There where even more high casualties in W.I.A than K.I.A in deferent theatres. One can only blame poor military public relations for not doing there jobs.

Oh boy expand your horizons

Incase you did not know ants are the inspiration behind lot of high end technologies.

I don't even know where to start

Be it highly complex probabilistic algorithms

Be it advance search algorithms

Be it complex metaheuristic algorithms

Be it high end network routing and topologies

Be it optimised transportation routing

Be it optimization of high end chips / ICs etc

Be it optimization of image processing in AI based surveillance and military sensors

Be it algorithms for data mining

Be it algorithms for predictive behaviour analysis

Be it to develop neural networks exceeding human ones

Be it Advance AI

Etc

And i have barely scraped the surface

Image the irony of humans when researchers found while studying a certain species of ants , that their complex foraging pattern and behaviour is exact replica , actually many time better than the TCP protocol used to regulate data flow in our internet !!!

Ants having been emulating complex algorithms in their behaviour which we puny humans have only recently started to us.

To make things simple enough for you....
One classical diffence is ants are collectively very intelligent which we humans are not , because human are antagonistic , humans collectively have never functioned as a single unit. Human evolution always has been divergent.

Incase you still don't understand , i can recommend some books on advance algorithms specifically utilising ant colony optimization alogrithms.

Why would NATO or America attack Nigeria?

Can they handle the consequences that follows after an unsuccessful attack on Nigerian soil?

The nearest USA military base is at Djibouti
(Camp Lemonier)

Assuming they're attacking by sea, logistics is a huge problem my dear friend.

The Usa doesn't have the vessels (under camp lemonire) to persecute a war with Nigeria by sea. Except hundreds of frigates leave the (HQ Norfolk, Virginia) – Homeland Defense and North Atlantic Ocean. Which I don't think they'd likely do.

Before the relation worsen to a state of war Nigeria may have seen need to armed her self to the teeth.

Where else should the university be located ? In ogoni land or efik land?
Do u intend to an industry build far from the raw materials?. I don't think there's any better place the university would be than where it is right now.

We're not talking bout oil wells bruh. This is a military thread we shouldn't politicized it.

Aside from the north east where the war is going on,the rest of the sub regions are peace my friend. I stayed in jos for 15years straight,I could tell how peaceful is it compare to some southern states.

The Nigerian military didn't struggle against mends, rather some factors were preventing the military crack down on the militant group(s) (senates, chiefs, kings, governors, etc).

With due respect. permit me to say you're,You're misinformed.

Tell me haven't we seen the worst. If under a former military leader and a general, the Nigerian military can be this disoriented and weak, what do you expect from a civilian. Lets watch this and know who the real criminals are in South Africa......https://www.facebook.com/1141545352/posts/10219749135135813/?sfnsn=mo&s=713261024&w=n

EVarn:
Okay, I know this isn't the thread for this issue, but since it was brought up, I can't resist chipping in my own opinion and leaving it at that.

The current spate of attacks against foreign Africans in RSA is as a result of decades of heinously criminal activities such as drug peddling, human trafficking, fraud and so on, perpetrated by Nigerians and other Africans in RSA. Due to negligence and poor policing on the part of the South Africans, the people decide occasionally to take matters into their own hands and deal with those they perceive as criminals. These attacks are not specifically targeted at Nigerians as we like to think, it affects many African people including Zimbabweans, Ghanaians, Ethiopians etc, and I don't like to use the term "xenophobia" to describe what is going on there.

We see a lot of these people dealing in drugs and criminality, the same way they do here in Nigeria and all over the world, bringing in their relatives one by one to join in the hellish enterprise. When it is chrismas period, they go to their villages to flaunt the ill gotten wealth and acquire chieftaincy titles.

While I condemn the destruction of lives and properties by South Africans, I also recognize that these events are as a result of genuine grievances that occasionally dissolve into mob action. We must therefore, call on both the governments of Nigeria and South Africa to form a bi-national cooperation on eradication of these violent activities and their causes. RSA must also strengthen it's laws and policing system to enable the criminals who are causing these issues to be fished out and prosecuted.

This issue is reminiscent of the fulani herdsmen crisis. The same Nigerians who are calling for the annihilation of all fulani people due to the actions of a few marauders among them, will be at the forefront of emotional outbursts and caustic vibrations against the actions of these South African mobs. Now, Nigerians(and other Africans) are being treated in South Africa the exact same way many Nigerians want fulani herdsmen to be treated in Nigeria. Should we say Nigerians are xenophobic?.

It's all about cause and effect. Nobody is mad. Everyone is reacting against a perceived slight. Nigerians feel the Fulanis are destroying the country and we want them all gone, South Africans feel African migrants are detroying their country and they want them all gone.

In short, we should all calm down. Look at the fact and call on the governments to address these issues affecting our countries. Nigerians should not give in to reckless actions such as looting of South African owned businesses and such, we should instead focus on building a better country for ourselves.

How about jamming the frequencies those shit use? Won't cost much

ugo4u:
Shooting them with rifles remains the most effective and cheapest way to bring them down.
Note BH drones are not sophisticated (military class), at best they're the type used by TV stations and school kids which could be gotten over the shelf. It doesn't make sense to use bombs or sophisticated missiles to neutralise them because
1) the drones usually fly at very low altitudes making it very difficult or almost impossible to be picked up by radar.
2) Air strikes or similar force will lead to collateral damages.
4) Again the cost of running sorties and logistics alike is unsustainable.
Possibly snipers placed strategically within the four walls of the base will do the job without sweat.

Someone posted this : I had a discussion with an Army officer posted to the North East

The young officer is tasked with protecting this nation from Boko Haram, he and his men could pay the ultimate price, this is why what he told me was important.

Somethings said I knew, others I did not, let me itemize what he told me

1. The Nigerian Army has no overall strategy to defeat Boko Haram He said there is no clear plan, just reactions.

2. The Chief of Army staff deployed lots of hardware to protect his village Brutai, this deployment is similar to Maiduguri. The strategy seems to be to counter and hold Boko Haram

3. The Chadian Army are better managers of equipment. He said the Chadian military has far older weapons but that they ensure everything is working. The task force they sent over is 100% mobile, but the Nigerian Army struggles to maintain Hilux Pickups talkless of modern tanks.

He said the Chadians were suprised at the poor state of our army, that they doubted our ability to defeat Boko Haram, the said Chadians dont run from battle when Boko Haram attacks but that the Nigerians do.

4. The bulk of Boko Haram Haram weapons are captured from the Nigerian Army. He said the NA will declare trucks or Artillery as unservicable but Boko Haram will capture same assets and get then to work.

5. There are sufficient arms delivered to the NA. He said before he got to his post he read about "lack of arms" but found out that was not true....the army had lots of arms but did not know how to maintain or deploy them

6. There is zero air cover. I asked him about the attack helicopters, he said they were grounded. He said Nigerian Army preferred the Niger Airforce (not Nigerian) and Chadian Airforce to conduct close strike Air to Surface operations because the have better and dedicated ground attack planes like the Sukhoi flown by Eastern Europeans.

7. He said the recruits coming out of training to join the Nigerian Army are sub par training and standards have really fallen.

8. Many Forward Operations Bases have been overan by Boko Haram. The Nigerian Army has been forced to destroy their own equipment as they flee, including our modern T72 tanks

9. He says money or even equipment is not the problem, he says there is no leadership of purpose and that many military men are "breaking protocol" just to survive

I think we get the picture. I am just posting this with the hope that something good will come out of this.

Boko Haram has exposed Nigeria.

Please pray for all our soldiers fighting Boko

You dey mind am...even the video of the captured Navy personnel he posted looks like something from BH...trying to boost morale that they captured American forces....Question is were this men coming to attack Iran or their boat had issues and they mistakenly sailed into Iranian waters....And were detained because of Iran's territorial integrity which the Sailors respected...So they are not POW!!

ugo4u:
and you think America needs to put boots on ground to take them out. Destroyers will start launching TLAMs at Iranian radar, coastal stations, missile and rocket assets, air fields, oil reserves, government infrastructure and mobile assets.
US military doctrine relies on naval and air power(remember the Ghadafi approach) even China will not want to have a military standoff with US. I think it's only Russia that will stand toe to toe with America. That country is not called the most powerful for nothing, they're insanely powerful. Saudi will happily fund the war in whatever capacity they can but surely they will open all their base for America to operate from. Is it not Iran that Saddam Hussein dealt with?
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by kenpaul0: 9:00am On May 15, 2019
I cant play this video directly from my browser

SLBMS:
Mr Supreme Court, stop saying crap please. The effect of endemic corruption and inefficiency against an undefined, unseen and unconventional enemy will be less pronounced in a conventional battle space. The Nigerian army, like the Russian army, like the U.S Army is built and trained to fight clearly defined foe, a conventional enemy. Counter intelligence doctrine was created less than a decade ago. The fate that the Soviets in A-STAN Or the Americans in Vietcong or Kenyans or any other group battling insurgency will be non-existent against an outright invading army.

The Nigerian army may have a history of corruption but there is nothing brave and special about terrorists attacking soft targets of opportunity, old defenceless men and women, market women, public gatherings etc. There is nothing regall in hit and run attacks or waiting for weak spots to attack and flee just to create spectacular carnage and make headlines.

Less than %30 of Nigeria's military might is employed against Boko Haram because the vast arsenal of Nigeria's artillery forces and amoured forces are useless against Boko Haram in urban areas and certainly in the vast featureless plains of the North East. Nigeria signed th convention banning the use of cluster munitions...but Boko Haram stormed a weakly defended NAF armoury, kidnapped women and made away with beluga cluster munitions. These munitions were strapped on teenage girls and used against civilian targets. Anyone who thinks terrorists groups are brave rather than cowardly bastards needs to have his head examined.

This is what Hank Cohen had to say about the Nigerian army. He said it. Not me.

Invading(air strikes) Nigeria through the south, precisely rivers calabar delta is near impossible, except such invaders have an aircraft carrial where they can refuel, cut distances etc... The Nigerian society has done their job by electing a Leader to "LEAD" the country....Therefore every responsibility lies on his head...To castigate the Nigerian populace for crying out from their suffering is very irresponsible. They do not need to know how things work...That is the work of the President and his team...So if there are issue that is where blame should be apportioned to.

doziex:
I don't know why the entirety of Nigerian society is so clueless about defense and security matters.
With the killings in zamfara state, kaduna and all across the country, all you hear in the media is, "mr president do something " or fire the service chiefs.
There is a complete inability even with the so called security expert pundits to discern, why the armed forces are so ineffective.
PMB could send troops to zamfara till he is blue in the face, it will do nothing. This is because our military lacks the capability and the capacity to wage this sort or any other sort of war.

As ecomog1990 and others have pointed out on this forum, the Mod and military brass receive an allocation of our defense expenditure, but no new or functional equipment comes out from it to empower our forces to defeat both the enemies and the terrain.

What has become of the 1 billion usd fund allocated for emergency defense spending?
Did it become some body's campaign war chest ? the exact crime former NSA is being held for.

Troops need helicopters to maneuver about the battle space. That is, cut these bandits off from escaping.

As the 3 Fs in counterinsurgency doctrine dictates. Find(through reconnaissance), Fix ( by maneuvering to cut off escape routes) and then Finish (with extreme prejudice)

Our troops also require a massive infusion of A vehicles. APCS, IFVs, Mraps and the like.

Our defense budget as is can afford these purchases. But it is simply not happening.

So, Nigerians should demand, what is happening to our military budget? What has become of allocated funds ?

Hilux trucks or innoson trucks aka B vehicles ain't gonna cut it.

Also Oga presido, while you are in Jordan , can you inquire about the weapons the king offered to donate to Nigeria.
You know, if we choose to go the begging route, we must act like we need it.
