Hi, have you been able to sort it out? I am in the same situation as well. My visa expires Nov 1st and travelling with Lufthansa on Nov 9th

Just buy a new ticket. There’s no need going to the airport on that day. Don’t waste your airport fair. Just Check for a direct flight. United airlines will be much more affordable for you.

To avoid stress it’ll be good to take the option of changing your ticket and travel before your visa expires if possible or get a transit visa. They take that transit visa thing seriously, if you have a valid Canadian visa it’ll also suffice.

I have an 8yrs Canada visa. They bounced me and my 3 kids. And she can’t apply for transit visa from here. I was forced to buy a direct flight with united airlines forcing us to spend extra 4k$ at this critical time. It’s well.

Please has any one encountered this. I travel just before my US visa expired. I was stamped in for 6months which expires December. I was to head back with my baby on Saturday but was told by Lufthansa airline which I came with that I can’t go back through Frankfurt as my US visa is expired. Am in serious pain and distress. Exhausted all my funds. And I came here with my two older kids. As anyone being in this shoe. I was told by the airline to get a transit visa and I will be rebooked. How do I get a German transit visa here in the US. Please. I need help. I have an infant and two toddlers with me. My funds are depleted already. Help.

It’ll be best to put a call through to confirm but I’m sure they’ll be reasonable enough to take the copies since they have the originals. That post office mailing option for passport takes a very long time which is why I waited till it was time for us to depart and I went straight to the agency.

Thanks my sister for always taking your time to respond to my questions. I was given the passport today. Today was my appointment. I waited about 3hrs to pick up. Thank you so much
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Kesspru: 11:00pm On Sep 16, 2023
Debbieeeeeee:

Flight ticket confirmation
Husbands consent( DS 3053)
Passport biodata you & husband
One passport photo for baby
Credit card bearing your name for payment
DS - 11 form
Copy of birth certificate and original (they’ll return this in the jacket alongside passport when it’s ready)

These were the docs I took to the agency.

You should get an email confirmation from the agency confirming your appointment and the end of the email should look like this screenshot below

Thank you for the response.

Issue now is I have already submitted for the passport application already. So my husbands consent has been submitted with the application. It’s just that application is delaying and I have been asked to come in to get it done. I only have the photocopies of the consent. Is that acceptable? As the original is gone with the first application I did already! I was told they will transfer my application to the passport agency appointment. I hope they do so because I will be going in with just photocopies of the consent and birth certificate as the originals are with the first application submitted already.

Please has anyone applied for passport already and got an appointment with the federal passport office to walk in and apply to collect the baby’s passport same day? What what did you take along for the appointment? Also the first application has my husbands consent already, do I go to the federal appointment with a photocopy of it? Please has anyone done this process before ?

I gave birth in Houston, I got social in the mail in about 7 days, birth cert took 10 minutes in the office although I went in person, passport took 24 hours at the agency. Didn’t expect it to be brisk especially the social.
You don’t need social to get birth cert, go to the health department you’ll get it instantly, although I got my baby’s social but I never used it for any of her applications I just told them I don’t have the baby’s ssn just yet.

Waooo thank you very much

Hello everyone,
I had my baby in November 2021 in Atlanta but my POE was Newyork and it was easy, I declared I was pregnant and the immigration officer asked how much I had and I declared.
As at the time of my interview I told them visa officer holiday because I wasn’t showing at all.
I got my visa in June 2021 and it will expiring June 2023 and I plan on using it again as I am due in July .
But I will be going in may which means I have 1 month left .
I will also be declaring and I hope they let me in for the duration I need to have my baby .
I also tried drop box earlier March 2023 and I was not qualified for drop box but I saw somewhere that was because I applied too early. I tracked my application and it went from application received to no status till I picked up and got a yellow paper saying I wasn’t qualified for interview waiver .
Do you think I should do another Dropbox before travelling or I should just use my old visa like that?
Anyone in this situation?
Thank you 🙏

I am also in this situation. My visa expires june and am due in August. I will be leaving Nigeria the middle of June. Usually it’s safer to go through jfk in that situation as that is what I plan on doing. I was advised by different agents to use the visa for the journey before I reapply. Iv read where people drop their passports for drop box and it is held for up to 3 month. You are good to go. Just go through a friendly POE. Also go with your child you had already in the US.

Hi everyone. Please has anyone birthed recently in Houston? Kindly assist with how long it took for baby’s passport to be issued. I want to book a flight so I am looking at having a timeline that covers the whole duration as changing flight dates may attract high fares with the rate airlines charges so high now. Please help a sister. Thank you so much

Good day house, please does any one know if it’s possible to get passport without the notarized document as there is no appointment date for lagos/Abuja office in October and only available date is november 30th and return flight is already scheduled for 11th.

Is there also a way one can apply you passport without SSN? No passport appointment available in November in Houston . Only date available is Oct 29th as at today

You can’t get passport without the your husbands notarized document. Impossible. Also I applied for passport as advices by the house here without social security for weeks later I was sent a letter demanding the social and swearing again that I didn’t have it truly. By then i had received the social. Sent it. Waited five more weeks. Nothing. I began to call them to cry. Had to book a walk in appointment which would have taken me 10hrs to get to their venue. God so kind I got the passport yesterday. Have all your documents ready before applying except you want to stay here the whole 6months.
Please assist

Good afternoon! Thank you so much for your advice especially @purpleribbon and @Demmy2021
Been trying to complete everything as my return is next week. I’ve gotten my baby’s passport. Called them and gave them my flight itinerary and booking reference. They gave me an appointment but also told me that they may hasten the process and so that I might get the passport before I go for the appointment and that was how it happened so I had to cancel the appointment as they asked me to.

Hello mama. Just wanted to know how soon the passport was sent to you as you booked the appointment to go into an agency to get it done. Iv been here now three month waiting for passport I went ahead and applied without the social security number as advised by the house but I got a letter one month later demanding for it. By then the number had come so I sent it to them. One month later I still haven’t heard from them so I decided to call to ask for an appointment as my trip is month 30th but got a date for the passport 29th. So am hoping they would expedite the application I made already instead of embarking on a 7hrs journey by road to get it done. Just wanted to how soon you were sent the passport after you got the appointment as I was also assured I could receive passport before then and I will then have to call to cancel appointment after receiving it.
@Demmy2021, did you eventually pay for the cvs test? Saw on their site that it’s $139 and also did you pay for the NCDC test? And still did you repeat the test when you got back to Nigeria?
If you did, how much did you pay? Been checking their site for the price and saw nothing

@Purpleribbon, I heard there’s a punishment for those who don’t repeat the test 7 days after return. Do you know?

Hi guys! Wanted to give my POE experience coz I’ve learnt a lot here and I believe mine would help someone. Sometime in March I told you guys about having a visa that’ll expire in May and that I was thinking of using it to give birth. I was encouraged most especially by @debbieeeeee
and @pointednose to go ahead.. and I actually did.

So here’s my experience:
I traveled with my Child which I gave birth to with the same visa 2 years ago. It wasn’t an easy journey.

Went with Qatar airways. (One of the best airline I must say, just that the journey was quite long)
My POE was JFK which I used the previous time. When I got there, I was directed to join the citizens line because of my child. While on the line, a lady saw me and asked me to come forward (obviously a helper from God plus she saw I was pregnant and carrying a child) mind you, I didn’t try to cover it my pregnancy. did same 2 years ago infact I was almost due when I traveled the last time.
So back to my story, I met the POE officer who asked for my passport, he collected my child’s own and asked what I’m here for, I told him to have my 2nd baby. He looked at the computer for a while without saying a word to me, then stamped my child’s passport. Then he collected mine and asked where I was going to stay and asked for how long. I told him the town I was staying and I’m looking at 3months Or more. He now asked if I came with any food stuffs and I told him just spices, he now asked to see my face and I removed my face mask. He then stamped my passport 6 months and said have a nice stay.

From this, I can tell you two things
1) prayer is the key. I and my husband prayed seriously for a smooth Poe. Even told my pastor

2) Be truthful. Just say the truth to them. I learnt it here that being honest pays so when I traveled to have my first child, I told them exactly the same thing, (then I was obviously pregnant so I couldn’t even dare lying) and it was an easy Poe and I used the same JFK.
After hearing people say that 2nd time is always tougher, I got scared and people advised me to cover up since my pregnancy isn’t that obvious but I still couldn’t see myself doing it. I just said what will be will be. I made sure I was with every single receipt from the first one and a letter from the hospital showing I didn’t collect any Medicaid from them. Still they didn’t ask of anything..

These people appreciate honesty and I think if we keep being honest, they’ll start seeing Nigerians in a good way.

Thanks @Debbieeeeee and @PointedNose for the encouragement.

Hello dear. Congrats. I read through and saw where you stated you were almost due when you traveled for the first birth. How far gone where you. So sorry am asking. I have been battling to secure my passport. My visa was granted but not issued because I haven’t got the new passport. Am well over 37 weeks now. Can I still make it out at this point. Am really distraught.
