Rochas Okorocha finished himself in Imo politically.

Even a hardly known Onyeoriri of PDP contesting against Rochas for Orlu zone senate has made Rochas Okorocha been sweating under his pants. Rochas took to inflating result sheet in his two home Ideato LGAs, yet he can't win Senate seat.

Between December and February, I have travelled to Imo state twice and to be honest, I'm disappointed.

Passing Tru Owerri, Orlu, Okigwe, and my place Mbaise and all I can say is that we have wasted 8 years.

The roads are substandard, not sure Julius Berger, Pw, Rcc or Hitec has constructed any road in Imo state.

My home town, Mbaise is Worse, no sign of government presence except the little road projects due to the influence of Mr John former FCT perm sec, and Jonny Opara former Pilgrim boss and little effort from Igbokwe at the Federal House.

I thought in 2011 Rochas was the savior, but with what he has done, I don't know who to believe anymore, I've lost faith in Imo politicians.

I hope Rochas gets to the Senate, so that if APC wins the Presidential polls, the South East can have a loud voice in the Senate. But I'm disappointed by his performance, Imo can do better.

I've been to Plateau, Abia and Enugu, and I want to say that, Imo is lagging behind. At least these states are her mates.

For all the pictures being posted here, everything in real life, with the eyes are just ordinary, nothing special. And if I may ask, what's the reason behind building iron bars as decoration on roads, I still don't get it.
Owerri colonized Imo state.

Owerri has the most educated population in Imo state, aided by Owerri hosting all seven tertiary education institutions in Imo state clustered around Owerri.

Any new governor who enters Douglas House automatically transforms to become Mayor of Owerri Capital Territory, expands Owerri toward the ends of Owerri zone.

Every new governor does eye catching development projects in Owerri,
Owerri people clap. Governor disappears the money meant for development of the other 23 or so LGAs.

He proceeded to hail them by shouting 'Igbo Kwenu'.

In Part 1 of the tapes released earlier today, Tinubu was heard promising to give massive amounts of money to members of the party if President Buhari emerges victorious in the 2019 General Elections.

And we re also not bastards in the SW to abandon our son...

But another Yoruba son countered and wrote:

Dear Yorubas,
90% of Igbo people will vote ATIKU in the next election.

*It is not because he picked Peter Obi.*

See the facts:

In 2003 BUHARI picked Chuba Okadigbo and the Igbos voted OBASANJO.
They are business oriented people, they know bad market when they see one.

Dear Hausa /Fulani.
In 2007 BUHARI picked Edwin Ume-Ezeoke, yet the Igbos voted Yaradua!

BUHARI cannot manage the economy, as you have seen it. Experience they say is the best teacher.
Igbos hate poverty and have never made mistakes in their choice of President in Nigerian History.

Even after the civil war, Igbos rebuilt themselves with nothing to the envy of other Nigerians.
Igbos do not hate Buhari, but they hate the POVERTY associated with Buhari and his Government.

Copied with some amendment.

*And I add*:
In 1979 & 1983, Shagari/NPN picked *Ekwueme* (very well respected & reverred, with an "agreement in place to become President by 1987) YET Ndi Igbo voted OVERWHELMINGLY for NPP. Some reasonable numbers equally voted UPN; there's no hullabaloo about *endorsement embarrassment*!

Abagworo:
You are contradicting yourself here. The teaching Hospital is not 25 mins drive away from Owerri. Isn't it amazing that almost 80% of Imo citizens don't know the location of the teaching hospital? The reason is simply poor siting. Such Hospital should be at an easily accessible location like UPTH along East-West road or UBTH along Lagos-Benin road etc. I suspect it was for selfish reason Udenwa sited it in an obscure area without even creating access dualized road to it. The Orlu International market is also poorly sited.

Hopefully future Governor will have to demolish houses to construct befitting road and then link the road to new Owerri expressway. I know very well that if Okorocha does it you and other never do wells will be the 1st to call him names for building roads to the hospital instead of footpaths.
What has stopped Rochas Okorocha in 8 donkey years from reconstruction of the failed 1.4km road to IMSUTH from the busy federal Amaigbo road to Car Wash junction on Old Owerri road Orlu?

If you and Okorocha are obsessed with locating IMSUTH on the Express road, govt could have extended reconstruction beyond the opposite road from Car Wash junction to the Express road (about 2km distance)

These two roads were built by Udenwa government to link the teaching hospital to the Express road.

Remember that Okorocha scrapped and still abandoned the portion of Old Owerri road from Nnenasa Y-junction to Car wash junction leading to IMSUTH.

Please stop looking for excuses of obscurity to justify Okorocha's witchcraft against IMSUTH. No place is obscure if a road is built to link it. After all, about four years ago, IMSUTH students had severally reminded Okorocha to remember his promise to dualize the road to IMSUTH.

Orlu elders went to Govt House Owerri in 2016 and pleaded with Okorocha to repair the road. Okorocha's response to the elders was they should come to take over Owerri City as their own.

You now pass the buck up to next governor to dualize the road to IMSUTH. Smart.

Talking about Eastern palm, Are you insinuating that private Universities like afe babalola, Covenant, igbinedion, Babcock, baze, bowen etc have little or no impact in their host communities and the state's development by extension since their inception?

Tell me more, I'm all ears.
Since 17 years, Imo state government started a University teaching hospital in Orlu, but the structures of the teaching hospital are yet to be completed
half way, not even equipped halfway - after 17 years.

You give a nod to Okorocha to establish branches of the teaching hospital - call it cancer, neurological science, genetics, pediatrics, psychological science, diabetes, etc departments in locations outside the teaching hospital.
If you have no one to tell tell you that you are a worst administrator for the state, you are in trouble.
You are wrecking the state through wasting it's scarce resources.

The standard in the developed and good developing world is have General hospitals in population clusters;
have bigger hospitals with equipped laboratory to analyse blood and stool specimens, in say, the three senatorial zones of Imo state;

then a referral, major diagnostic, teaching hospital anywhere in the state where medical experts congregate to treat referral cases, diagnose complex illnesses, research and fashion out tertiary health care and policies of the state.

Health care is one of the most expensive cost heads;
even the richest states in the richest countries of the world can't afford to pay for scattering medical experts, research and diagnostic equipments in many localities in a small population/land mass state like Imo.

From Owerri to Orlu is about 25 minutes bus ride, how do people feel so lazy to travel the short distance for their referral any more, as we had it when IMSUTH was established?

I give up replying to you lot in Imo state who believe, with Rochas Okorocha and Uche Nwosu that any govt development project in the state not located in the state capital must be killed at all costs.

The war of words between the Lagos governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Peoples Democratic Party, Jimi Agbaje, continued on Friday, as the APC flag bearer promised to retire his rival after the March 2 election.

Sanwo-Olu said he was proud of being called a puppet of the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, adding that it meant he had mastered the art and science of governance.

He spoke while reacting to a statement by Agbaje, in which the latter described him as a puppet.

The APC candidate, in a statement by his media team, said he sympathised with Agbaje over the “imminent disgraceful defeat awaiting him at the March 2 poll, and consequent retirement from four years electoral cycle contest.”

“Sanwo-Olu described Agbaje’s recent vituperation, where he described him as a puppet to the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as a not only complimentary, but an affirmation of the notion that he is the most experienced for the job, having been properly schooled in the art and science of governance.

“He further reminded Mr Agbaje and his co-travellers in the journey of political ignominy of an incontrovertible fact that he (Mr Sanwo-Olu) has been part of the progressive social, economic and political trajectory of modern Lagos, which started with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and was passed on to the actualiser, Mr Babatunde Fashola, who in turn handed over to the incumbent governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, for consolidation.

“Mr Sanwo-Olu’s private and public experience is not what the likes of Jimi Agbaje could buy over a supermarket shelf, and would take them at least two decades of quality experience to place them on the same pedestal like him,” the statement said.

The statement berated Agbaje for promising to spend 50 per cent of the state’s budget on education, saying he was a learner for leaving out several critical areas of daily existence.

Fool me one more time bro,

How can IMSUTH orlu cater for all health care needs of the state, when you have been on this sojourn of advocating for decentralization of developments all these years, isn't that double-speaking?

Here you are still harping your repetitive rhythm that owelle is the devil, but you forgot he wasn't on the saddle for the complete stretch of 17 years you just mentioned,

For me duplicity of health structures anywhere is a win, that those ones were set up in owerri doesn't in any miniscule way, take away the shine of orlu, it is only in your mind,

Going by your logic, Isn't it safe for okigwe zone to cry wolf that they equally deserve their own IMSUTH.

Perhaps we could equally have two more airports and state houses in Orlu and okigwe zones. Innit?

For me the bottom line of your stipulation is more equipments and rehabilitation of the scrapped roads leading to the orlu IMSUTH,

If owelle was the devil, one would have expected him to have the orlu stadiums and new markets to remain a pipedream in the zone.

Despite the fact that the relocation of the state University didn't materialise, he opted for the option of having the eastern palm within orlu, you still castigated him for it.

Never seen you talk about the achievements of your senator uzodinma within your zone.

You're Apportioning your blames disproportionately.
My friend,
Move over to the developed world, one University teaching hospital, wherever established in a state like Imo, is more than enough for the state's diagnostic, referral, research and teaching needs of Imo state.

University teaching hospital is not a General hospital that needs to be built in every corner of Imo state.

I don't think there are up to 300 students in Imo state University teaching hospital Orlu.

There are more than 100,000 students clustered in Owerri in the about 6 public tertiary education institutions in Imo state clustered around Owerri.

These institutions fetch about N1 billion per month for development of Owerri.
Okorocha's Eastern Palm University in his village is a private university. Private Universities anywhere contribute little to the development of the locality located.

Gov Evan Enwerem refused to observe zoning but located IMSU in Owerri on a dilapidated school building, whereas, there was a better, larger and newly refurbished university facility in Orlu at the closed campus of Alvan Ikoku College of education in Orlu.
There were FUTO, AICE and PolyNekede in Owerri then. Fraud.

You earlier mentioned the contribution of tertiary education institutions to the development of Owerri.

Imo state needs to permanently locate IMSU in Orlu or Okigwe zone to induce development, mass education and rapid modernization of the Urban centres in Orlu or Okigwe.

Having Owerri a donkey years of modernity and urbanization ahead of rest of Imo state is abnormal, situation like this is not permitted by administrators of modern societies.

Falsehood made in Owerri and sold to the masses, and even to the elites, including Rochas Okorocha, in Imo state.

.Google "many US State capitals are less developed than other cities in the same state," to get yourself better informed.

Above all, there is no provision in Nigeria's constitution that stipulates that state capital is to be accorded top priority. You swim in abject ignorance.
Deal with your poor education.

Those who created Nigeria into states and to senatorial zones and LGAs had in mind uniform development through fair distribution of government development infrastructures in the three senatorial zones, NEVER TO ACCORD TOP PRORITY TO STATE CAPITAL.

They knew, unlike your sort in Imo state, that according top priority to stare capital leads to state capital absorbing population and businesses in it, expand. As this goes on, at some point, successive governors must be constrained to use most of the state funds to continue to provide matching development infrastructures to the rapidly expanding state capital.

The result is that there must no longer be enough funds to even provide the most basic social infrastructures in the crumbling localities outside the state capital.

This has already set in Imo state.

Easy bro,

Owelle isn't duplicitous, True he could be unpredictable at times.

What he is doing is specialist hospital, while the other is a free mother to child referral centre, not University teaching hospital, you mixing things up, that's diversionary, however I would have preferred another government set up another of such in other zones for balance.

Government is a continuum, I guess he got consumed with the power play btw owerri /orlu zone on the full scale relocation of the state University's permanent site, of which became mission impossible,

However, indications then showed he wouldn't want the already acquired land and structure put in place to become a wasteful venture, hence the idea of Eastern palm University, but be that as it may, today we can equally see the efforts he made to put up some faculties as a decentralizing strategy, though by bits which materialised in aboh /ngor kpala, onuimo, mbaise etc, plus the taking off of a new one in ohaji touted to be college of education, though still befuddled of what became the idea of marine University.

You can't totally righoff such an investment of Eastern palm, because in the nearest future, we gonna see the impact of its multipler - effects.

You know federal government investment in institutions is incomparable to that of states, hence the gradual approach, if owelle is truly wicked, he wouldn't have instigated the idea of decentralizing the institutions in the first place.

The idea of using the satellite images is to buttress the fact that had any of the federal institutions been set up abinitio in any of the tripartite zones bar owerri, situations would have changed. So for me, it is more of a collective blame that should be shared, instead of singling out owelle and calling for his crucifixion.

I equally took sat - images of IMSUTH orlu,
Are you implying that of all these structures set up here, none is in owelle's name?
Bros.

There has been a Imo Specialist Hospital Umuguma in Owerri established by Udenwa government the same time Imo state University teaching hospital was established in Orlu. So why Okorocha duplicating specialist hospital in Owerri while IMSUTH is abandoned by Okorocha? IMSUTH was rated among the best ten teaching hospitals in Nigeria in its early years.
.
Okorocha came and has been equipping the Imo Specialist Hospital in Owerri since he became governor, but not Imo state University teaching hospital Orlu.

It's the seventh year Okorocha refused to asphalt the dilapidated 1.4km main road leading to IMSUTH Orlu, while Okorocha builds all the main roads leading to Specialist hospital and IMSU in Owerri.

Earliest during his tenure, Okorocha built many Ochiedike and other diagnostic labs in Owerri. If he had wished IMSUTH well right from day one, he might have built the many Ochiedike and other diagnostic labs in IMSUTH to increase the worth of the diagnostic, referral and research institution which does not need to be located in the state capital.

No Imo state governor without malice against IMSUTH can go to establish another Specialist Hospital in Owerri, while the State University teaching hospital Orlu started 17 years ago remains uncompleted, not fully equipped.

We are biting our tongues over health care in Imo state, if not, in the wealthy and developed world, IMSUTH at Orlu is enough for all the tertiary health care needs of entire population of Imo state. A teaching hospital is not a General hospital.

Duplicating Specialist Hospitals here and there in Owerri by Okorocha govt is aimed to further paralyse and render IMSUTH Orlu redundant, and unofficially relocate IMSUTH to Owerri.

Okorocha seeks to placate Owerri so that Owerri shall not query how his private businesses in Owerri, including Eastern Palm University in his village came to be. That's also behind Okorocha doing nearly all govt development infrastructures in Owerri.

You can see the large number of private hostels and gigantic housing edifices along IMSUTH road Orlu that Okorocha has been suffocating all these years he abandoned IMSUTH.

One thing, if the Old Owerri Road Orlu leading from Owerri through Umuowa-Y junction to IMSUTH was not scrapped and abandoned by Okorocha govt since 2012, if the main road to IMSUTH is rebuilt, the scene of the area IMSUTH is located in Orlu would have been as beautiful, if not more beautiful, than the scenes in New Owerri.

Let Okorocha continue to believe that people are stupid, believe that he is the only smart person.

But here are no roofs yet covering the seats in the Orlu Stadium. The plastic chairs shall pack up before six months if continued to be exposed to weather.
