- Two oil workers of Shell Nigeria have been kidnapped in Rivers State.
- Two police escorts were also killed during the kidnap.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Thursday evening along the Ahoada-Ndele-Rumuji-Emohua axis of the East-West road, Rivers Staten.
The two kidnapped senior staff members of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) were said to be returning from an official trip from the neighbouring Bayelsa state when they were attacked by the gunmen, killing their security escorts.
A source in Shell who preferred anonymity confirmed that the senior staff members were returning from Bayelsa State about 4pm, Thursday, with their escorts when they were attacked.
source: https://www.titiloyeblog.com/2019/04/gunmen-abduct-two-shell-personnel-kill.html Wow. Now that Shell says it is apologizing for all its misdeeds in the Niger delta. Shell apologies but still sustaining in power the northern Buharis who refuse regional resource control, is like Shell giving two and taking ten.

Every now and then, Nigeria's govt acquires jet fighters and bombers to kill its citizens.
Nigeria has no external enemy.
The only enemies of Nigeria are the lazy drones who because of crude oil proceeds refuse political restructuring of Nigeria.
Boko Haram, bandits and herdsmen are all fighting for a country to be governed with Islamic Sharia criminal laws, the same laws adopted by the 12 northern Nigeria's states since 1999.
If Nigeria is restructured to make Islamic Sharia Criminal Laws constitutionally allowed in the Sharia states, Boko Haram, Bandits and Herdsmen violence must stop. |

SoNature: I think the EFCC will probe him under any of the two conditions: 1. The incoming governor encourages it by writing a petition to the agency with incriminating evidence 2. President Buhari does not interfere in the agency's SOP. Just a phone call from Aso Rock can end Rochas' probe. The second reason is one of the key reasons why I am disappointed in Buhari.
In the U.S., the DoJ just concluded the probe into the activities of Donald Trump during the last presidential election.
While the investigation was on, jittery Trump maintained that there was no collusion. Now, Mueller has concluded his investigation and has forwarded his report to the Congress. Everyone's waiting for the Congress's action. However, those in the know say that Mueller's report couldn't establish whether there was a collusion or not.
You see, I am particularly elated that there's a serious country out there, where a president is being probed to determine if he used external forces (Russians) to influence the outcome of their election.
But in Nigeria, Buhari doesn't just dictate to all the agencies of government, he also invites politicians from neighboring countries to his election campaign.
My point is, if Buhari does not strengthen our antigraft agencies and make them independent of executive control, rational observers (like Transparency International) will continue to see him as a big joker. You paint President Buhari as a man who condones corrupt practices by your insinuating that just a phone call by Buhari to EFCC, the anti corruption agency would stop probing questions to whoever. If you had just shut up on this Imo state thread. You don't have the brilliance to contribute to public discourse. You cite US justice system without knowing that some ill-guided statements you made above can warrant your being invited for questioning by law enforcement agencies. |

Now have you heard that the Akokwa to Ogboko to Orlu dual carriageway way of Okorocha govt has collapsed at Urashi River bridge area ? In effect, Ogboko is no longer accessible from Orlu by road? Floods from Orlu usually cut the Orlu-Ideato road into two. I made mention of 7 roads then you decided to take 4 just to suit your argument. What of the old owerri road, what of the new Owerri road that runs from Owerri to Orlu which is more than 57km, what of mgbee road that runs from Orlu to Akokwa(ie boundary between imo and anambra) that is more than 40km and all the new roads dualised in Ogboko which is a suburb of Orlu city? He wanted to expand the nkwerre road to nkwerre lga but was objected by nkwerre people who don't want their houses to be demolished, he also wanted to dualised the road that led to holy Trinity cathedral, the seat Bishop of Orlu diocese and build a drainage that run through the community for collection of flood from Orlu city to ogidi valley but was rejected by Umuokpara/Orlu nwaofor people.
Brother, you said that Rochas built a one-city state, but can you give me a past imo governor that gave attention to other imo towns and cities than Rochas? In Orlu alone, he beautified it by expanding all the aforementioned roads, built new stadium, built an event center almost opposite the new stadium, built school of health and nursing technology in Okporo, upgrade Tesac to Imo state polytechnic Orlu campus, upgraded the Imsuth, which you've been shouting of the poor state of the road that leads to it without knowing the present upgrade of the teaching hospital, he built a general hospital beside the new stadium though not fully equipped which I'm expecting Ihedioha to do so, built new markets, dualised a road at back of Udenwa's house though not completed as at last 2yrs just like the ones beside the children park and opposite St. Joseph Catholic Church, the wife built skill acquisition center beside the new stadium and built houses for widows. Rochas built a building materials market still in same area, refurbished the Umuna central school, built the Eastern palm University Ogboko which was meant to be the new Imo state University but was rejected by Owerri people. The records are there for any one to verify.
He created a 20,000 job in Imo state since 2015 which Orlu people benefited like their other folks from other zones of the state. Orlu also benefited from free education.
In Okigwe, he dualised the Okigwe main road which is more than 8km, built a new stadium, built all the adjoining streets, dualised the road that leads to the new stadium, built the imo state University of engineering, Onuimo, the princess hotel under construction and a general hospital.
Other towns of Imo state are not left out like Oguta, Umuka, Mgbidi, Mbaise where he built the Imo state University of agriculture and vetenary medicine and Obowo where he built the Maleysian market.
He completed the blocks for the 27 Imo general hospitals which the incoming governor will equip the ones that have not been equipped.
Imo state does not have that money and this man really did magic in Imo state, so as Igbos I think we should appreciate he irrespective of his party affliction. B2mario, You are a serial liar. You live by propagating falsehood for politicians. 1) From Orlu to Owerri road distance is not 57 km; it's 38.8 kms. 2) From Orlu pass Ogboko roundabout to Akokwa is not 40 kms; its 13.7 kms. Okorocha enlarged this Owerri pass Orlu to Akokwa road for his business in Ogboko. Orlu-Ihialla road, the economic route of Orlu to Onitsha laid non navigable since Okorocha is in power till a local representative got to its repair. I don't have time to debunk all the lies you put up there. But fact is: Gov Okorocha underdeveloped Orlu, depopulated Orlu, economically marginalized people from Orlu area, but economically empowered native land owners of Owerri zone through lavishing nearly all his government's development efforts on Owerri with the eight years federal allocations of Imo state and its 27 local government areas. Scrapped and abandoned roads in Orlu. Old Orlu -Owerri road has remained dusty after it was scrapped by Okorocha govt since 2012. The road from International Market pass St Joseph Catholic Church Umuna to TESAC remains scrapped. The road to oldest Girls Secondary School Orlu from Amaigbo Road remains scrapped since 2012. Umuna Street remains scrapped since 2018. The road to Carrot Junction from Ihioma road remains scrapped since 2012. The roads to the economic nerve of Orlu - international market - have all worn out since 2013, none repaired. Orlu stadium dismantled by Okorocha in 2012 is no more functional as the exposed seats have rotten, long after the empty stadium was re-roofed 2 yrs ago. FYI. laying green synthetic turfs on the ground, then chairs that shall rot soon because of no roofs - don't count that as new Orlu stadium. You people have been told: tell Okorocha to complete the roads he scrapped or initiated in Orlu municipal local government area, for his misdeeds against Orlu to lessen. |

Cost of landed property in Abuja does not tally with global trends.
Globally, cost of landed property is tied to the number of industries, population and availability of space.
The more the population, industries and Service companies in a city, the higher the cost of landed property.
The lesser the space in a highly populated city, the higher the cost of landed property in the city.
But Abuja has no industries and Service companies. Abuja has little population. Abuja has all the space to build.
Yet cost of landed property in Abuja is very high, often higher than in highly populated and industrialized cities of the industrialized countries.
Fact is: cost of landed property in Abuja is fraudulent. |

You said just 4 roads? Chai, brother there's God ooo. Are you sure you know Orlu too well? In Orlu, he dualised Amaigbo/nkwerre road, Old Owerri road, new Owerri road, asika ilobi avenue, bank road, Owus avenue and orlu/ideato road (which is more than 40km). So count and tell me how many they are. Stop your usual exaggeration: In Orlu urban local government area, the second most populated town in Imo state, Okorocha govt dualized/enlarged: 1) Ihioma road -- 1.8km/Amaigbo road 500meters. 2) Owus Avenue -- 600 meters. 3) Asika Ilobi Avenue/Enugu road -- 600 meters. 4) Bank road --- 300 meters. Total 3.8 kms. Okorocha must have dualized or paved up to 60kms of Owerri streets. More than 40 kms of Orlu urban streets are either dilapidated or brown - unpaved Your adding to Orlu the road from Owerri pass Orlu to Akokwa which Rochas is enlarging to lead to his Ogboko businesses and hometown - that is not it. Who is fooled? Alhaji Tijani Street beginning from Orlu stadium to Old Owerri road is not through to Y junction, therefore hardly useful. So why terming them substandard while they've lasted for more than 6yrs.
Mind you, Rochas patronized local contractors and local products which is appreciable and Imo is not rich. So we have all it takes to appreciate Rochas, he is a good economist and a good manager. As you said, Rochas Okorocha made Owerri look like London, but Orlu outside the four streets enlarged by Okorocha looks like hell. Little rain wrecks havoc because Okorocha refused to complete Orlu urban drainage gutter. Most of the inner streets of Orlu are dilapidated, no maintenance since 2011. Okorocha seems bent on leaving office without completing work on the more than 15kms of roads he either scrapped or initiated in Orlu. If he does, he has set a precedence that shall never go well in this region. |

AutoReportNG: If the Federal and State law enforcement in Nigeria are asked to state their major challenges with drivers in Nigeria, we are sure phone calls, text-driving and browsing while driving will top their list.
While this is a global issue which has caused loss of lives and causes series of accidents for road users around the world, Police in the UK seem to have found a long lasting solution to this menace.
According to Bloomberg, Police have unveiled a new device which can detect when motorists are using their mobile phones while driving.
Hampshire and Thames Valley police forces are the first to use the new technology which can determine how many cars on a stretch of road have phones being used without hands-free kits.
When the device, created by technology firm Westcotec, spots a phone being used, it will flash a mobile phone symbol at the vehicle to advise the driver to stop using their mobile phone.
It can also enable police to identify hotspots where mobile phones are frequently used by motorists.
A spokesman for the two forces said: “The technology can detect when Bluetooth is being used but cannot detect if a passenger is using the phone, but the sign will still be activated reminding motorists of the distraction of a mobile phone whilst driving.”
The only disadvantage of this device is that It’s a Bluetooth detector... and all it detects is if the Bluetooth is activated.

daddytime: Lol...
Sometimes I just seat and wonder how civil servants and minimum wage earners can live in Abuja/other expensive cities, and comfortably afford the high cost of rentals which is often thrice or more of their annual salaries.
As a government, you rightly have a cap on salaries and how much you can pay your workers who must be living in these areas to be able to work for you but you forgot or choose to forget to place cap on rentals such that your citizens/workers won't be over-exploited and would have some change to feed and meet other needs.
How the government hopes to fight or discourage corruption without tackling these basics still seems to me like a mirage. Nigeria itself was refashioned on FRAUD by northern military dictators who supervised Nigeria's constitution, restructured Nigeria politically, took the capital of the country from Lagos to Abuja, created an artificial city of Abuja with high cost of landed property, an Abuja City not sustained by any industries or Services, but sustained by crude oil proceeds from hundreds of kilometers away in the Niger delta. Civil servants are therefore constrained to live and survive in Abuja on FRAUD. |
