Good day fellow NL it's been a while since I posted here. So today, I visited the St. Joseph Hospital Adazi, onicha in Anambra state of Nigeria. To my surprise, I saw a building with a glass display frontage laden with different types, shades and colors of caskets all on a competitive display pattern, just like clothes and jewelries displayed on a fashion shop. The most bizarre and shocking aspect is the caption in front of the shop - CASKET BOUTIQUE!. I couldn't help but go further to be sure of what I am seeing. I then took pictures. Several questions rang through my mind ; 1. Is this not a hospital where lives should be saved and the sick comforted ? why display caskets in this callous manner as if the place is a death camp where corpses are manufactured and as if the terminally sick are being mocked ? 2. Is this not a supposedly "missionary" style hospital whose mortuary and casket stores should be a reserved area ? 3. Are caskets meant to be displayed like fashion items in a "boutique" or kept inside the walls of a funeral home ? 4. Are the "missionary" morgues now competing with the likes of APAMA and other such private undertakers who are doing all the wrong things with regards to funerals and respect for the dead ? We need to do better !!

Good day fellow NL, it's been a while since I posted on this platform. Hope we are all doing well. I have seen pictures and videos online, portraying twins who are not physically separated, perhaps as a result of medical condition or some mysteries above my comprehension. In some cases these kids have one body but different head, that is to say that they think differently. Sometimes I wonder, what if one is feeling cold and the other is feeling heat or one is in love and the other has no business with love, but I think those questions seems irrelevant. What if one dies, what happens to the one that is alive? what are your thoughts? Or are these pictures AI generated? Have you ever wondered about these thoughts? what do you think, share your thoughts. |

Good morning beautiful nairaland family. Happy first Sunday of the month of December, how are you doing, I trust we're all good. Now I want to know from the bible scholars in the house. What language did the biblical Adam and Eve speak, was it Hebrew, Aramaic or French language? Or was it ikwerre or andoni language, what's your opinion. |
I'm Sorry! I Don't Care What Anyone Says. To Me The 90's Is The Best Era In Urban R&B & Hip Hop Music History Without Question! Now This Is No Disrespect To The Artists Of Other Eras Or About Being Bias In Any Way. I'm Just Speaking Facts With Proof Of The Artists Record Sales, Hits,& Classic Albums That Was Released At That Time To Backup My Statement. The Years Between 92 - 98 Was The Most Pivotal Moment In Urban R&B & Hip Hop Music History. That's When Most Of The Classic Albums From The 90's Was Released. I Mean Name Another Time Period That Was Greater Than That? The Sonic Vibrations That Was Coming Out Of The Speakers Was So Infectious. At The Time It Was Mostly Analog Keyboard Instrument Sounds & Drum Machine/Samplers That Was Used To Produce The Music. All That Hardware Analog Gear & Equipment Gave The Music A Much Warmer Sound. A Feeling That Can't Be Produced By Using Computer Software Instruments Of Today. Now When It Comes To The Artists, Who Can Forget When They First Heard The Music Of 2 Pac, Biggie, Nas, Jay Z, Wu Tang, A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J Blige, Jodeci, R Kelly, Aaliyah, Keith Sweat, SWV, TLC,& Many Others. The Music From That Era Was Hot! Also, Can't Forget The TV Shows & Movies That Came Out In The 90's As Well. It Seems Things Was Much Better Back Then. Anyone Who Feels Differently Can Feel Free To Debate & Give Their Opinion! #Music #HipHop #ListenToThis #VisualStoryteller

Growing up, I was told that longevity or long life is determined by being decent or obedience to ones parents or constituted authority, of which I accepted to be true. A local adage has it that "oknu nu nsi, ne gne te ru gbu'kpala", which means if you listen to your parents or if you are obedient to constituted authorities, you would live long, my question is, why do kids die, what causes still birth? Were those kids disobedient? Let's discuss. |

The current economic situation, the scarcity of naira and the political conflict in Nigeria, is it the will of God? Can we say God permitted it to happen or is it man made? Is the devil at work, or has God forsaken the country? What's your take on this? Hello Nairalanders |

CURRENT REALITY OF NIGERIA... *£1 = ₦980* *$1 = ₦890* *€1 = ₦810* *ATTENTION* *In case you don't know the root cause of our problems today, please take time out and read below:* *As of 25/07/2022, the exchange rates were:* *£1 = ₦800* *$1 = ₦670* *€1 = ₦662* *42 years ago, precisely on 25/07/1980 the exchange rate was:* *$1 = 0.80k* *Are you surprised?* *Well, we were far more productive in 1980 than we are today.* *In 1980 the key reasons for economic growth were as follows:* *1. We were a net exporter of refined petroleum products. Today we import all our refined petroleum products.* *2. We rode in locally assembled cars, buses and trucks. Peugeot cars in Kaduna and Volkswagen cars in Lagos.* *3. Leyland produced trucks/buses in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu also produced buses and trucks.* *4. Steyr in Bauchi produced our Agricultural tractors. And it was not just Assembly, we were producing many of the components:* *5. Vono products in Lagos produced the vehicle seats.* *6. Exide in Ibadan produced the batteries, not just for Nigeria but for the entire West Africa.* *7. IsoGlass and TSG in Ibadan produced the windshields.* *8. Ferrodo in Ibadan produced the brake pads and discs* *9. Dunlop produced Tyres in Lagos and Michelin Tyres were produced in Port Harcourt. And I mean tyres produced from rubber plantations located in Ogun, Bendel and Rivers State.* *10. We were listening to Radio and watching television sets assembled in Ibadan by Sanyo.* *11. We were using refrigerators, freezers and Airconditioners produced by Thermocool and Debo.* *12. We were putting on clothes produced from the UNTL Textile Mills in Kaduna and Chellarams in Lagos. They were Not from imported cotton but from cotton grown in Nigeria.* *13. Our water was running through pipes produced by Kwalipipe in Kano and Duraplast in Lagos .* *14. Our toilets were fitted with WC produced in Kano and Abeokuta.* *15 We were cooking with LPG gas stored inside gas cylinders produced at the NGC factory in Ibadan.* *16. Our electricity was flowing through cables produced by the Nigerian Wire and Cable, Ibadan; NOCACO in Kaduna and Kablemetal in Lagos and Port Harcourt.* *17. We had Bata and Lennards Stores producing the shoes we were putting on. The shoes were not from imported leather but from locally tanned leather in Kaduna*. *18. We were mainly flying our Airways, (the Nigeria Airways), to most places in the world. The Nigeria Airways was about the biggest in Africa at the time*. *19. Most of the foods we ate were grown or produced in Nigeria*. *We were producing all of the above and many more in 1980* *Today, we import almost everything. Isn't that alarming?* *There lies the source of the terrible exchange rate we are experiencing today and everyone reading this has a critical role to play in reversing this very UGLY trend.* *We have been talking about these problems and more for ages.* *It is not enough for us to complain about the exchange rate or point out what others are not doing or are failing to do. The key questions are:* *1. What are we producing now?* *2. What role are our so- called Leaders/ Politicians of today playing?* *We are forever shying away from responsibility whereas it is a stack reality and if we don't deal with it, it won't go away. In fact it will get worse*. *To our dear Politicians, if you don't have the capacity to RESET Nigeria to what it was at least back in 1980 then please stay in your house and don't waste our time.* *ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!* *Please share widely on all platforms for Nigerians especially youths to know the critical role to play with.. #Fixing_Nigeria*. *WE NEED A PERSON WITH VERY GOOD THINKING FACULTY PEOPLE TO RULE/LEAD OUR NATION.* What say ye to all these ☝️? Abdulrasheed Bello a.k.a JJC Skillz has reverted to Islam, his former religion, after his marriage to Nollywood actress turned politician, Funke Akindele, crashed, IGBERETV reports. In an Instagram post he shared, the singer who was originally born in Islam which he dumped for his mother's faith, revealed that he was lost before but he is now found. JJC wrote; "I was lost but now I’m found, O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this life and the next. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religious and worldly affairs, and my family and my wealth. O Allah, veil my weaknesses and set at ease my dismay, and preserve me from the front and from behind and on my right and on my left and from above, and I take refuge with You lest I be swallowed up by the earth." Lessons: (1). Don't let anyone push or persuade you to do what you don't want in the name of I LOVE YOU (2). Don't joke with your belief system (3). Your friend today may turn enemy tommorow. (4). When taking decisions as to who to spend the rest of your life with, consider who would share same belief with you, though same belief doesn't guarantee happy or successful marriage. (5). Don't be in a hurry to renounce your faith in the name of love, after all, does love really exist? |
