Apologies for calling the TOWN HALL meeting.. need your advice. here is my story.

My wife has a Bsc but has never worked. graduated 5years ago. (5years study gap)
She's in her early 30s
We have a child.
We want her to be the primary applicant, so she'll go for Masters or any better program
Husband own a small business.

Is there a chance of getting admission? if Yes, what is our chances of getting visa, if we are able to pay the 1se semester fee and show enough funds in SOA, can husband be the sponsor or any one of us can?
huh huh huh huh huh
Hello,

As already advised by others. 5years gap isn't the issue so long as School didn't state in their requirements. All you need to look out for is if she merits the admission requirements.

Now since she is the primary applicant, you can be her sponsor. Now, many a times, due to the uncertainty in Canada study Visa pattern, applicants tends to let a spouse apply alone while they spouse apply later.

We have noticed a shift in trend of recent as IRCC now wants spouses of temporary residents to come with work permit to fill up the labour shortage.

That being said, you can choose to let her apply alone, once hers is approved, you apply to go with her based of support and family reunification.

This is just added advice outside of what you asked.

So in a nutshell, what you asked is very much obtainable. No problem whatsoever.

All the best

Gurus in the house pls I need your advice
In my first Application, my uncle was my sponsor and he deposited an amount that covers the living expenses and tuition fees into my account but it was deposited in cash not by bank transfer transfer due to the nature of his business(Trader). In the application I submitted affidavit of sponsorship, my SOA, the payment receipts given to him when he deposited the money into my account thrice but I didn't include the sponsor's SOA. I submitted the application a month after the money was deposited and I was able to explained the lump sum yet my application was denied. I just joined NL few weeks ago I was able to figure out that I submitted the wrong documents. Pls I want to know what documents should I include when I reapply? Can I use my SOA as POF if the money stays more than five month in my account before my next application? Do I need to include the month the lump sum was deposited in the SOA I will be using for the Pof?

Hello Ola,

I wouldn't categorically state what could be the reason for your refusal. I'm so sorry for your refusal. First thing first, please I advice don't rush to reapply. Kindly order for your note to have an overview of the VOs comment. That will guide you properly in tackling the points the VOs used in denying your application.

Now, if you still want to reapply without getting your note, you can still get approval.

First, as the money was paid into your account by cash deposit and not transfer, what was the narration on the teller and the depositor name? ( This is just a thought, can you get hold of same deposit slip?)

Now, for depositing money into your account, he is now your sponsor, so you will need some legal document to back up the funds he sent to you to prove that the money was sent to you for the sole purpose of your studies. So you will need a gift deed, sponsorship letter and sponsorship declaration letter( all notarized). Then you need to prove relationship with the sponsorship being a 3rd party sponsor. Also, sponsor needs to show he is capable of taking care of you while he cares for his own immediate family. So the sponsor needs to show his POF as well. It helps to show the VO that sponsor is well established to care for your studies while taking care of his or her own immediate family need without needing the money back.

Also, did you make any commitment to the school. One thing I advice when you use a sponsor or have lump sums sent to ones account is to show commitment by paying atleast tuition deposit from the money to show that the money is for studies. We can't have money sent to our accounts and we never made commitment, they VO might see it as fund for demonstration purposes only which will be returned after visa approval.

Another way also is if you can have the sponsor to pay tuition deposit from his or her account, this will also help to in a way convince the VO that your sponsor is really out to sponsor you.

Again. So sorry for your refusal

It will surely end in praises. Just never give up.

To OG's in the house, what is the process of using asset, Landed properties and Cars as home times?

Please I need direction on how to go about it.
Hello,

There is no special way of doing that except stating in your sop under hometie/assets of the assets you have. Then back it up with documentation (all the docs from the property).

But note that this should come under the financial backup plan and not what you will come back to cos VO believes that it can easily be disposed.

Good day guys, can I get into a Canada university with a 2.65 cgpa? The person I contacted here for that said he can’t do it unless I go for a post graduate diploma course. Please I need your help in this regard. Thank you
Hello,

The person's advice isn't out of place. For master's degree in Canada, the bench mark was and is still 2.1. but those days, if you had 2.2 with good experience, you might get admission because application influx wasn't much unlike now. Now with the rate of people applying to schools in Canada, even some 2.1 don't even get admission.

That being said, is not like it is impossible, but the chances are so rare. Someone I know applied to UNBC, got a supervisor and scholarship because even though he had 2.2 from first degree, he has really improved himself with research work and all that. But still the school denied him admission because he had 2.2. This just to let you know the difficult nature of 2.2 for master's program.

But If you have 2.2 in bachelor's and have a good standing GP in a PGD, then your chances of masters degree admission will be high.

Good evening everyone.
Please I need a honest information.
I have interest to migrate to Canada via student visa. I am HND holder in computer science, I am software developer, please I need the following information
1. Best school to apply with low budget
2. Application process with detail information
3. Requirements for admission
Etc.

Await for responses. Thanks in advance
Hello

1). There is nothing like a low budget School in Canada. Just go for the one you can afford. What might by low budget for you might be high for another person and vice versa. So you may need to be specific ok.

2). Go to school of you choice and check their process. Some school accepts application through their verified agent, while some you can apply on your own directly on the School website and some through a special portal from the province. So visit the school an know their application process

3). Go to school of you choice and check their requirements. All the schools don't have same requirements

please help can 17m run Canada student visa with self sponsoring
Hello?

It all depends on your program, duration, the province. All put together will determine.

Now for tuition: Tuition varies from school to school.

Duration: the duration of course also will determine.

Province: when I say province, I'm kinda talking about living expenses. Now rent is Toronto and Nova Scotia can't be same for 1bedroom apartment/basement. Even though ircc tags it 10k a year, it doesn't mean that realistically, all province have same living expenses. Another factor to living expenses is tax. Most small cities tends to have high tax than big cities. For eg, Saskatchewan tax is higher than Calgary by 6%. So when buying things in Saskatchewan, you pay more than than when buying same thing in Calgary.

So just do your maths and know if it will be enough.

All the best.

My sister and her husband are planning Canada via study route but her GRE results were poor and she is looking at university of Manitoba. Is it advisable they still apply despite the low scores or they should look for schools that don't require GRE?
Hello Lively,

GRE! you may need to be more specific with your question. I don't know if you have provided the info later on, but is the program an MBA or PhD or Master's or PGD? For PGD, masters, you don't even need IELTS so long as you're from an English speaking nation and English was your language of instructions.

For MBA, most school don't even ask for IELTS talk more of GRE. GRE/GMAT is mostly rampant for some PhD programs.

Again, I don't know if you have given the details below, but with your question, no one can give you a concrete and definite answer.

Please , I need your help.
I graduated 2017 (2.2) mechanical Engineering. Served in a Technician college as a Metal works teacher and after service my work experience has been in the STEM teaching line. I also had close to 2 years experience working in a mechanic workshop as an automobile repairs apprentice after school. Am currently teaching.
I want to apply for Post graduate diploma in a Canadian college in line with engineering related field and seeing the reviews here on career progression am worried about the visa application. Am looking at Applied manufacturing management, Supply Chain management or Renewable energy management.
1. Please I need help with choice of study path. You can suggest something that could link up
2. With a good SOP can this work?
Hello Fredyo,

Reading through your question, I want to ask why those choice of courses? What has supply chain management, renewable energy got to do with BEng mechanical and metal workshop experience? How do you intend to prove your purpose of study and why the course? You have an nice course with nice experience that will fetch you money being an auto body technician in Canada.

When applying for school in Canada, we need to have 2 things in mind. Is the course I am going for a career or a academic advancement. In your case, you're still not far from when you finished bachelor's, so you can apply for PGD in your first degree. Also since your experience is in line with your degree, Kindly go for mechanical/auto body related courses.

Some get their decision mail 2montths after submitting their medical that was requested by IRCC. You're lucky to have seen your approval via your note so don't worry and begin to plan your travel.

Good morning All. Pls what is the full meaning of BVL?
What does it signify in one's application?
Hello ChiPromise,

When you apply for visa, you get what is called BIL( Biometrics Instruction Letter), which instructs you to go for your biometrics.

Now at a later date when the VO have finalized on your application, you will get BVL (Biometrics Validation Letter). Once you get such letter, it means your application is reviewed and next thing is decision email. Some get their decision email same time while others have theirs take days, while others weeks.

Enrollment letter
School fees receipt
Proof of fund

My question is can I use my statement of account which I used for my application then in August as my proof of fund or I need updated one?

Did I ArriveCAN also ?
Hello,

You have already listed the vital docs needed. ArriveCan was necessary then, but not necessary now. But you can still fill it and keep if you so desire. But note that is is no more mandatory.

For POF, the date it was done should determine. If it has been long ago, then just get an updated one. Just a month summary is enough. But if your account has a lot of inflow and outflow that will make a month summary bulky, you can even do bi-weekly statement. What's important is to proof you have funds for your program.

Congrats.

For us all, please let's not use the timelines stated by IRCC as benchmarks. NOO. please when you're applying, zero your mind that it may even stay up to a year without a decision. Yes, I know I may sound odd, but it is for your own mental health sake. Is better to zero your mind that it won't come early and it comes early, than puting your mind to the timelines stated by IRCC only to get your mental health worked up.

Please be strong and keep pushing. Keep your mind off your profile and if possible just be checking it max twice a week.

Even though your application is still young, you can start sending IRCC mails. In your mails, highlight the reason you stated here about your School. Let the subject of your email be tagged URGENT. I wanted to ask, is the company active on CAC's website?
I'm not saying that's the reason for your refusal, but my brother was refused UK visa because of this CAC stuff. The company was showing inactive on the portal, while my brother was also a director at the company. All documents were submitted.

When I began processing, my own Canada study permit, we had to sort out the issue for fear that Canada could aslo look up the company on CAC's website. The annual return fee that the company hasn't be paying for years was paid and the status on CAC's website became active. Please, before you reapply, make sure you check this stuff.

And also, did you submit the company's receipt and invoice to show how your brother's company generates income?
Hello,

This is another good point. Sometimes we always think is all about docs. Now if the company doesn't have tax clearance certificate maybe as the company isn't remitting tax directly to the FIRS as the case maybe, how will ircc believe such company exist.

Now, as someone into busying and selling(I guess), how do you prove you pay tax? Some use there waybills and receipt to show they pay tax when the purchase their goods. This are the things you have to explain in your SOP. Also, to back up the explanation that you're paying tax when you purchase goods, you can get the manufacturer to issue you a letter of identification or recommendation that highlighted your existences and even make comment on tax payment in the letter. With this, you can establish the existence of the company.

So lets be creative in our application and not create holes of doubt in Vos mind.

I just still wonder why the refusal,I have ordered cbsa note already tho,I await
Hello,

Then the presentation of your application could have paved a way. I am just an ordinary person but I have already seen something. You have a big company of such magnitude but you're submitting his personal account fr proof of funds. So what then happens to the company account?

Please as I said, I'm not trying to antagonize your application. I'm trying to critique it strategically placed he way VOs do our application. That is just one fault I find here. I'm not saying submitting personal account and not business account is bad, but when we make some claims (sorry I don't know another word to use, don't be offended), we give visa officers room to doubt.

Another thing you need to note is that, you're not the first Nigeria applicant to submit docs. The more applicants submit bogus claims, the VOs gets most strict on subsequent applicants.

So just get your note and get to know the actual reason the VO rejected your application. No application is perfect. Is just about good presentation and God's grace.

Wish you all the best.

Exactly what they wrote in mine, after I submitted loads of documents
Hello,

Yes, I understand that sometimes, theses visa offers can be so overdoing, but please note it that it isn't just about submitting loads of documents. Sometimes, some documents we submit causes the reasons for our refusals.

When it comes to purpose of visit and proof of funds. Applicants should be mindful of submitting ambiguous docs that will warrant the visa officer to puncture a hole of doubt in their claims.

So for every docs one submits, he/she should provide an air tight explanation and not just bogus claims.

Somebody mentioned showing shares he/she has in his/her company.

Imagine saying you have shares in company called XXXXX and sons limited, not known in the Nigeria/world (that is not a known established) without a share certificate or providing a concocted statement that isn't from the CAC board of directors share allocations documents. Please I used your comment just for reference purposes and didn't mean to say anything wrong.

So let's all be mindful of bogus claims. Always make our application air tight and provide verifiable docs as backup.

All the best to all of us.

Hello Israelboy?

You can't run for a master degree in HRM in Canadian school with a biochemistry first degree even though you have 4 years experience in HRM. Bsc or a PGD in HRM will be required to augment the experience. So your best bet is a PGD.

My humble advice though

Good morning everyone…
I am a graduate of food science from Lautech ( 2:1). I graduated this year and I’m currently serving. I also have an OND from Yaba college of technology (upper credit). I’m planning to apply for my masters in food science and I have my preferred universities selected. The first step to submitting my application is to get a supervisor and I already planned on doing that earlier than this but due to the ongoing ASUU strike, I couldn’t get in touch with any supervisor because of my unofficial transcript. To cut the long story short, I have the following concerns:
1. Is it too late too late to cold mail supervisors against fall semester 2023?
2. Do I need unofficial transcripts for both degrees to cold mail supervisors ?
3. In the event that I’m not able to get the unofficial transcript from lautech, can I scan the one given to me during clearance? It was stamped by the department.
4.Do I tell them that I have an OND or should I ignore it?
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you very much
Hello Olapeju,

1). For fall 2023, I wouldn't say is too late to apply because you never can tell when the professor has a vacant position. Why do I say this. Now in my department, one of us recently declined his PhD scholarship because he wants to go for masters. Reason being that, since his/her sole aim is PR, why spend years doing PhD when he/she can just spend 2years max and work towards his/her PR. So as a result of that, there is now a vacant position under that professor. So anyone who now writes to that Prof, showing good match to the profs research interests and ability to undertake such Prof work, is likely to get it even when those who did before him/her didn't. Again, during my time, a prof told me that she won't be accepting anymore student until 2024, which shows when the current PhD programs will end. And that was in 2020 she said that. So in summary, start to fire your cold mail. Not just anyhow cold mail. Work on it, study and learn the prof areas of research interest and publications. Align is with your interest and let him see the need that you're a right student to be in his/her research team. But most importantly seek grace of God to it ok. You will be fine las las

2). For most masters and PhD I have seen, unofficial transcripts are used for application. Then when an admission is given, you're noe to send directly to the school your official transcript from your undergraduate institution. Also, unofficial is used when writing to your supervisor.

3). You have better idea of how the said document is and if it can stand. Essence of the unofficial (which must have school logo and stamp atleast) is so student don't go about submitting doctored unofficial transcripts. S, I don't know how the document is and can say.

4). Don't have answer to this. But since it isn't from the same school and as it's below your Bsc, I think you don't really need to include that. My opinion though. Others will guide you accordingly

All the best Olapeju.

Please when someone gets funding from a school and the funding is in the person's school account.

How can they declare it as additional funding after submitting SP application?
Hello Chuksinfotech,

Whenever someone secures a funding or scholarship, first admission letter will be sent, then followed by funding letter. That funding letter is what you will attach to your application as a proof that your have funding to take care of your studies ( depending if it is full or partial funding). But that's for my school though. So if you don't have such letter yet, inquire from your school about it to find out if they give sperate letter of funding. Also, if said funding is showing in your student account page, you may need to screenshot it as well and attach to your application

All the best.
