Debt is repaid by gov revenues. Kenya gov collects more than 20B dollars in revenues. Kenya gov also own many assets. We can sell shares in 15 listed companies and half the debt if we want.

We do have a definite challenge ATM but not a crisis. I saw smth a yr or two ago on the total value of our SOEs. Divesting from the major ones should give us at least 7 bn $ at a conservative valuation. I can't find the source right now.
That's valuable breathing space and we're NOWHERE near as fkd as these mouthy Waffas.

Now it's a race between the 2 as to who defaults first! Damn; you know they'll both go down it's ONLY a matter of time. Whoever falls first will have a domino effect on the other.

I'm focused on the real living conditions of the citizens since that is what indicates the real power of the economy.

What can of life an economy that only connect 50% of it population to electricity in the 21st century provide for it people.?
What kind of life does it provide when 45% of it people sleep in dusty shacks?
What life does it provide when 25% do open defecation?

Ghana debt to GDP is at a lower 68% which is lower than that of Kenya.
Ghana Cedi is a free floating currency which makes it better at insulating the economy especially for a going export dependent economy. The Kenyan economy is a heavily import dependent one with a managed currency which can't has failed at protecting your economy hence the 24 IMF bailout without it, there will be a greater starvation disaster on your hand than you currently have because then Kenyan populis are too lazy to be able to weather that base on pure economic engagement.

Nigeria air force SOF operator

I keep seeing so many "spec ops" pix I must ask some questions:
-is every serving Naij armed forces member a special operator
- EXACTLY which are the SOF units and the spec ops capable units? There's a difference as the latter like the 75th Ranger rgt usually serve to funnel candidates to Delta
- What is the selection criteria for NA spec ops? IIRC, I've seen Naijjans training in Belarus, P'stan and elsewhere referred to as SOF
-Are there charges for wearing wrong unit patches as in most other armies? Could it be some guys are wrongly identifying themselves as SOF?
-Before unloading more SOF pix pls first list the more Elite combat units ie,the various QRFs, paras, NAF combat rescue etc, etc. In most armies these aren't true SOF but spec ops capable units.
Thanks!

Same here, I'm not a fan of the 5.56mm in open-field engagement... , this particular one was made for private securities like cash-in-transit companies, and home/business defence where engagement is at a shorter range.

BUT to be honest, I don't think the guy would want to come across a guy wielding an AK or Norinco during his patrol, it would be an unfair fight.

I asked what happens when 2 properly equipped opposing forces with body armour, LBE and all the ishyt of a national army inf formation blunder into each other;what the military calls a meeting engagement?
One has the 5.56 and the other has the 7.62 NATO.

kikuyu1, ntsa and the other Kenyans: What's the latest on Jane Mugo?
And is the private investigations world in Nairobi still the unregulated wild west?

Was tidying up my documentaries folder and came across this again.

Unregulated as it's in the hands of ex cops who control the biz. Your other question NEEDS some detail.
Early last year at a Naivasha social spot someone pointed her out a nearby table. There was a mutual acquaintance in her circle and I joined them long enough to discover she's a typical Kikuyu woman.
As a Kikuyu I can quickly identify what separates them from say Maasais, Kambas or Somalis. This is often easier than looks as we're a hybrid of EVERYTHING! A pal was once in Fiji and met his uncle's doppelganger; my dad's younger bro has a Cameroonian Fulani twin; I've a long lost Burundian Tutsi bro etc, etc.
- they weaponise their femininity
- are more uptight than others
- money oriented and materialistic, though tbh some say we men are worse and a BA lady identified our shady commercial ways as being due to our Phoenician origin
- their ethics are more situational
- self important to the point of narcissism

Even Oyinbos say the same and on a shady site I once lurked around '09 they were accurately described as "sharks." It's difficult if not impossible to aggregate group behavior using a sole individual but these aren't Normal Human Saffa females like your Swazis , Shangaan, Xhosas and Pondos- someone on another thread said many are gold diggers and I lolled and said "ok."

You're funny. Do you know why Kenya local banks routed big banks like Barclays and Standard. The had been in Africa for 100yrs but only banking 5% of the population. When Nigeria banks went to DRC - you followed the same model. Heck concentrate on Nigeria - you have 100M people there who need banking services.

Now with Equity and KCB in DRC - in 2-3 yrs - everyone in DRC will have a bank account - even if they live in the slums of Kinshasa. They will be give small loans.

This inability to see the obvious is a direct result of the Giant delusion. It's also known as " inattentional blindness."
An interesting study has been done.

Studies have shown that we often fail to perceive things that are “right before our eyes,” a sort of misinformation by omission.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/misinformation-desk/202106/why-we-miss-the-obvious

Anyway, because of this we can safely expect Equity to pioneer banking services in Makoko by 2032!

13 billion dollars is not big at all. I don't blame you because of how small the Kenyan e commerce shopping is. Your man said Kenyan shopping is worth 4 billion dollars, if that is true, then even 13 billion dollars is underperformance for Nigeria. We want to get to 75 billion dollars.

Btw, like MOST of your kind here you talk too much! Constantly ululating about ishyt you don't even understand and couldn't even given 350 yrs and and 3 different child development experts with 50+ yrs of working with developmententally challenged kids.

People who talk too much

https://psychology-spot.com/people-who-talk-too-much/

Logorrhoea: The symptom of a mental disorder
In Psychology there is a word to describe the tendency to talk too much: Logorrhoea. In fact, it is a symptom of some basic psychological problem, usually of manic states, agitation, and anxiety

To the reasonably intelligent forumers here, does any of this look familiar? Apart from the autism, pathological lying and low self esteem?

Pure self-centeredness
People who talk too much do not always suffer from a disorder, sometimes it is simple egocentrism....In reality, it does not even occur to them that their monologue can bore the others. These are people so absorbed in themselves to presume that everything that happens to them is of general interest.

Iow, you're feminine! You assume everyone in the world wants to hear your voice and pay for your dinner. No, nigga! Just. No. But we've seen your feminine traits too MANY times to be surprised.

Yet another south africa company retreat from Africa - minus their shirt.

“Massmart initiated a process over a 12-month period to investigate... the opportunity to sell our East and West African stores to local investors. Unfortunately, this initiative did not deliver a meaningful outcome,” the company said.

Massmart chief executive Mitchell Slape last year said the chain had begun a formal sales process to divest five Game stores in Nigeria, four in Ghana, three in Kenya, one in Uganda, and one in Tanzania.

https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/bd/corporate/companies/south-african-retailer-fails-to-sell-game-stores-opts-to-close-3974166

We've said it here before: Saffas tend to have a rigid top-down approach founded upon wrong assumptions that leads to tears.

However, those who have interacted with South African corporates point out that one of the reasons they have failed to make inroads in Kenya is the fact that they take a domineering outlook in managing their outfits, which does not go down well with Kenyans.
[urlhttps://nation.africa/kenya/life-and-style/smart-company/why-south-african-companies-find-it-tough-in-kenya-538596]

This story is from 2007!?

“Kenyan businesses are very developed in all their systems, procedures and processes than those in markets that the South Africans have conquered like Uganda, Tanzania etc, something that enables them to withstand the South African onslaught,” SBO Training Managing Director Catherine Ngahu says.

We told these guys, IIRC.

There is also the question of a feel-good attitude of South Africa being more advanced than the rest of the continent, making them believe theirs is the best prescription that should go unquestioned. Mr Ncheeri recalls an instance where one of the directors from South Africa called in his office and after an argument retorted. “Sam you must do what you are told. You don’t answer back.”

They'll keep reinforcing failure it seems. At some point competent 3rd party forensic failure analysis must come into play but I wonder.

Its the brutal honest truth.

Our banks are expanding in your country, and they are seeing an increase in ROI.

Nigerian banks probably controls like 3-4% of Kenya banking sector, and that number is going to increase not decrease, we’ve done this before and our banks are known for efficient M&A.

Give it 10 years, 50-60% of Kenya banking sector will be in our hands.

I could ask if you've read about the expansion into the hugely unbanked Ethiopia and the DRC and if you comprehend the implications.
While you screech of comparative ROI seen this:

The report by Moody’s revealed that banks in Kenya’s cost-to-income ratios averaged 49 percent over the last four years, compared with 57 percent for Nigerian banks. Also, Kenya’s three largest rated banks have stronger cost-to-income ratios than their Nigerian counterparts, despite their higher retail overhead costs.

The banks that have been taken into consideration in the comparison report by Moody’s include KCB Bank Kenya, Equity Bank, Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Nigeria’s Access Bank, Zenith Bank and United Bank for Africa.

[urlhttps://internationalfinance.com/kenyan-banks-outperform-nigerian-counterparts//url]

Idk if you've heard of Moody's but they're def not keke operators! They're some of the most respected names in global finance.
Here's a recent source more familiar to Naijjans:

Among banks surveyed in Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria, Kenya’s Equity Bank, with a market capitalisation of $1.53 billion, had the highest ROE of 28.90 percent in H1 2022, while South Africa’s Capitec, with a market cap of $13.01 billion (222.19 billion ZAR), had the second-best ROE of 27 percent.

“Nigerian banks have to deal with economic shocks, short credit cycles and persistent problems in the oil sector. They also have to deal with policy actions, policy uncertainty and regulatory risk,” said Mahin Dissanayake, director for Europe, Middle East and Africa bank ratings at Fitch.

Nigerian banks compared to other markets operate in a volatile environment,” Dissanayake said.

Even if you could understand these facts you'd behave like your Waffas on this thread; which is to say like a pigeon playing chess.

So continue self servicing yourself to sleep fantasising about "Giant" banks dominating us.

Before Nigeria and South Africa wake up - Kenya banks will be running the 80M people DRC - with 95% unbanked population. GOLD MINE.

KCB Group has entered the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) through the acquisition of a majority stake in Trust Merchant Bank (TMB), becoming the second Kenyan lender to enter the populous market as top local banks step up the fight for new customers in the East African region.

KCB said it has entered a definitive agreement with shareholders of TMB with the transaction expected to close in the third quarter of 2022.
https://www.theeastafrican.co.ke/tea/business/kcb-acquires-dr-congo-bank-in-expansion-drive-3901282
“This will see KCB acquire 85 percent of the shares in TMB while the existing shareholders will continue to hold the balance for a period of not less than two years after which KCB will acquire their assets,” said KCB.

“KCB will pay a cash consideration for the shares determined based on the net asset value of TMB at the completion of the proposed transaction, and using a price to book multiple of 1.49.”

TMB is a public company limited by shares and has a strong offering in retail, corporate, and small and medium enterprises.

Once the acquisition of TMB is concluded, it will complement KCB’s regional footprint with an asset base of more than Ksh1.5 trillion ($12.6 billion).

Add Ethiopia that will soon be opening up as they will be desperate to rebuild after mindless civil-war

The deal now means KCB has a presence in eight countries including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan and DRC. It also runs a representative office in Ethiopia.

Imo it's better to fly beneath the Global Elites radar especially for now. The minute they feel you're getting too big for your boots invisible strings are pulled and such bad ishyt happens you think you're bewitched! All kinds of inexplicable currency devaluations, Anglo media hit pieces are printed, mysterious home grown secessionists and terrorists appear, etc, etc.

Many of these stories have ended being debunked as outright false, or just misunderstandings. Begin any evidence you have that such stories occurred.

Rather than spend time with telegram channels and all these other unknown sources which thrive on your desire to know "The real news they are hiding from you", spend more time reading Brookings or Canergie or other policy research institutions around the world that painstakingly research global events from a neutral standpoint.

Internal conflicts happen as a result of the kind of environment that exists there. Terrorism is usually not far from where there are uneducated Radical Islamic fundamentalists/revivalists. West Africa has them in millions. It is simple arithmetic.

SA for example does not have that demographic in any significant number. You'll hardly here about Islamic extremism. However, they have serious inequality problems that is always bound to spring problems in two directions.
Xenophobia - Other blacks are taking our jobs (Caused by hardships and systemic oppression - indirect effect of inequality-)
Riots - We are still under subtle apartheid (direct effect of inequality).
So if I predict a major xenophobic attack or riot in the next two-three years, I'm almost sure to be proven right.

You see why I don't believe those stories churned out from poor/no investigations about France and England sponsoring violence. Remove the root problem first let's see whether these surface problems wouldn't die.

NB: I'm not saying that foreign countries cannot capitalize on some of these problems through funding and misinformation. However with the current world situation, there is no existing reason for France or any western country to support extremists. If you know the amount of money that is being spent in attempts at deradicalizing the Sahel communities, you'll be really shocked. America ranks her threats by a points system I cannot go into right now. IS/BH is currently third or so. Ranked as significant.

I debated whether I should even reply. This info has been in the public domain for a decade!

But since then the situation hasn’t really improved.

“They’ve got maybe 4 000 men in the region, they have all the military and technological resources, so I’m surprised they haven’t been able to eradicate this band of terrorists. We ask ourselves a lot questions: if they really wanted to, they could have beaten them, so do they have another agenda?”

How France lives off Africa with the Colonial Pact

https://panafricanvisions.com/2013/12/france-lives-africa-colonial-pact/

Just before France conceded to African demands for independence in the 1960s, it carefully organised its former colonies (CFA countries) in a system of “compulsory solidarity” which consisted of obliging the 14 African states to put 65% of their foreign currency reserves into the French Treasury, plus another 20% for financial liabilities. This means these 14 African countries only ever have access to 15% of their own money! If they need more they have to borrow their own money from the French at commercial rates! And this has been the case since the 1960s.

Believe it or not it gets worse.

Read the whole thing twice-imagine the opportunity cost of 6 decades of this neocolonial financial f'ery!? Think of the roads, schools and hospitals unbuilt so Jean-Fraude could eat off their colonies. Even by African standards their infrastructure collectively is the worst as the Africa Infrastructure Index shows-WHY??

Leadership (Abuja)
By Muhammad Bello
High level security sources have fingered the Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF), Doctors Without Borders, operating in the North-east, where the organisation's Brussels Operational Centre is currently based in Maiduguri, in an allegation that it is clandestinely involved in fuelling the Boko Haram conflict.

LEADERSHIP Friday findings reveal that the MSF has been refusing to allow the Nigerian Army verify that it was actually distributing food and medicine as it claimed whenever it left Maiduguri into rural areas and did not inform the authorities.

Several hundred people demonstrated peacefully Sunday in the streets of the Nigerien capital Niamey, to protest against the French anti-jihadist force Barkhane, while praising Russia, a journalist from AFP noted.

With cries of "Barkhane out", "Down with France", "Long live Putin and Russia", the demonstrators went through some streets of the capital before holding a meeting in front of the headquarters of the National Assembly.

Some demonstrators carried Russian flags and held up signs hostile to France and Barkhane.

If you think Carnegie endowment for peace or the Brookings Institute will tell you whats up frankly I doubt this convo is for you.

Shma2022:

Of course, it was a lie. In 2019, Kenya's HDI was 0.601. How did it sink from 0.605 to 0.575 if It wasn't for this Nigerian (Adakiko) , who edited that source a few days before being posted here.

SIGHHHH! The price of dealing with people without an iota of code. Everything is ALWAYS a lie. I wouldn't trust Waffas to tell me what day it is!

You're just being obtuse & ignorant.

The reason it's called the east African slave trade is because the traders were east African swahili speakers like tippu tip https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tippu_Tip but the slaves comprised of mostly central Africans & southern Africans who were colonized by the swahili who established trade routes to their colonies.

Even today most Eastern Congolese people still speak swahili due to the effects of the trade & swahili colonization.

Nilo-saharan & afroasiatic regions were generally avoided due to it not being a viable trade.

Yesterday lunchtime I had this very Convo with a pal! His FIL is Congolese and he makes frequent trips there and to WA on biz.
These guys are similar!
- They produce very little of value, even agro products are scant as I'm sure you know
- mainly involved in rent seeking activities like facilitation, brokerage, etc, etc
- fond of quick money deals with no patience for building, manufacturing or production of any kind
- emotionally attached to occult forces, ie voodoo as we've already seen with Waffa Trokosi system
- self esteem issues make them value appearance over everything
Congolese and Waffas, especially Naijjans can be as vain as byatches!

These sociocultural/economic traits are outtakes of Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome we've commented on before.

In other news Ugandan of Commander land forces Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba says it would take him just two weeks to capture Nairobi grin grin

NOTHING new! He's got jokes like his dad. Just before the Somalia op kicked off he ishyttalked the KDF.

Wikileaks: Museveni discredits Kenya army
https://www.monitor.co.ug/uganda/news/national/wikileaks-museveni-discredits-kenya-army-1499718

According to the cable, Mr Museveni described the Kenyan forces as a “career army” and wondered about their ability to sustain bush fighters. “Is Kenya used to fighting like this (bush and guerrilla warfare)? Would Kenya be able to provide logistical support to its Somali allies?”

Like most bullies he overestimates himself while looking down on others. Fyi, he assumes his guerilla warfare tactics used against demoralized undertrained Rwandese, Burundian, Congolese and ex Ugandan army will work against professional militaries.
Btw, his dusty NRA rebels got a monumental arse kicking when they briefly attacked Malaba border town in '87.
As part of the Tutsi plan M7 has ALWAYS wanted a director sea route. His delirious overconfidence led him to try destabilize the Moi gov by sponsoring confused uni kids and he actually attempted military action at Malaba border town late 87.

On 15 December 1987, at least 26 NRA soldiers were killed during an incursion into Kenya, causing the tensions to almost escalate into open war.

That wasn't a KA unit but a police GSU coy that engaged the invaders. It seems Muhoozi has learned the wrong things from his dad's strategic vision- no surprise there!
