

"Leon Lotz, a former South African Defence Force Koevoet operator.

Lotz is reportedly from KwaZulu-Natal, and was engaged in the support
and care of vehicles used by the Nigerian military in their current
onslaught against insurgency."

All Nigerians in here supporting this nonsense should just stop it!!!!!! The Nigerian Military does not have the military might to take on all these countries...Hell, we may not even win a war against our neighbors chad!!!! We need to humble ourselves and slowly rebuild our capacity and not run around bragging!!!

iblawi:
Hey, Miss informed guy, we are not only US to West Africa but to Africa too. If you like you can cry.

You can ask US how long they've battled with talibans, alqeada, ISIS, terrorism in US and other. Many countries are by far more peaceful than US in terms of crime and terrorism despite the amount they spend on security.

South Africa couldn't secure their country from poachers and you blame another for not defending themselves from terrorist despite having terrorist in Mali, Libya, Algeria, Egypt and clashes in countries like C.A.R, Congo, Sudan, South Sudan, etc which is enough market to resupply weapons and fighters to them.

Oga Henry What are the 2 New OPV's called..P92 and P93?
Henry120:
Nigerian Navy

Nigerian navy OPV is an enlarged derivative of the chinese Type 056 corvette. F-91 class OPV's are similar to Royal Thai navy pattani class OPV's, both have helicopter hangars, but the Centenary class OPV's are larger.

Similarly, according to Chinese news sources, the Navy also placed orders for at-least 2 helicopters for these OPV's.

Talking helicopters, contrary to widely held belief, the navy has at-least 10 helicopters, yes paltry, but 4 helicopters more than initially thought.

Also, Augusta LUH parts are fabricated in Nigeria, good news for our small aerospace industry.

cool318: Young man, i still dont get your grudges here. Your posts defines your age. I can guess your age when i opted to enrol in 56th regular Recruitment in early 2000 which was still marred by Nigerian Factor.
What is MOTIVATION??
Who told you that Soldiers are not ready to engage Boko Haram??
I guess you are just jumping into the thread to get noticed. Go tro page 1-49

You are comparing ISIL with NA. Do you know that the Promise of 72 virgins, Fighting for Allah, KILL & you will be in Paradise are what motivates both ISIL & Boko Haram??

What Motivates our Gallant Soldiers i ask you??.
Is it the Poor War gadgets in their Possesion??, Is it their Allowance that is SHORTCHANGED??, Or is it the knowledge that Some corrupt senior Officer is Siphoning Pension & entitlements due to SOLDIERS in Battle.
Know the meaning of Motivation before you start spewing Thrash Kid!!!
All i see in your post is excuses!!! Do the Nigerian Soldiers need any better motivation than fighting for their homeland?

bidexiii: his not senseless don't you see it coming some soldiers as refused to move to frontlines unless if they are better equiped if something is not done one day a whole divisions will just plot a mutiny. A lot of mutiny as being happening. And those fat ass generals are doing nothing and brave men r dying every day!
What is all this talk about equipmenthuh It is not the size of the DOg but the size of the fight in the dog!!! Let the NA (especially those wannabe Soldiers) suck it up. Theirs is a call to duty not a call to relax. With motivation(and not just equipment) one can do anything. Case in study ISIS, they do not have what the Armed Forces in Iraq have...but they succeeded in routing the Iraqi army and their US weapons in every engagement time after time. The truth is that some Soldiers are not ready to FIGHT, they'd rather run like women abd beat up innocent civilians than fight. It is time for the REAL soldiers in the NA to STAND UP AND BE COUNTED!!!

cool318: Its only when there is mass desertation in the Army, that is only when the eyes of those CANNIBALS called Army Generals will clear, who derive pleasure in Feasting on the Flesh & Blood of our Soldiers.
I Wish there will be a Black day in the NA.
You are one senseless human Animal!!!!

Osama10: Nigeria is doomed, nothing works here.

Only if we can tackle corruption.
Sharrap....what do u mean by Nigeria is doomed? Na u doom am? Please speak like someone who reasons. Show us how Nigeria is doomed. BH is giving us a run for our money in the NE..true...but that does not mean we are doomed. Let us control our emotions and think rationally. In war one can loose a battle but end up winning the war. War is a series of different battles.

beegeagle says:

Sirius Black has provided the world with the most audacious and descriptive pictorial rendition of the Nigerian military in combat. Not even a command performance would come close to that.

Beginning from the Nigerian Civil War through to the Somali, Liberian and Sierra Leonean Civil Wars and on to the Bakassi Conflict and the Niger Delta Insurgency, NOBODY anywhere on earth has amassed such a descriptive stash of battlefield imagery on the Nigerian Armed Forces.

At a time when international media morons continue to churn out disparaging narratives, the pictorial rendition did a monumental measure of good for the citizens’ perception of the much-maligned Nigerian Army and Air Force. It laundered their image and rolled by ignorance. It shed the bright light on the FG’s efforts at repositioning the military for enhanced performance.

What else is there to be said for new acquisitions such as BigFoot MRAPs, Streit Spartan wheeled APCs, 75mm RCLs, Dragunov sniper rifles and MGLs etc. This at a time when military PR have largely failed to sell the story to any marked degree of conviction.

Sirius Black tried and succeeded in galvanising objective Nigerians to stand behind their government and its forces at a time of war. The authenticity of his photos were never in doubt. Against the grain of global perceptions of a dispirited military, he proved that morale was high at the frontlines and that the boys were relishing the chance to become battle-savvy, even at great cost to life and limb.

At a time when aspersions have been liberally cast on the leadership qualities of our high command, Sirius Black edified his commanders and sold the idea of their possibly overlooked capacity for resourcefulness. We saw ageing but operable and effective systems such as Panhard AML 60s and T55 tanks deployed for combat. Only yesterday, we saw an unlikely tracked Alvis Spartan APC at the front. It proved that the NA is not a deathbed for hardware acquired at great cost to the nation. Need I go on?

The problem with Nigeria is that all too often, we throw away the baby with the bath water.

When I set up this platform in March 2010, it was with the conviction that we had a badly misrepresented military and with the trove of relevant knowledge and understanding at one’s disposal, I was sure that we could grab the attention of stakeholders and interested parties, GLOBALLY. I was not hoping to elicit comments from anyone. Rather, I came to tell a Nigerian story with panache and gusto. By God’s Grace, we broke through every barrier at home and abroad.

Before setting out on this potentially perilous and self-assigned mission, we had contacted the DDI who was at the helm in 2009, asking to be given support to do what we do here. That would not have exceeded guided tours, invitations to field exercises and communiques. I reminded the Colonel at the helm at that time, that during the NCW, Mark Press handled the propaganda and serious communication for the secessionist side and that they outwitted the federalists’ military PR. I did not so much as get a reply and did not know what to think. Till date, only the NN have helped in any way to make this worthwhile when they allowed me in to see the SBS commandos. We soldiered on regardless.

All else that I have got is faceless people running rings around me and expecting so much yet remaining unwavering in doing absolutely NOTHING to make our efforts come out better. That cannot now continue beyond this point.

Sirius Black, you are a man of courage and great conviction…a doer and not a mere talker. Post a usable email address on your page since I look forward to someone giving you precise guidance on what is permissible and that which is untenable. We expect that this is the dignified middle ground which your Ogas need to consider BECAUSE, on the balance, the world of good which you have done to the Nigerian Armed Forces far outweighs ANY security risks entailed in your work.

The real vermin are those of your comrades-at-arms who send evil communication to scandal sheets such as SR, PT and AJ. They belong to the legion of the damned whereas you a force for good and a child of the Light.

If you feel the need to sound out my opinion on where I think you should be more circumspect, reach me at

beegeaglesblog@ovi.com

IF your offering, even as a military man leaves a sour taste in the mouth for all its positive worth, I guess that I, being a civilian, am also a real or potential offender. Presumably, Beegeagle’s Bloggers know what I mean by that. Not my will but theirs. Men, sometimes, are the architects of their own fate. Let’s enjoy the fun while it lasts.

Give thanks, Sirius Black, for you have done your duty to God and country with heart and might.

SiriusBlack: Well, for the reason that I dislike keyboard conflicts, I decided not to say anything about it..but I agree with you..posting graphic photos of bloated corpses was totally wrong on the part of sultan..many peeps do not know that unlike in movies, dead bodies are very messy...physiological responses take place when people are shot, they mess themselves or have death erections..sometimes, fingers have to be hacked off, because the fingers, locked on the trigger in death, will never be easily pulled off...I hope I'm not being too graphic, but there is nothing nice about corpses....in the thread that got wiped off, I posted photos of captured insurgents and later gave in to voice of reason and deleted it..I, also have TONS of photos of dead insurgents, villagers and soldiers..but I will never post them here...We all know that BH sympathisers like Amnesty International and one Sheikh Gumi are on the prowl to discredit the army...I was tempted to post the picture of one idiot who was notorious in baga area for killing soldiers and doing horrible things to the bodies...he was tracked down by SF snipers and his face blown open by a long range sniper rifle miles away....the pic was too graphic so I did not post it...so many times, NLderd keep saying that the Army is lying when we record successes on the front ...I get so angry at times I just feel like posting bodies of bullet-riddled insurgents..including the bodies of top BH commanders, .but rage is never an excuse of wrong decisions...so thanks for pointing that out..Pls guys, do not post photos of dead bodies here
Sirius, can u email me the pictures?
