skentelelady:Hello Skentelelady, Now for choosing a course to study, you must prove to the VO that the course you want to read is either an academic progression or career career progression. And again, the level of course isn't solely (if below what you already have) a red flag so long as you convince the VO beyond that why you're going for such course. What that means is that you can go for a course below your degree and still get your approval. Now, academic wise, it is agriculture related course. Career wise, it is office Management. Also, you have a business. Now as it is years you have left School, your best line is to go for a career progressive course. In that case, the business related course you want to go for is ok. Now the concern is, you're finding it hard to get a PGD, which would have been the best option above advanced diploma or ordinary diploma. Now having 3rd class, I would advise that you just don't take it based on what mouth has said as I have seen 3rd class with good vast experience get PGD. But if you didn't get an offer for a PGD course, you can use that to your advantage to apply for study permit using advanced diploma. How do I mean? Now, we have come to realize that with proper explanations and proof of fact, study permit can easily be gotten, with touch of God's grace even by going for a course lower than what you have. Is so sad that recently, applicants finds it hard to share timelines and teach others what they did differently so others can learn. Even then they do share timelines, they do is haphazardly as if not really intended to do it but doing it to avoid being called out. Someone with your same case just got permit and up until now, hasn't even come to say he got PPR. I guess is all he was after. Now what I told him to do is this, apply for both PGD and advanced Diploma, if you get rejections from the PGD, you will use it in your favor. Again, that it worked for him( even though we don't know if that played a role), but is good to be creative in your application. Now, to explain in the purpose of visit why the course and level of course, we sighted the reason you stated about being 3rd class, Advanced Diploma was the right level of course as colleges didn't accept accepting him. He attached screenshots of the rejection letter. But note, it doesn't just end there when you're trying to explain your purpose of study. You also need to link the course to your career and how it can uplift your career. Make reference to the course being taught in the program and how it will boast your business. So in summary, give it a try in applying to both PGD and Advanced Diploma. Which ever that comes through for you, use it and get your visa. It is not a red flag to go for an ordinary diploma or Advanced Diploma when you already have a degree. Sorry for the long epistle, had to write it cos I don't knw when next I will be here to follow up. Sorry for any typo error you may notice. All the best. |
Nairalandboss:Guys guys!!! This ain't necessary you know. I was trying to pass it but couldn't. Just say let me drop some reply. We don't need to be attacking each other or feel we are above anyone here. Again for the fact that you got 3 and she got 1 doesn't mean the other is better off. No. So lets stop all this I pass my neighbour here and focus on what we are here for. To help each other navigate the rigorous nature of Canadian study visa route. This process isn't easy at all. It can be mentally draining. Lets learn to tolerate one another even when the other person says hurtful words. It can be hard to hold back but then, we are all here to help. Even the Canada you're referring to, is not this one tax is killing everybody? You will give black man, Asian man, white man, aboriginal, American man 100$, he will be thanking you and jumping up like you saved him from huge thing. A Canada where most people are living more or less living on mortgage. Yes is far better than Nigeria a million times but then. So please let's be calming down and help each other get through their visa process. Thank you all. |
ybahrbz91:Hello, Saskatoon is getting very cold by the morning and hot by afternoon. So don't bother buying winter cloth in Nigeria to be worn in saskatoon. If youre to come in during winter and have someoen on ground, let the person get you your winter jacket so you wear it as youre leaving the airport. it can be very very very cold in saskatoon. The temp can reach -50 (october 2021) |
favourdamsel:Hello Favour, Yes. it is always advised that sponsors show commitment by paying part or full tuition and to send atleast living expenses into the applicants account. So she is good to go. But then, let her do gift deed to back up the money sent to her, then sponsorship letter and declaration. |
SweetJJ:Congratulations sweetJJ. Don't worry, when they come, 1 year will just be like 1 day. So happy for you. |
Ocool:Hello, Recently, we have seen that people can enter Canada months before resumption of class. But have it in mind that it's not worth it if; 1). You don't have family to stay with 2). You won't need to pay for house rent 3). You won't need to feed yourself I assure you that no need wasting the precious money you have coming here early cos you can't start work until your class resumes. So you will end up spending the one you have. I must tell you, without work, coming here on time is a waste. |
Doree:Hello, Not really, but please kindly be ready to apply for extension as soon as spouse is touching down. That's if the don't issue him permit beyond the expiration of your permit or tht of his/her counterfoil. |
skull4eva:The main concern here is the spouse coming not even the kids. So have the following with you 1). Passport with stamp ( you and kids) 2). LOI(for you) no LoI for VV 3).Proof you're married to spouse in Canada ( all those docs submitted as proof of marriage) 4). Proof that those kids are you and spouse 5). ArriveCan 6). COVID-19 full vaccination/ test if not vaccinated 7). Your spouse should be on standby should Incase the call him or her for confirmation. This from experience. Also let your spouse know the permit he/she is coming with. One indian beside me was asked what he came for, he said student open work permit. The Officer asked him are you sure, he said yes. He told him to wait beside and called another person. Anyother thing I forgot, pls add |
lizzygurl:Hello, Sorry for the late reply. Since your course is a year and you have paid first semester, assuming is only one semester left, you need to show that you have the balance of the semester tuition, living expenses and spouse living expenses. |
Deronke1:Hello Dorenke1, Deferring won't invalidate your Visa. All you need do is update IRCC. How long do you intend to defer your admission? But note it that when you get to your first POE, due your deferral, IRCC may not give you study permit beyond the expiration of your counterfoil. If that's the case and your course extends beyond the counterfoil/study permit date, you will need to apply for study permit extension, 150days before the expiration of your permit. |
Boscojugunu:Hello, If your POF is sufficient enough to take care of both your tuition, living expenses and hers for the duration of your stay in Canada, you don't need another POF. But if not, you will need to add(show) additional POF that will take care of her living expenses. All the best |
Newww1:Hello, as you're already in Canada, please Kindly reach out to your MP by phone or walk in at visitation time and table your concern. He or she will gladly help you. But aside that, note it that both work permit and visit are temporary visas of which you're not supposed to have 2 temporary visas running concurrently. You can apply for SOWP for your spouse. IRCC may likely ask you to withdraw your spouse visiting visa application for onward assessment and approval of your spouse work permit. All the best |
Rheality:Hello, You can book AirCanada from anywhere in the world. The only issue from Nigeria is the CBN policy that's limiting online transactions. So if you have dollar card, go to AirCanada.com. is so straight forward. But note you can't book AirCanada going from Nigeria. They don't operate from Nigeria. As member of star alliance airlines, they work with Ethiopian airline. |
ybahrbz91:Hello, For flights like air Canada and WestJet, the only allow 1 23kg plus hand luggage. Any additional will be paid for. As for accomodation, you may need to use Facebook marketplace. It really helps. It helped me sure 2bedroom apartment for just 1k. So go there, many listing are there. All you do is if you get, someone present might help you to check it out, then you pay and sign the lease agreement. |
Profgordons:Congrats. Be rest assured that other members will get their Visas |
kichi2000:Hello kichi, You may need to be specific. Living expenses (for 1year) alone will engulf around 3.2m and you're left with only 2.4m of which can only be possible you're to to 1 year PGD course at memorial university. Outside that and for a 2 year course, that will not be enough. Then as per fixing it, I advise you leave it in your account. IRCC believes in the availability and accessibility of the fund. There is always that notion that money fixed isn't applicants money unless you present enough convincing documents for it and why it was fixed in the place |
adexmurphy:Congrats |
bucceryor:What's your question? |
gaeul:The spouse needs to show enough proof of fund(living expenses) for the duration of stay that is not the same for the spouse already studying in Canada. In summary, they need to show enough fund to cover main applicant tuition, living expenses and accompanying spouse living expenses for the duration of stay. |
Knowledgeispowe:Hello knowledge, You have to be specific with your question. Also read the first page to get some ideas, then come back and be specific so you get answers on the ones you don't understand. |
160485:Yes |
Opp1o:Hello, SOP and other docs are under supporting documents. So merge them accordingly and upload as single file under supporting document |
Opp1o:It was never a requirement for study permit application, except for EE. But feel free to submit if you so desire. No harm in doing so |
Qyt1:Hello, As always adviced, police clearance certificate is never needed unless requested by IRCC which is rarely done, though some person's have at one time were asked to submit it under ADR. Truth be told, submitting one doesn't give any edge over who didn't submit. Even IRCC don't rate our police clearance certificate. So, if you feel like doing it, fine you're free. There is no harm is attaching it to your application. |
gaeul:Have you made any communication with any school within the province of your study? You will have to choose not applicable but endeavour to talk (but dot dwell) about it in the SOP. And if you have made any significant efforts/inquiry about schools, do well state it and as well include EVERY correspondences between you and the school. If you have secured admission, endeavour to include that in the IMM forms. |
Teeaa2022:Yes, to the best of my knowledge. People have used it and gotten admission for Masters. Just ensure you have good CGPA |
princ3ssa:Hello, SOWP isn't just about him, but about you and him. You guys needs to show enough fund for your tuition and living expenses and his own living expenses for the duration of the stay. The money can be in same account or different accounts of yours and his. |
folla:LOI correspondence mail drops 24hrs after counterfoil is crested on passport. |
SweetJJ:Really, it still hasn't dropped? Just hold on ok.i know it ant be tiring but this is his week |
ActivatedDreams:Hello ActivatedDreams, I like your name though. Lol Now know it that land isn't just enough home ties. If you think showing millions plots of land as only home ties, you're getting wrong. For your hometie, you need to show how family, financially, economically, socially you're tied or established in your home country. All this is for them to see that you have what you will likely come back for after studies. Even though they know likely you won't. But when you're acquiring land, have it written in your POF section of your SOP that due to the drastic drop in value of naira, you deemed it necessary to INVEST in real estate/ land so as to establish your money rather than leaving it idle in your bank account. Then do evaluation of such properties if you can. But where you can't, you can do affidavit of fact, which will state you're the owner and quote current price of the land. But when doing this, ensure you have atleast a year tuition ( if you haven't paid) and living expenses showing in your account. IRCC too like available and easily accessible fund(s) |
Landing Gist! So on 12th of June, I set out to imo airport to board flight to Lagos for travel slated on the 14th june. Flight info Airline: Ethiopian airline, Air Canada, WestJet Time of flight: 1:40pm. Route: LAGOS - ADDIS ABABA - DUBLIN - TORONTO - CALGARY - SASKATOON. On the 14th, left house for MM1, got there around 9:30-10am for 1:40 flight. As I entered, went to immigration abi na custom people. Crowd was there. I gave them 1k and left without my luggage searched. From there, I went to agriculture unit, they said I will pay 2k for every bag ( I had 3 luggage with 1 hand luggage and laptop bag). I got angry there cos when I brought out money to pay them, they said I should stop showing the money that camera will see it that they only accept POS. There I knew that the money was illegal. Na there I knew I had I'm on top. At the end of the day, I paid 1k with thank you sir from them. The gave me a letter of declaration of the items I have. The didn't check it. Was only asking me and I'm telling them. From there I left to Ethiopian airline stand. I was asked to weigh the bag, Omo the kg was overwhelming but what was more overwhelming was the price I was asked to pay for excess. Now this the tip if you're to use Ethiopian airline when travelling and you have excess luggage, do what is called upgrade of your luggage instead of extra luggage (outside the 2 23kg/bag allocation). This will make you to pay lesser. Paying for extra luggage is higher than paying for upgrade. Upgrade is where you upgrade your 23kg to a 32kg. So at the end, I reduced my luggage to 2 overweight bag. Each weighing 31kg. If you have extra bag, even if is by just 1kg, you will be charged for the cost of 23kg. Also, know how to woo those guys weighing the luggage. I handed him 3k, told him to reduce the weight of the to 28kg ad 25kg respectively. So he wrote it down on my luggage for me and in the piece of pepper which I used to go pay. But know this may backfire cos, as I went to tag my bag and drooped it on the weighing lever, the guy said it was reading 31kg but what's on my payment receipt is 25kg and 28kg. But it passed. So be mindful when doing this part. It may not work for you. Someone before me paid 314k for extra luggage while I paid 46k for upgrade of my 2 luggage. From there, I proceeded to fill the yellow card, wrote the address I intend to stay at the back, went to immigration officers. Who stamped on my passport. Then to custom officers who scanned my hand luggage and laptop bag. From there I went to my gate for boarding. Note: I was only asked to show my ArriveCan, passport, COVID-19 vaccination card (I'm fully vaccinated) By 1:40, we all boarded and ready to move. We left at about 1:50pm if not mistaken. We got to Addis Ababa exactly 9pm Ethiopian time and 7pm Nigeria time. Went through immigration check. Then head to gate for boarding to Dublin. We left just after 10pm Ethiopian time. Not sure the exact time. Here, I was asked nothing. Just to show my ticket and passport. He wished me safe flight. Past 10pm, our flight left for Dublin (7hrs+ flight). We got to Dublin around 5am, Dublin time and Nigeria time. We didn't go down the airline. Crew and pilot was changed. Plane cleaned and refuelled. 45mins later, we left for TORONTO. 8:10am, we got to Toronto. I only have one word for Pearson international airport. MIGHTY. Mehn this airport is big. From where we disembarked to where I went for self declaration na marathon. Please if possible, let your carry on bag be the one with leg(roller) that you can drag. I suffered carrying my bag and laptop. Please also no form oo. Ask questions oo. The airport is MM1*5. So I got to declaration form machine, placed my passport, then answered questions asked by the machine. After submission, it took my picture and gave me a printout. I took the printout to where to get the my permit. I got there and stayed on the queue. It got to my turn. He asks for my passport. I gave him. He asked is it my first time. I said yes. He said congrats. Printed my permit and stamped my passport and said welcome to Canada. Under a min, I was done. I was even thinking maybe he isn't done. I asked him is that all, he smiled and said yes. I left there to go pick my luggage. After picking my luggage, I checked it in for my next flight to Calgary. Here another wahala began. The gate Ethiopian airline printed on my ticket wasn't the gate of my flight. After walking miles to find the gate, I stayed there. When it was my time, nothing was happening at the gate, I was surprised. Still I was waiting cos that's the gate on my ticket. Little did I know I was on the wrong gate. So as nothing was happening on the gate, I went to another gate to find out, I was told that I'm at the wrong gate and my flight is almost done boarding that I should run oo. Before I could get there, I was told the gate is closed that I should go change my flight to next one at the customer service office. Already my luggage was already checked in. So I now had to wait for another 4hrs for my new fly time. So please, if you're using Ethiopian airline, when you get to Air Canada, be asking them about your flight. Your flight gate might be wrong oo. I made the mistake, don't make same mistake. Got to Calgary around 5pm, Calgary time. By then my luggage was already waiting for me. I picked it and waited for my family to pick me up. So I will be here for a month before moving to saskatoon, my final destination. Canada is neat. Chilling at the park now flexing. All of us waiting for PPR shall surely come to this Canada. Currently roaming my Gloline here. It changes from Beno to Telus. My final note is, if you're flying with Ethiopian airline, please just be mindful of your self. Alot of drug peddlers going to Oman, Brazil, etc use them. So be mindful when someone just becomes unusually friendly. Wish us all the best ok. |
Congratulations to you Papapa1234 and many others who got their PPR. And to those waiting for theirs, be rest assured yours is coming. Don't give up. Amen |
