Buba Galadima, Chairman of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC), has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari never wanted to have anything to do with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. He stated this in the current edition of The Interview Magazine. Galadima also said he was the brain behind the alliance between the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), against Buhari’s wishes. Buhari and Tinubu were the leaders of CPC and ACN, two of the five legacy parties that formed the APC in 2014. “Buhari was the one against the alliance with Tinubu and I don’t want to say anything. Let Buhari deny what I have said. “I was for it and I organised it and wrote a memo that even produced a candidate for the vice presidency, this same Yemi Osinbajo,” Galadima said. The R-APC chairman also revealed he was planning to write an open letter to Buhari very soon. “If he was raising cattle in Daura, I wouldn’t bother about him. I’m criticising him because he’s the President of Nigeria and he’s not doing very well,” he added. http://dailypost.ng/2018/07/29/r-apc-chairman-buba-galadima-reveals-buhari-rejected-tinubu/amp/ |
IGBO Leaders of Thought, ILT, an umbrella of Igbo statesmen intelligentsia lead by Professor Ben Nwabueze, has told whoever is planning Presidency for Ndigbo in 2023 that Igbo Presidency is no longer on the cards of the nationality. They rather said that what would be more beneficial to Ndigbo and indeed the entire Nigerians is a restructured country, where Presidency would become less attractive and no longer an instrument for ethnic jingoism. The group also warned that the country is close to being equated with a failed state given the level of insecurity with attendant killings across states. It also spoke on the popular restructuring mantra and warned against escalated nepotism that it described as ‘political corruption.’ ILT made their positions known, Saturday, after two days meeting in Enugu, where the group said the focus of the meeting was anchored on the state of Nation and the National question. Addressing Newsmen after the meeting, Deputy Chairman of ILT, Prof Chiweyete Ejike together with the Secretary General of the group, Prof Elochukwu Amucheazi said that people were becoming poorer by the day and asked for revise of the hopless situations. Ejike said: “Igbo’s are not concerned about Presidency, we are concerned about restructuring. We want a fair and equitable Polity. “There is the issue of use of fund not appropriate by the National Assembly. It is not lawful and we are opposed to that. The selective application of war against corruption is not in order. The Case of Maina is a clear example. “Budgeting public fund for private ranching is corruption and a government that is fighting corruption is doing all these. “On the issue of killings, we feel that enough is not being done to stop the scandalous situation and the government should do more in the interest of the nationalities for existential threat. “There was no legislative reason to prescribe the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB. The federal government should deproscribe it because they have right to Self-determination.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/07/were-not-interested-in-2023-presidency-igbo-leaders/ |
The National Coordinator of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in Benue State, Alhaji Garus Gololo, has given reasons the police cannot arrest the leadership of the association. He spoke in response to the call by a former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, retd, that the leadership of the herders association should be interrogated by security agencies over the incessant killings in various parts of the country by suspected Fulani herdsmen. Gololo described the call by Gowon as uncalled for and unbefitting of an elder statesman. According to him, Gowon was only speaking for the people of the Middle Belt, adding that the killings were not limited to the region. DAILY POST reported that Gowon had last week in Makurdi, condemned the killings in the Middle Belt, demanding that Miyetti Allah leaders be invited for questioning. In response, Punch quoted the Miyetti Allah leader in Benue State as saying it was wrong for Gowon to have called for their arrest because they had not done anything criminal to warrant being invited by the police for questioning. “I don’t understand what Gowon meant because it is only criminals that the police can invite. If that is the case, who should be questioned in Zamfara, Borno, Rivers and Lagos where there have also been killings? “Just yesterday, four people were killed in Zamfara, who should the police invite? To me, it is very unfortunate for a former Head of State to have made such inciting comments. “What about the people who blocked roads in Jos and killed people; who have questioned them? And what about those people who were burnt to ashes and removed from vehicles in the Middle Belt, who have questioned those that killed them? Our people were burnt in vehicles at Daudu area in Benue State, who is to be questioned? “As far as I’m concerned, we are cattle breeders, we are peace lovers, we support peace and we will continue to preach peace. Honestly, I’m not happy with his comments and I’m disappointed. “No Miyetti Allah member would honour any invitation from the police in respect of any killings. Invitation? What for? “They would call you just because you are leading an organisation and something happened in any state; is that how things are done? “We are a registered organisation and we don’t have any dealing with the police as far as I’m concerned because we have a very robust and cordial relationship with them. The police cannot invite us because of a request made by someone because we’re friends with the police,” Gololo said. http://dailypost.ng/2018/07/28/herdsmen-killings-nigeria-police-cannot-arrest-us-miyetti-allah/ |

The oil that belong to the people of Niger Delta, APC and Buhari want to use it as a bargaining chip to lure those they accuse of corruption.Pls Buhari should leave our Oil alone and use their resources from the north. |
Why is APC so desperate and begging all the people they claimed are all corrupt. In 2015 after the emergence of Saraki as the President of the Senate. Buhari avoided Saraki because he claimed Saraki is corrupt. but today Buhari is going in cap in hand begging Saraki. Saraki should thank his God for his victory at the Supreme Court ,if the opposite should be the case, Buhari would have use him as a case study for his acclaimed fight against corruption. buhariguy:If peradventure PDP wins and control the federal gov in future what will happen to those that is appointed now, they will be 'weeded' out too. APC comes on board, the PDP appointees will be asked to go. The circle continues. Is it the type of country you want where appointment into sensitive position of gov agencies and parastatals is done base on party affiliation? Anytime I remember that this issues was first advocated by Adams Oshiomhole,a man i respect so much, I begin to imagine what our leaders really want. |

Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom at the banquet hall of the Government House in Makurdi on Monday announced that he is no longer with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Ortom stated this while swearing in the newly appointed Special Adviser on Local Government and Cheftaincy Affairs, Jerome Torshimbe, disclosing that the APC had given him ‘red card’ to quit party. Confirming the development to DAILYPOST on Monday, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, quoted the governor as saying that, “As for party, I’ve been given the red card and I’m now outside the pitch. So, if I have been given the red card and I’m standing outside, that means I’m a free man.” The Governor is yet to disclose his new found political party, but has, however, noted that as soon as he makes up his mind in that regard, he would make it known to the Benue people. “I don’t know what will happen next, but I’m waiting. If others approach me, then I will tell the Benue people that I’m joining another football club.” He, therefore, calld on the people of the state to remain united and not to allow party or ethnicity cause diversion among them, stressing that God who helped him to win in 2015 is well able to see him through in the coming general elections. “Let party or ethnicity not divide us. I’m a child of destiny and it’s only God that will decide what I will be. These challenges that we see today, we shall see them no more. All that we are required to do is not to begin to be wayward in our conduct but to move to the righteous side of God. Once we do that, things will work out for our good.” http://dailypost.ng/2018/07/16/breaking-gov-ortom-dumps-apc/amp/ |

THE Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the South East yesterday expressed shock over the decision of the South East governors not to accept grazing in the zone. Leader of the group, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, in a statement Thursday in Awka, said the decision was surprising to them considering the cordial relationship that had existed in the zone between the group and the five state governments. He said Miyetti Allah had never failed to appreciate the commitment of the host governors in ensuring their safety, even in their rational insistence that their people must not infringe on the rights of indigenous farmers to cultivate and harvest their crops without any hindrance. Siddiki said: “It is evident that our organization’s advocacy for peaceful coexistence among indigenous farmers and herdsmen is increasingly making successes in the South East. “This explains our surprise at the latest stand of the governors, which, if implemented, will not only frustrate our people from carrying out our legitimate livestock rearing business in this part of the country, but might be suggestive of a kind of suspicion that might undermine the mutuality of the claim of brotherhood. “We are mindful of the various negotiations and consultations still going on in respect of the contentious issues of ranching, colonies and grazing areas across the country, we are hopeful that these issues are considered dispassionately in the interest of Nigeria and the generality of it’s citizens. “We of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders of Nigeria, south east zone, consequent upon the existing understanding we enjoy with our hosts, and in response to the latest stand by the south east Governors forum, wish to reaffirm our confidence in the capacity of our host governors to encourage the growth of our legitimate trade in their geo political zone. “It is a very trying period in the history of Nigeria and it is our candid view that the south east whose citizens are the major bonding elements among the people of Nigeria, would provide exemplary leadership in accommodating other Nigerians in their midst, in so far such persons are legitimately engaged in their economic pursuits.” The South East governors had at the weekend in Enugu, during their meeting, agreed that open grazing by the cattle breeders would not be tolerated in the zone. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/07/grazing-miyetti-allah-expresses-shock-over-s-e-govs-decision/ |

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has announced its plan to sue the Nigerian army for alleged extra-judicial killings of Igbo youths during the September 2017 “Operation Python Dance II” in the states of the South-East zone. The Nigerian army had last year carried out a military operation code named: “Egwu Eke (Operation Python Dance 2)” to quell what they described as growing insecurity and insurrection by pro-Biafra agitators, especially the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the zone. During the operation, gory images of soldiers maltreating young men and women from the zone flooded the social and mainstream media prompting general outrage, international condemnation and the appeal by the South-East governors on President Muhammadu Buhari to call off the operation. Speaking during the monthly lecture series of the Centre for Memories, tagged“Nkata UmuIbe”, at the Enugu Sports Club, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo said that the organisation had on two occasions made presentations and demanded the military to investigate and prosecute soldiers that were involved in the operation, which he said violated the international rules of military engagement. Nwodo said that based on local and international reports, including that of Amnesty International, which investigated and put the casualty figure at over 150 youths murdered extra-judicially by Nigerian soldiers, Ohanaeze had thought that the army would have taken action long ago based on the assurances it gave the body during the two occasions they met on the issue, regretting that the military had remained silent till date. His words: “After that military operation, Ohanaeze went to the leadership of Nigerian military and showed the army the international rules of military engagement document which that operation violated. They promised to investigate and court marshal those that were involved. They gave the assurances on two occasions, Ohanaeze reminded them and they kept promising that those involved would be court marshalled. “But till date nothing has been done and the officers and men of the military who carried out the heinous act are still going about their business. At the moment, Ohanaeze is considering a court action to get redress.” Lamenting the spate of killings across the country by herdsmen and other militia groups, Nwodo said there was never a time in the history of Nigeria when the level of human carnage and disregard of sanctity of human life was so pronounced like now. “There is ominous sign and darkening cloud that if not properly handled will herald a disastrous rain. Our armed forces have been expropriated and manipulated by ethno-religious group,” he lamented. He said that Ndigbo are ready for restructuring of the country, noting that the economic and political committee set up by the group headed by former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo had developed a template which would form the Igbo position for restructuring. Nwodo regretted that some youths from the zone had been calling him names like “saboteur” because of his support for restructuring as against their call for self-determination, which according to him, both concepts are the same, but they don’t know. Earlier, the guest lecturer, Dr Okey Okechukwu, in his lecture entitled: “Eji Ndu Eme Gini?: Foundations of an Igbo Rebirth”, called on Ohanaeze Ndigbo to unite all the pro-Igbo organizations that are speaking on the welfare of Ndigbo for the purpose of having a common front on issues concerning the Igbo as a people. http://sunnewsonline.com/python-dance-ohanaeze-sue-nigerian-army/ |

The Hama Batta, Alhamdu Teneke , has said killer herdsmen , who attacked the Bare and Dowaya communities in the Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State , told the farmers that they would not allow the farmers to farm on their land . Criticism across the country followed the disclosure by the World Bank that President Muhammadu Buhari asked it to focus its activities on Northern Nigeria. Prominent northern leader, Dr Junaid Mohammed, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Afenifere, National Chairman of the United Progressives Party (UPP), Chief Chekwas Okorie, Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose and some legal practitioners, in separate interviews with Saturday Tribune, on Friday, described the president as sectional for giving the directive to the World Bank. Buhari’s directive to World Bank has proved him as an ethnic bigot —IYC Factional national president of the Ijaw Youth Council (Worldwide), Comrade Eric Omare, said that the directive given to the World Bank to focus on developing the North has proved its long-time submission that President Buhari is an ethnic bigot. Omare, speaking with Saturday Tribune on phone in Warri, Delta State, on Friday, described the directive as “unfortunate, unpresidential and unacceptable to the Niger Deltans and other parts of the country.” He contended that there was nothing happening in the North that has not happened or not happening in the Niger Delta region, adding, “Buhari is only demonstrating what he has said before and what he stands for. It’s unfortunate and highly condemnable. “There’s nothing that’s happening in the North East that’s not happening or has not happened in the Niger Delta. If we have IDPs in the North East, we also have IDPs in the Niger Delta and there hasn’t been given any presidential directive to address the devastation in the region. “The directive to the World Bank only came because the president came from the North. He’s a sectional president. Buhari is an ethnic bigot and we highly condemn such directive to the World Bank in favour of the North and at the detriment of other parts of the country, especially the Niger Delta region.” Buhari, a sectional leader-Fayose Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has said he was not surprised by the comment from the president of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, that President Buhari specifically directed that the financial institution should shift its focus to Northern Nigeria. He said “the president has never hidden the fact that he is a sectional leader and, painfully, because of his nepotism, religious bigotry and favouritism, Nigeria is now more divided than ever before, with the unity of the country being threatened. “The father-figure of this country is President Buhari and if his language does not represent unity, there will be agitations like we are witnessing now. I therefore restate my commitment to the call for full and total restructuring of Nigeria through dialogue and negotiation,” he said. More on: http://www.tribuneonlineng.com/115315/ |
