sod09: We may lose both Ramsey and Ivan gazidis Just when I thought development is taking place also heard usmaelov wants to sell his shares since kroneke ain't ready to back out We are losing neither, bro. Gazidis has worked for almost a decade to gain this much power at Arsenal. He isn't gonna just up and leave. Not for a club in shambles like AC Milan. And Ramsey is trying to get the best deal for himself. He probably sees this as his last big deal. Understandable. Relax. |

Spy360: What of Xhaka? Emery's suggested Midfield three include Torriera, Ramsey and Xhaka.
I fear for Ozil, he will be pushed further up and has to perform or suffer the inevitable. True But Emery doesn't do permanent first eleven. He tweaks his team to match a specific opponent. Expect to see different combinations in defence, midfield and attack. Those three you listed would be best suited against the bigger and better teams with Ozil and mhiki flanking Auba. More midfielders means more control. Against the smaller teams, however, I expect both Auba and Lacazette to start at the expense of one of Xhaka or Torreira. |

Fkhalifa: personally, coman type of player is the only thing lacking in the squad...
Top teams invest heavily on explosive wingers, city have 5,Liverpool has 3,utd have 4,Chelsea have 3,Bayern renewed contracts for robben and ribery at 34&35 years respectively, PSG broke the bank for neymar and mpabe..
Barca broke bank for dembele,Madrid are after hazard or mbape, don't forget bale,Vasquez and isco,Atlectico just got a lemar...
Bayern aren't willing to release coman, they see him as ribery&robben's replacement after selling Costa to juve..
At Arsenal we have NONE,and its a major factor in our declining form.
Attacking midfielders and strikers in ozil,Ramsey, welbeck, iwobi etc are often deployed to the wings and that makes our football so slow and overcrowding the midfield and also makes our opposition to defend so easy against us.
So I say Kingsley coman or his likes would be a big plus. Emery probably thinks he has a fast paced winger in Aubameyang (still won't mind another, though). I foresee him deploying the below system, especially against smaller teams:

Afolabi6046: naso una talk when Conte first arrived. You never can tell, but i'm not expecting us to contend for the title too. I never said that. Conte came to England a proven winner. Sarri on the other hand hasn't won anything. Not even the Copa Italia, despite having the second best team in Italy for more than two years. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by KevinDein: 9:22am On Jul 20, 2018 |
BlueAngel444: Liverpool, Chelsea, City to battle for the title (and in a distance to rival them United, Arsenal, Tottenham.)
Alisson to win BPL GK for the season. A new golden boot winner.
Chelsea to win atleast 1 trophy (europa) and appear in two finals.
UCL between Juventus and PSG, (and to an extent ATM, City, Liverpool, Madrid, Barca.) Oh i forgot Bayern
2018/2019 Chelsea won't challenge for the title, bro. Man Utd have a better shot at it, even. You'll be lucky to finish fourth (5th or 6th is more likely). And Sarri won't win you the Europa cup. He's not flexible enough to tweak his system and grind out wins, always hell bent on playing his Sarri-ball; more like wenger in his latter years at Arsenal. Probably inferior. |

BlueAngel444: Chelsea Vs United 3:0
Commentary: Now we have Hazard to Jorginho, Jorginho to Fabregas, back to Jorginho, to Fabregas to Jorginho again then to Willian to Ginho. United can't seem to touch the ball at this half hour mark, then to Fabregas, now to Kante back to Jorginho to Hazard to Ginho to Hazard to Ginho to Willian to Kante to Ginho to Fabregas.
Pogba is really a frustrated figure out there probably wondering why he didn't make the move. We have seen little of Matic, expect for that error that led to the early goal, Fred has been running tirelessly to cut out the passes but the ball is moving just too fast.
My word Ginho again, this should be fhis 40th pass as we approach half time, straight through to Hazard. De Gea had to be quick off his line, the united defenders couldn't keep track of those passes and almost got cut napping there.
Fabregas to Ginho to Fabregas to Ginho to Kante to Ginho to Willian to Ginho again. oh my the ref has finally blown for half time, this is sarri-ball in it's evolution. As much as this sounds a little bit troll-ish, it's not an entirely impossible scenario. Sarri does very well against teams that defend slightly deep, which, thankfully for Chelsea is most of EPL teams, Man Utd inclusive. He however struggles against high pressing teams (Man City, Shaktar and Leipzig all got the better of him in Europe last season). I expect him to have some degree of difficulty against any decent high pressing side. Pep, Klopp and Poch would be saying bring it on. |

We need any pound we can get; won't mind another signing. Rumors of Coman flying around (a long shot). Sell Ospina and/or Cech while you are at it. BTW, Liverpool and Klopp are building something special over there at Anfield. Allison FFS. All of a sudden their first 11 looks as good as Man city's. |

Amusing how clubs that have one or two world cup winners in their squad would come trolling on an Arsenal thread. At the moment Arsenal have two world cup winners, and at a point had 4 (Ozil, Mustafi, Per and Poldi).
It's similar to how some celebrated winning the carling cup but tried to downplay it when Arsenal won the FA cup (much bigger and more prestigious than carling) 3 times in 4 years. |

sod09: he was wasteful today...like he's not himself Wasteful in training...dont read too much in to that. He scored in the friendly BTW. Auba got a hat trick. Watched the highlight of that friendly and below are my observations; 1.It seems Unai is looking to squeeze in both Auba and Lacazette at the same time with Auba coming from the left flank. Similar to what we saw under Wenger. 2. Quicker transitions; far fewer touches than what we are used to under Wenger. 3. Chambers played as a DM. Unai loves his midfielders Scores: 8 nil to the Arsenal. Scoreline doesn't matter though. Boreham wood are in the fifth tier of English football. But still, putting things in perspective, Arsene's Arsenal only beat them 2 nil some time ago. |

MEANWHILE, IS IT ONLY ME THAT BELIEVE EMERY STILL HAS PLANS FOR A WINGER BASED ON HIS LATEST SPEECHES? It's probably just you. Emery isn't really obsessed with "typical" wingers. Take a look at his former teams, you'll find he usually uses attacking midfielders or strikers in the flanks (Mbappe and Draxler recently at PSG). He loves his midfielders though, and he could well love to add another. |

genoa no dey play quick attacking games oo...
Rebic would be a nice addition, but gawd knows that all these big guys go come for am... his release clause will increase x5...
gelson martins, would be good too... has he cancelled his contract? if not, he might not come cheap... His release clause is a constant, at least until he signs a new contract. It simply depends on Rebic himself; where he thinks is best for him. If he buys into your club's project and wanna be part of it, you just pay up the clause and agree personal terms. The player is yours. That said, Emery's words today didn't sound like he's in dire need of a winger. He seems happy with the squad available and would only bring in someone with top quality (didn't even specify winger). He sees Ozil, Mhki, Laca, Iwobi, Perez in the flanks and I'm not surprised. Look at his Valencia, Seville and PSG teams. |

They should not even try me today o! They are very much aware this isn't a friendly game. Apparently the English do defend very well and in numbers. NB: The utter dross, sleep inducing football has won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1 in 4 games against Arsenal since he started managing United. The utter dross, sleep inducing football has taken United from Europa to UCL football. Meanwhile Arsenal's attacking and brilliant football has taken them from UCL to Europa to Europa.
