Hi guys

Please I need y’all’s opinion
My Dad’s bank statement has two lump sums of 5m each
One is a loan from his place of work (he’s a manager at Firstbank)
Second one is his savings from his cooperative
And he has a pension fund of over 20m
He has a good turnover of over 20m per year
So we got a bank statement of 12 months with 10m balance
I also have a scholarship of 6K (my tuition is 15,300 CAD)
So for the lump sums
We have a letter for both of them
And I’m planning on notarizing them

Am I good to apply like this
Hello,

So long as you have diligently and extensively explained the lump sums with proof of source, you're good to go.

All the best

Hi Ketima,

Pls can you help with a response ...

My course has a coop and I know I must work at the end of my program but pls is it compulsory one must work while schooling apart from the Coop..
Apart from the making money reason, Is there any other reason?
Especially in relation to getting PR which is everyone's end goal..
*Paying my fees and catering to myself isnt a problem*
Asking because I am going with kids and I am looking at the stress level..
Must one work while schooling?
Hello,

Kindly note that the 20hrs weekly part-time work isn't compulsory. As a matter of fact, if you're a big man/lady (mean financially), you don't need a job or money. Just focus on your studies and make your good grades.

The 20 hrs timeline is so that students won't face only work and money and assign less time to studies which is the primary reason for coming. So the answer is NO. Working is not mandatory unless a coop-linked program.

For other reasons as to why do students work? NON. As part-time work experience isn't considered work experience when applying for EE or CEC, money is the sole reason.

So if you can take care of yourself and your kid(s), then you're free not to work. No one will penalize you. But if it is a coop, please that one is compulsory as it is part of your program.

All the best

Good morning house.

Please I need advice. I am going to be funded 21,000 cad but my tuition+10k cad living expenses= 26,000 cad/year.

1. I don't have money and neither does my dad, I plan on having my uncle send him 3 million to complete the balance of the living expenses and he sends me a gift deed to explain the lump sum in my bank statement. But I don't show his own bank statement so they don't see he got a lumpsum himself. Would this be a problem or should I just have my uncle send to me and show his account statement and mine.

2. Since most of the money is from funding, would I still need to declare I'm being sponsored or say I'm self sponsored while my dad or uncle just gave that extra money to help.

Please any help would be greatly appreciated @ketima @frankrobbn @makano @technix and anyone else who has an input
Hello Vonvictor,

As for question 1, you have stated that the funding you got is CAD$26k. Now I saw 10K living expenses, please I want to know if the course is a year?

Again, when you add tution+living expenses for the entire duration of your course, does the 26K cover most of it that all you need is just 3million to make it up?

In your POF section of your SOP, boldly state that you have funding of so so amount and that the remaining will be taking care of by you from the money gifted to you by your dad. Please ensure you add all supporting documents to back up your POF.

Goodevening house, I applied on the 28th of November, my medicals was updated to pass on 22nd December and up till now, no response, eligibility has not even started.

Why this delay nah, I am just worried. Why the delay in starting my eligibility nah?

I have sent several emails and webforms, the last one I sent, the replied that my application is on que for processing.
Hello Chukwuemeka,

Note that the start of eligibility doesn't mean that your application will soon be concluded. Some have their eligibility start immediately or a few weeks after applying but will see their eligibility last for more than 3 months before a decision is made. While others will not see their eligibility start until after 3 months of submission only for their eligibility to start and a decision will be made the next day or even some mins after eligibility started.

So don't be bothered that others who you applied before them or with you have had their eligibilities start but yours isn't. Because it may look like your application is idle, but background eligibility may be going on.

So relax ok

How screwed up am I?

I am an Oct applicant. Few weeks ago I got a document request mail for my new passport data page as the passport I used will be expiring in August 2022. I had gone to renew my passport since Feb but yet no hope as everyone is saying there isn't any booklet.

I was given until 13th of April to send the data page or write back.
Apparently I am going to write back. But I am just worried, will this become a problem for me or should I keep the hope alive.
I am greatly disturbed.
Hello Kidsister,

Your application is on the verge of approval and as such, since your passport is expiring soon, they needed new one with extended date for recording purposes before they send PPR.

Now, with your passport expiring in August, what intake are you going for? If may, just know it that your passport won't be stamped beyond august. If fall term, your PP can still be stamped but you must travel before the counterfoil expires. Now when you get over there, you do renewal.

So you can write LOE to them that you have initiated the process of securing new passport but due to non availability of booklet, you haven't gotten new one yet. If possible, attach proof that you indeed initiated the process.

But I don't see any reason to worry. At most the validity of your counterfoil will be August 2022.

All the best

Good evening house, please can anyone recommend an airline that doesn't disturb study permit holders who want to travel to Canada early? I'll really appreciate.
You should be concerned with CBSA as regards to traveling early rather than airline. A chat I had with someone here, confirmed from the sister who called CBSA that fall 2022 students can start coming from June.

Note: I didn't personally verify this. Just nod I got from someone.

Good evening everyone, I would like to ask if there’s a possibility that the Canadian embassy will communicate with the Bank where I have my Proof of Funds to clarify if I have the exact amount of money printed on my statement in my bank account.
Yes. Hope you didn't submit fabricated total amount in your SOA or POF. IRCC do reach out to banks or ask for updated SOA.

Also note that sometimes IRCC may want to justify that they tried to see if it was an oversight mistake. They may reach out to your bank, get info the want, reach out to you and ask for updated SOA, if it contradicts the banks own again, then they will know that you're intentionally submitting a doctored SOA and PFL will follow suit. So be mindful of that ok.

Also when an SOA is not eligible, and due to numerous applications to attend to, they will just outrightly reject your application

Good evening y'all..
Please I want to ask a question. My Name is Aghogho, Please I'll like to know if it is possible for me to pay my tuition fee at University of Manitoba by working as a student in Manitoba Canada. Thanks guys.
Hello Bigdaddy001,

When I see students thinking that they can sustain their studies from A-Z by doing part-time job, I feel bad cos it will warrant them to overwork themselves and at the end may end up having to pay penalty for late payment or try to work beyond 20hrs.

I advice as always, if your course is 1 year, try and pay for atleast one semester and have money for 3 months rent ready( that's if you don't have where to stay for free) before heading to your destination. Cos it not always that easy to get a job immediately you got to your province. Also that student A went to Ontario and got a job within weeks of arriving means that student B that went to Nova Scotia will be that lucky. So let's plan well before heading over there.

Same applies to 2 year course. Try and pay a full year tuition(if you can) and have 3 months rent. Then you know you have all the time to get a job and plan the money for your subsequent rent and next year tuition. Like this, you may not be tempted to go beyond 20hrs/week specification.

Note this my own view as views varries. But then, is all individual's choice and decision

Pls @ frankrobbn 1, @ makano, @ketima and @Anon123 @Lekiboboe and other guru
Your response will go a long way.
Hello Survivex,

Kindly fill the latest employment history. Your current job is what that constitute your job ties to your country and not past jobs. But if you can get recomemdation letter from present and past employers to attach to your application, that will be good. Also attache all your employment related documents(offer letter, confirmation of appointment, promotion letter etc) to you application.

For the 2nd question. Which checklist again are you referring to? Once you complete your online questionnaire correctly, all the sections you need will be made available. So you don't need any checklist again. Checklist was when paper based was still on.

All the best.

Hello, please I have a question:
If the sponsor is a lecturer and his salary is about 200k per month. Money (950,000 to 1,400,000) is been paid to the sponsor account every week or 2 weeks. Does the sponsor or the applicant have to explain the sauce funds in the SOP ? What’s the best way to boost an account for proof of funds. Thank you.
Hello Benwems,

We all should understand that this word lumpsum depends on the nature of the account in question. If for instance the account before now and for a very long time has inflows that runs into thousands and millions being deposited into the account every week or two, then is not a lump sum and need no explanation. But when an account before hand has never had such inflow and all of a sudden, such inflows like that starts coming in, that's when you need to explain to the VO the source of funds and squash what he may perceived as account buildup for demonstration purposes.

So, before now, is the account used to receiving such sums per week or is just starting. If just starting, and as a lecturer, you have many reasons to use and tag such inflows as which can be from book sales, research proceeds etc.

Can someone book for Biometrics before submitting or immediately submitting application before IRCC sends notification?
Hello,

24 hours after payment/submitting your application, you will get Biometrics instruction letter BIL telling you to proceed to book for Biometrics.

But in applications I have done recently using both the GCKey and new portal, I noticed that BIL came just few hours after submission.

hello house, please i need suggestion to the following

1. someone said i should not use family as home ties if i have the intention of bringing them over later.

2. can i attach value to my properties but i did not attach valuation report
Hello Finnacle,

The family you're referring to, is it your own immediate family or parents/sibling's. Your immediate family is your strongest home tie in addition to other home ties such as job, assets etc. So do well to include them as your home tie even your extended family too especially parents.

Many have gotten approval without attaching a quantity surveyors evaluation report considering the cost of their services. You may do well to just swear an affidavit of fact to state that such property is yours and quote the price in the affidavit. But whereby you can afford their services, do well to get it. But note that having it or not does not dictate the direction your application will go.

All the best.

Hello good people on this forum . I’m a bit worried about my situation currently

Medical request 23rd March
Medical 30th March and updated as Passed on 1st April .

Currently I’ve paid for 1st term totaling 9,020 cad and my POF on personal account as at when I applied was 6.7m but currently my account is less than 2m. I’m worried because I don’t knw at what stage POf review is carried out . What do you guys think
You don't need to be afraid. Your POF is already verified hence the medical request which was sent. Has it been it was an upfront medical, would have asked you pray that they don't request for updated SOA. But as it is now, your ppl is on the way.

When it comes, remember to share the good news to help others learn few things from how you did yours.

Dear Friends,
Please attached are the concerns of the VO over my application. Kindly advise me on how to tackle it.

Thank you,
Hello Efizyhenchmen,

Just mu little deductions from the GCMS,

1). You submitted a blurred, ineligible SOA and didn't do well to explain your proof of fund and funds seem not reasonable for the studies you're going for. You need to work on your POF, your sponsor. Please explain to the VO who is your sponsor because the vo sighted 3rd party and or spouse. So who is/are your sponsor and what commitment did they make towards the study. most importantly, try to submit an eligible SOA next time.

2). As per home ties, how did you compose your home ties. It is that the VO is confused as to why used the applicant is Married or has family in either. Didn't you specify it clearly? Nevertheless, even with your married status and family, the VO noted that you're not established in your home country Nigeria.

In summary, I could see that you didn't explain well your home ties, and proof of funds well in your SOP. So do well to write a convincing SOP when reapplying.

Sorry for the refusal.

It will end in priases.

Perhaps this information may be beneficial to some.

For your medical screening, you will observe that spaces are getting filled up quite quickly nowadays to the extent that slots are no more available for April, the next slots available are from May 11 according to IOM and no available slot for April according to QLife as at yesterday.

After emailing QLife, they responded to me that more slots would be opened for April today. After frequently checking since 12:00am midnight today even though all April slots have initially been taken up, they have finally opened some slots for April and are being taken up quickly. This means they are reallocating slots which have been taken up initially but are not going to be utilized.

Act now before it's late.
Excellent. You did well ShowYoung.

To add to this, if you want to do medicals and from websites, all dates are booked, please always call the customer care numbers. Most times slot comes out even before it gets published as some people do not show up for medicals. So don't only rely on the information on the website. Always call them.

All the best.

Advanced Diploma IS NOT Post Graduate Diploma. It is below Post Graduate Diploma.

Graduate Certificate is same as Post Graduate Certificate.

You don't need a bachelor's degree for Advanced Diploma admission. The requirement for advanced Diploma is WAEC and or Ordinary Diploma.

Hello Professionals, kindly assist in this.
Did he apply through GCKey or the new Portal. If you applied through GCKey, then IMM 5257( schedule 1) is part of what you needed to fill and upload even though it was at the optional section of an application. It is in the optional section which is why you can actually submit your application without filling it. But your agent was wrong not to have included it. It takes nothing to add that. But I guess he cares not, as it wasn't his/her own.

Now my concern is, if he/she could leave the IMM 5257 form because it was in the optional section, I hope he uploaded your clients information document's in it's upload section as both are in the optional section of the application?

As a matter of fact, IMM 5257 is the temporary residence visa application form. So please kindly fill it and submit via webform and by mail ASAP.

Good day
Please help with this, does 1year diploma course mean the person can work for 1year after school and can the person take family with them for a 1year diploma.
Thanks
For 1 year course, you get 1 year PGWP.

As regards going with family, yes you can. Family of an international student is permitted to come stay with him/her via SOWP,VV etc.

Just note that VO's may tend to question the rational behind going with the whole family for just a year course. But it doesn't mean that it isn't obtainable. I have actually seen a 1 year PGD course applicant get family approval, but haven't seen for Ordinary Diploma.

So all you need is proper packaging of your application with concrete convincing reason(s) why you want to go with your family for such duration of course.

1year or 2years?

Thank you,
Hello Holuwatoyin,

8months course = 1year = 1year PGWP
8 + 8months courses = 16months = 2 or 3 years PGWP
1year course = 1year = 1 year PGWP
1+1 year courses = 2years = 2 or 3 years PGWP
2year course = 2years = 2 or 3 years PGWP

But note that we have seen case(s) of someone who did 2 year course and got 1 year PGWP while her classmates got 3 years
