Please should i be worried . I received my correspondence letter on feb 11 , up till now i haven't received my PPR but i can mostly see that in this section , they are received same day
If you received your BIL since 11th and no other mail till now, all I can say is congratulations. Start to bombard them with emails. Your VO left your PPR on his table and went on valentine grooves that's if you have done medicals.

Where no medicals, then is a 50/50. only few instances last year we saw people got PPR without medicals.

But don't be scared ok.

OtunbaBlack:
Alright guys I need clarity on some few things. I’m an aspirant and intend to apply later in the year, I’m trying to gather necessary documents and prepare well.

1) when you submit statement of account, is the closing balance really necessary? Cause I intend to use my mum as my sponsor and she buys and sells. Meaning the closing balance might be off. How much do you think it’s realistic to have to show POF and also must the morning be left in the account all through the duration of the visa process?

2) how many months statement of account is ok to submit.

3) my mum owns a business she has CAC but she uses her personal account run her business. Would this be an issue?

4) I work also but I don’t think using my own statement of account would work at all. Though I can easily get access to my pay slip. I’ve being working with company since early last year. I intend using my employment letter. Would it affect that I included my employment letter and not put my statement of account?

5) I have a brother in Canada, I’ll prefer not to mention him at all even as ties to Nigeria. I feel putting him in might deter my chances. What’s your take.

@ketima @makano @legacyedition @frankrobnn1 and other gurus. Over to you
Hello Otumba,

1). Is not necessarily about having huge money in account. For an account that is active with a lot of inflows and outflows, it is all good. All you need is show funds to cover atleast 1year Tuition + living expenses (board and room) + others ancillary fees.

2). Usually 4-6 account statement is ok. But you can go for MBS to help reduce the size of docs to upload.

3). Good she has CAC? If it is a buying and selling, you can indicate that taxes are paid as she pays for goods. Include the business receipts/invoices etc. Using her personal account isn't bad. Just simple explanation will do.

4). You really need to submit an account of your own no matter how small it's. Using a sposnor lifts a huge POF burden off your account but that doesn't mean you shouldn't submit your own account. So do well to submit yours too. If you're following this forum, some have submitted theirs will just a token and gotten permit. Or still, you may ask your sposnor to send living expenses into your account, then do gift deed to back it up. Also try to get leave approval letter.

5). Your application is about yourself, so you don't need to dwell on your siblings. In section of family ties, you may mention him but put more emphasis on your parents and or your immediate family if you're married. If you have enough socio-economic hometie, financial ties, assets, family or organizational ties to Nigeria, it supercedes any other tie with your brother. Even people whose brother's are resident in Canada that is sponsoring their studies in same Canada got their approvals. So don't worry about it. Your SOP is your tool. So do it well and you're good to go.

All the best

What if he still have the funds in his or her account?
Sometime last year or a year before in this forum or some other forum, IRCC or would I say the VO INTENTIONALLY delayed an applicants application just to see if the applicant POF was borrowed for demonstration purposes. What made us feel that maybe it was an intentional act was, after months (more than 2months of inactivity after requesting for updated POF), IRCC requested for another updated POF. This time around, immediately he/she submitted it, just an hour later, PPR landed.

So it is always adviced that even if one wants to borrow, please explain to the person that the fund will not be available for him or her for up to even 8months as the case maybe. So that the applicant won't be in delima when IRCC requests for updated POF ( which the usually do) by then, the money have been moved.

So to your question, if the money is still in his account and intact or have increased (but not with lumpsums but by little little deposits), then is a plus. VO may think maybe, this money isn't for demonstration purpose as initially thought.

mrczar:
Hello guys,

Attached is my GSM notes.

I will appreciate imputes on how to address it before my next application.

Thanks so much.
Hello Mrczar,

From your note, points of concern was;

1). Most of your available POF was a large lump sum deposit. And on top of that, you didn't explain and prove the source of the lumpsum. As a matter of fact, the VO felt the money was borrowed for demonstration purposes. So you need to work on that, explain how and where the money came from. Attach proof.

2). You claimed an annual rental income of 1million. Did you back it up with evidence such as the building papers, pictures of the building, tenancy agreements, reciepts of payment of rent by tenants, etc?

3). Tax: Now we have seen people that didn't submit tax Clearance certificate but still got their approval. I always advice when you start something, always endeavour to finish/complete it and not create a loophole(s) they VO will use as reason to reject you. You applied in 2021 maybe, and only submitted tax certificate of 2016 and maybe you started work before then or the company you used existed before then. So what then happens to their tax Clearance previous years and subsequent years. So you may need to submit all dated tax Clearance certificate, and or come up with justifiable reason for the omission.

4). Establishment: VO is concerned that you're not established in your country that will compel you to come back. Now, outside your job that you will come back to after studies, do you have any other socio-economic home ties to Nigeria? What financial ties you have in Nigeria. Assets, family ties or are you single etc. You may need to work on that if any. And if you have them, then guess you didn't explain it well in your SOP. So you need to explain it better in your LOE.

5). Study plan is vague: how do you categorize the course you want to read in Canada. Career progression or academic progression or non of the mentioned (change of career path)? If change of career path, did you do well in your SOP to outline and buttress on reasons why you want to pursue said course in Canada and not in your home country where it is cheaper? You really need to work on your PURPOSE OF STUDY, WHY THE COURSE and WHY CANADA.

That's my humble opinion. So sorry for your refusal.

All the best

Pls house I have a little issue.was given letter of admission by capebreton uni as an undergraduate program.wat am confused right now is if am starting by study permit application will I pay for the tuition during the visa processing or after bin issued visa.thanks and congrats to u all in advance.
Hello Vanmanzik,

Was there any deposite amount asked by the school to be paid at a specified time frame? If non, it is now at your discretion to pay a term or year tuition just to justify and solidify your claim that you actually want to go and study. But note that even paying 1 year tuition doesn't guarantee visa approval.

Many have gotten visa without paying a dime and many have being refused even after paying tuition of the whole program.

All you need is package your application well, show strong home ties back home and enough POF that will show how you have enough fund to pay for tuition(s) and living expenses for the duration of your studies.

All the best.

Julmbachu:
Good evening House, pls I’m at the verge of applying for my Study permit, my employer is sponsoring me & they also double as my marriage sponsor( Catholics would understand better) I have photo proof. Now here is my concern; is it wise I mention them as my marriage sponsor and back it up with pictures which is the major reason they chose to sponsor me or just leave it official as my employer? It is a full sponsorship and the management have sworn d affidavit of sponsorship & also the letter as well as we notarizing the bond and agreement. Is it necessary I put my bank statement even though there’s no tangible money in it? Finally pls which of the portals should I use? And at what point am I to pay the visa fee? Pls gurus in the house I need your input as I intend to submit my application on Friday for May intake. I’m a first time applicant @anon113 @Makano @ketima @frankrobbn1
Hello Julmbachu,

One thing in using a 3rd party sponsor is you have to prove beyond doubt why the person(s) have chosen to Sponsor you and what he/she stands to gain from sponsoring you. Also they try to check if the person ever sponsored you or just woke up or morning and decided to sposnor you? Now, is good he/she was your wedding Sponsor, so why would you want to leave that important information out?

So I would advice that you state it clearly in your SOP that he/she have always sponsored you and even sponsored your wedding. Attach wedding card that showed where it is stated he/she is your sponsor, then also attach picture proof (if you have pictures of you, your family and the sposnor at different functions) to solidify your proof. This is just to prove established long term relationship with this sposnor.

Now it happens your sponsor is your MD/CEO and your employer right? Now since the fund is coming from the company account, you will need board of directors letter of authorization, which will state that the board is aware of the Sponsorship and have consented to it.

Also, let your sponsor draft a letter with title "LETTER OF EXPLANATION". In this letter, Let him/her discus this points

1) Why he/she wants to sponsor you?

2) Relationship to applicant and previous sponsorship to applicant. (Why you explain yours in your SOP, this is where your sposnor will now explain his or her own sponsors he/she has rendered to you) please let your own and his/her own explanation not be same (plagiarism) but be explaining same thing. So if you're the one to draft it, let your choice of english be different but mean same thing.

3) How financially stable he/she is. Here, he/she explain how financially stable he/she is to sponsor you without it affecting the business, taking care of his immediate family.

4) What he/she and the company stands to gain from sponsoring you.

Then let him/her conclude the letter with summary of the 4points discussed above (Just summary).

Please since he/she is sponsoring you from the company account, Let him/her notarize this LOE along with sponsorship Letter, sponsorship declaration, board of directors consent letter all typed in company's letter headed paper, sign and stamp where necessary, then send it for notarizing.

Yes you need to attach your statement of accounts, preferably your salary account to show inflows and outflows and not all about sitting balance as you already have sposnor. Payslips, leave letter approval letter, etc

As for the portal to use and apply with, is your choice. I don't encourage anyone to use a preferred one. Both serve same purpose. As per how fast each is, someone by name Semtu applied through the GCKey ( the one applicants here call old portal lol, and got decision so fast that even the ones who applied with the new portal before him/her are still waiting. So the choice is yours. But have one thing in mind, in the new portal, the max size of documents to be uploaded is 2mb while in GCKey is 4mb. So make your choice ok

That's my little opinion. Let others guide you too.

All the best.

Pls i have a question. I sent the webform and emails with respect to my previous visa refusals and error on the previous mail sent to only Nairobi because i had been doing follow up mails on my application and Nairobi sent me a mail that they are processing my application. That was why i sent to only Nairobi.
Pls do i need to keep sending the webforms and emails daily. I mean webforms with respect to my previous visa refusals which i mistakenly didnt include in my form IMM1294e.

Kindly reply. Is there a way i can know they have recvd my mail and webform
Hello,

Be rest assured that every email and webform sent to IRCC is received even though many dont acknowledgment mail. Even webform and email sent to office not handlings applicants application gets sent to the office handling each applicants file by the IRCC office the webform/email was sent to.

Please as you have sent it and you're sure you sent the right one, kindly wait for a little more days or week before sending inquiry note.

Can I send a mail to you?
I have generated Fanshawe wire transfer detail on fly wire.
I am having a problem with filling form A in the bank, I was told to fill form A on CBN website and upload all documents required, I am worried that CBN will not know that they are to make payment through fly wire
E-FORM A

The E-FORM A is a new development from the Central Bank of Nigeria to replace the old paper based Form A that was previously in use (If you have made school fees payment through the Bank in the past, the Form A was one of the forms you filled and submitted alongside other documents).

The FORM A (either E-based or paper based) is a requisite document for making Foreign payments through the Nigerian Banking System. The form comes with a UNIQUE Reference number that is generated with your application.

So this new development means you do not have to visit the Bank physically to initiate your school fees or other invisible remittance payments(medical bills, PTA/BTA, Subscription payment, foreign consultancy payments e.t.c.) It’s like filling an online form.

STEPS
1. Visit the website tradesystem.gov.ng
2. On successful loading of the website click on Applicant
3. You will see a page to login in with your username and password. Before you can login, down the page, you will see an option for “Register now”. For first time users, you will have to register using your BVN (Biometric Verification Number).

P.S: Your BVN profile must carry an accessible email and phone number which will receive an One Time Password (OTP) to complete your registration. If the email or phone number on your BVN is not accessible, you’ll need to visit the Bank (not necessarily Bank branch) where you enrolled for your BVN to update your phone number and email. One of the document you’ll require may include a court affidavit.

4. You will be required to fill in different information to complete your application. If you’re making payment for schools fees, the following documents in soft copies are required to be uploaded on the portal;
1. Passport Biodata page
2. Undergraduate Certificate(If application is for M.Sc degree school fees payment)
3. Letter of offer of Admission
4. Payment Advise from the institution (stating the bank details of the institution and tuition amount).

5. There are 4 sections to be completed when filling this E-Form A.

Section 1: Applicant Information
Section 2: Trade Services
Section 3: Bank Details (Here you input the Bank details of the school you’re paying to, these details will be on the payment advise sent to you by the school)
Section 4: Attachments (Ensure to upload all the documents listed above, maximum file size per document is 2MB)
Section 5: Preview Form

Some answers to some information requested on the portal under the Trade Services Section of the Application.

a. Is Valid for Forex: Choose Yes
b. Trade Category: Educational Services (For those making school fees payment)
c. Transaction purpose: Postgraduate Studies
d. Tick educational fees

5. Select preferred financial Institution and branch for processing. It is advisable to choose a branch of the Bank closest to you, just in case you need to visit the Bank for follow up with copies of your documents just in case.

6. Preview form and submit.

This process is relatively new, so a lot of Banks are still trying to grasps it, so it’s advisable that once you’ve completed the application online, visit the bank branch that you chose to follow up and ensure that the branch has received and acted on your request.

Also not all bank branches have been profiled on the platform yet, so you may not see the branch closest to you, it’s also understandable.

Upon receipt of your application, the Bank will process based on availability of Forex (Foreign exchange). The Banks receive weekly, a certain amount of allocation of Forex from CBN. So requests are processed on first come first serve basis based on the available Forex. So it is advisable that you initiate your school fees payment at least two weeks before the deadline.

I mistakenly sent only the Uk refusals but with the date for the US refusals and i didnt send the USA refusals while i was single. Honestly these refusals have been so long ago. It skipped my mind though i included a scanned copy of my passport with the stamped dates for both embassies.

Pls is there a way to recall the webform and the emails which i sent.
Woow!! Chizitere you're tensed. Please can you calm your nerves down please. Please take a deep breath and calm down. I know you're so agitated but being in that mood won't help you.

Please this time around, relax and draft it well and include all refusals with reasons for refusal.

Also note in your LOE that the VO should disregard the earlier one sent as it was sent in error. But please this time around, don't make any mistake or forget to include any other refusal(s)

Hello Chizitere,

How long is your application? ASAP, you need to draft an LOE and explain all those your refusals (denials) from A-Z, stating the reason for your refusal.

Also you may need to fill up the imm form properly again, explain the reasons in the box provided, attach with your LOE and send via webform and email. Please do it immediately.

Hello house,
Please I need your advice. I will be applying for study permit soon. Someone wants to deposit some money to complete the proof of funds. My issue is that since we have to submit 4 months bank statement, is the person suppose to leave the money in the account for 4 months before I apply for the study permit? Note that nobody will want to leave a huge amount with someone for that long when he has things to do with his money.
Another thing is that ,my hubby wants to serve as a sponsor and I want the money deposited in his account. Won't they ask on how he had a large deposit if I apply for the study permit almost immediately the money was deposited?
Please I need your guidance and quick response. Thank you.
Hello Mimini,

We all should know that lumpsum isn't an issue so long as it will be properly explained that it isn't for demonstration purpose and prove provided on how it came about.

Else, I think you may need to ask this question privately to get private answer that may not be for public view.

Good morning nairalanders. I hope we had a good night rest. May this week favour us.
Please i deferred my admission and the school send me another acceptance letter. Should I upload that on my IRCC using Webform or it isn't necessary? Please kindly offer feedback, thank you
Hello Kidsister13,

How long is your application? Sending it right away is the best practice. But we know that any new document sent to like POF, LOA etc will require another evaluation and verification.

So I (my opinion) can advice that you should wait on a little and see if IRCC will request for it. If not, then you send it.

Note it that if IRCC is at the stage of approving an application, they won't reject it because the applicants resumption date is too close. Instead, they will request for updated LOA. Likewise if an application is heading to rejection, they won't change mind if the applicant sends in an updated LOA.

All the best

Please note that I have read the thread from the beginning even read many of the previous threads but I still don’t quite understand how to proceed in my situation.

The situation: I am currently in the UK with my family on study visa but my hubby says that’s he wants to apply for Canada study visa against winter 2023. I’ll be done with my studies jan 2023 and our visa would expire by May if we don’t apply for PSWV .

My questions: Can hubby apply for study visa with us dependent ( I have a child) or should hubby apply alone then we join later ?

If we all apply together would be VO not be concerned about home ties?

Hubby would be 34 is that too old for MSc?

For POF can hubby use his account in UK or he has to use Naira account since we hold Nigerian passports?

Please I’d appreciate if someone can respond to these
Hello MzGiwa,

As regards to applying from UK, while some have applied from countries other than their country of birth and have gotten study permits, some have also faced challenges. Can't pin point, but we have had someone here apply from Germany after completing studies and was successful and another person from turkey or so but wasn't. I guess maybe status of the person in that country played vial role. But then, if an application is well packaged, noting is impossible.

As for hubby's age, lol. Someone of 40yrs got permit for Diploma ( not even PGD) and here you're talking about 34 for Msc. He is over qualified in terms of age for the stage of degree he sorts.

One of the reasons VO's look at is home ties to country of birth. Hope you all have some socio economic home ties that can help in your application? Because as regards family ties (immediate family ties) to country, you guys don't have it except for extended family ties (parents/siblings).

Let him include his Nigeria account in showing money for POF. It will help in playing 2 roles, 1) show he has money 2) show that even though he is in the UK, he was still sending money home(financial ties back home). Unless the money in home country account is meager.

TYSM for your response.

Yes the pay is monthly. As advised I'll shift focus to early 2023.

Any idea of schools with high intake rate for Nigerians?

I grad'ed with a 1:1 if there's anything like that and looking for a software dev related course or data science as second choice. Thanks!
Which one is 1:1? You mean you graduated with low 1st class or what? Or are your referring to class of degree below 3rd class? Unless you mean pass which is around 1.0+ CGPA. In such case, advanced Diploma or PGD (if lucky enough) is your best bet.

Note that schools deal on merit not on quota system for international students. So if you merit it( be among the best) and surpass the admission requirements, you will surely get it.

Hello lamash,

The first huddle of Msc is to secure a supervisor. Once you do that, you have crossed 90% of the bridge.

As for MBA 2.1 and Bsc 2.2, is left for the school. But I have seen someone with high 2.2 in Bsc and high 2.1 in PDG, get admission in masters (though is course based).

Also, you said your target is fall 2022. Please as said the money will help you achieve your target of studying abroad, so is it this money you just got this month that you plan to use to achieve the dream by fall 2022?

Mind you:
1). Fall 2022 term application for Masters is even closed in many schools with only fee left

2) Most PGD School have started placing students on wait-list.
So if fall 2022 term is your target, you need to be quick about it and start applying ASAP.

I believe 2023 should be your target so that by then, you must have saved some money from your monthly income.

If you're thinking of going for fall 2022 term, you only have 6months (Feb to June) atleast to save and get living expenses+1year tuition. That's if you mean you earn 1mio monthly or you already have money set aside for the studies.

This is my first application and I saw 4 terms which confuses me does it mean 2years?

I am applying for pgd with my HND. Am on the right track?

All advices are welcome!
4terms is between 16 months and 24months depending on how your program is.

Some programs to 2 terms per year while some do 3 terms per year. Whichever way it is, it is termed 2year course.

If he had 2.2, there is no way he can apply for direct masters in Canada.
In this case, his explanation in the statement of purpose will be convincing.
Hello Atigba,

Hope you're doing good? As per the bolded, is not really correct. Yes is hard but not impossible. People here have witnessed or secured Masters admission with 2.2 class of GP.

As for for person in question, if he or she has secured admission in PDG, is ok. All the person need to do in the SOP is hint that one of the prerequisite for Msc in Canada is 2:1 and since he/she came out with 2.2, PGD is now the right choice of degree.

Thanks for the response. Is there any reference on this, and can they work 20 hours during that break?

What of regular students , can they work full time during their summer break?
Yes, regular student's can work full time during breaks and part time during studies. In his case, he has completed his studies (no more a student), so he is expected to apply for for PGWP to enable him work full time or even part time. So any work he does when not a student nor a PGWP holder could be termed illegal (I stand to be corrected).

Now, as for the reference, I still seek that too even from the last debate we had and not one person seem to point to where the reference stated students can or shouldn't work before for their classes resume.

I'm only airing my opinion based on what I will do so as not to jeopardize my dream. So is not compulsory one must do it. I know one of the main reasons Canada limited students to coming to Canada to just a month is because they will likely come to work before class resumes and believe you, if such is allowed, alot of student will keep deferring till their last option of deferring so that they will work full time Wella before starting school.

That's just my take sir/ma

Goodevening house, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this...

I want to apply for a graduate certificate program in a college, I have BSc and MSc, will I be asked for ielts?
First, why you want to go for PGD when you already have Msc?

No. IELTS isn't compulsory. Sometime last year the introduced NSE route which made IELTS mandatory. But along the line, seems it died a natural death as it doesn't seems to be working at the moment.

Please forgive me if my question is an olodo one. If his program ends May, and he's resuming a new program September, he's not allowed to work full time between May and September?
Frm question, I guess it was 1 year program and you want to do another one so as to qualify for 2-3years PGWP?

Sometime ago, there was a debate here as to is it ok and safe to work before your School resumes. Many adviced against why many said please the person can go ahead, that nothing will happen that others have done it and are now PR holders. I waited to see the person who did same to come give us first hand, but non came forward.

Now I will be sincere with you here. This a faceless forum and as such people can tell you things that even them wont do for fear of being denied PGWP at the end. I do tell my peoole that if one can stay jobless in Nigeria for 2 years and more without dying, why then will that person want to risk his dream because of few month 40hrs weekly job that may deny you lifetime 40hrs weekly income.

So my candid advice, to qualify for 2-3years PGWP, and about to start his next 1year studies concurrently, let him chill please. He is lucky he is already there. Let him be receiving atleast cool weather breeze till Sept ok.

My humble opinion though.

Withdrawal is good when the applicant recently submitted the app. If it is more than one month, the best might be to explain the omission because embassy may have made found out and just waiting to send the letter.
Yes. Info sharing is already completed so they already have the info. Her best bet is do a well explanatory LOE and send to them ASAP. withdrawal isn't an option as info sharing/background check is completed already and eligibility has resumed if not completed yet though not yet updated on application.

My concern isn't about rejection or ban but the effect in your future applications to other countries. Imagine having 10year ban from UK ad 5year ban from Canada. Other Countries will really feel she is synonymous to misrepresentation.

Please blessing, hope you have sent the LOE? The lord is your strength ok. Do not panic. God of oversight (if such exists) can be on your side when the VO might be going through you application.
