Kikuyu1, I see Ruto invited Ramaphosa for the first state visit he's hosting. With Uhuru even attending ANC conferences I was worried that kind of closeness might backfire.

Ruto is a go getter. The ex prez was always lazy and liked whisky too much to be a true performer despite being exposed, educated and smart. WTF is he attending ANC conferences? Btw,any rumours of his sobriety at these conferences?

On Eurobond, since you know so little, let me answer you with this excerpt:
https://www.uxolo.com/articles/7130/Which-African-sovereigns-are-most-likely-to-default
Since you are ignorant about these things, Nigeria's Eurobond repayment is a paltry $2bn while Kenya's is $3bn. You could have gotten into deeper water if you hadn't run to borrow commercial loans this year instead of floating another Eurobond. All the same, it's still not an excellent deal for you.

one of the most outrageous bonds out there must be the $1bn lent to Ghana in 2015 at 10.75% interest with a $400m guarantee from the World Bank.A buyer of the bond in 2015 is already guaranteed to get $1.15bn. And they are still 'owed' $1bn, and $860m of interest payments

The emboldened is the reason enough why I shouldn't engage you. But then again, I doubt if you've ever used an FN-SCAR( special force compact rifle) of any type. That factor alone drives us to a level pegging ground. You have to hit google to dig out information.

Also, the only version abandoned by the US navy seal was the light version of FN-SCAR. This is due to its heavy weight and jamming at some point.

"The U.S. Special Operations Command later canceled their purchase of the SCAR-L and planned to remove the rifle from their inventory by 2013. However, they will continue to purchase the SCAR-H version, and also plan to purchase 5.56 mm conversion kits for the SCAR-H, allowing it to substitute for the SCAR-L ."

Apart from the aforementioned, I agree with the rest of your points.

That's the SCAR H with guys en route to the DRC. It's being inducted with the regulars after being restricted with Airborne and SOF. Everyone loves it! Fyi, they've experience with G3s, M4s, FNs and AKs which says a LOT.

BTW, something you've often lamented: our current exercise is a division-sized one.
Proper division of 12000-15000 pax.

Vuk’uhlome is flagship annual exercise for landward force
What the landward force is calling the “battle of the brigades” is expected to be a highlight of Exercise Vuk’uhlome currently underway at the Combat Training Centre (CTC), Lohathla, Northern Cape.

The exercise – the first at division level in the SA Army since formation in 1994 – is termed the “flagship annual exercise”. Apart from the brigade level component, Vuk’uhlome will see army Regular and Reserve Force elements exercise with support from the SA Air Force (SAAF). According to the SA National Defence Force (SANDF) Directorate Corporate Communication (DCC) the exercise has an intervention phase, followed by peace support operations, the prestigious week (sic) with the brigade battle as centrepiece followed by a career exhibition (at a nearby school) with a community outreach project wrapping up proceeding on 22 November.

“Scenarios depicting typical war scenes will form part of the exercise which will enable the SA Army to measure its state of readiness in terms of discharging its mandate of preparing, providing and sustaining combat ready landward forces for employment by the Chief of the SANDF,” according to an official statement.

“The exercise will be carried out in collaboration with other services and divisions including Special Forces, SAAF, the SA Military Health Service (SAMHS), as well as the Defence Legal Service and Chaplain Service divisions.”

https://www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy/article/3126260/ghanas-bauxite-infrastructure-deal-chinas-sinohydro-faces

Facing a severe infrastructure financing gap estimated at US$30 billion, Ghana two years ago turned to China to help it fund the building of roads, highways and power dams.
The West African nation signed a bauxite-for-infrastructure deal with Chinese state-owned firm Sinohydro Corp in 2018 that would allow the Chinese company to invest about US$2 billion in Ghana’s infrastructure.
In exchange, Ghana would use money earned from the sale of bauxite (the primary ore used to make aluminium), refined bauxite and aluminium to repay the loans. As collateral, Ghana agreed to establish an offshore escrow account for receiving revenues generated from the sale of bauxite.
[/quote

To think I suggested on ToT Gh should go for a MASSIVE century bond, collateralizing their gold and bauxite for a 50 yr bond of min 35 to max 50 bn $ to fix their infrastructure! I was fooled by their facade.

Its called "Carot and Stick" thats how

And you say Somlaia is not our business, but you don't know how it came to be, you dont know where it all started... You dont know how we tried for years to make things work without getting involved inside Somalia, You dont know the burden of hosting over 1 million refugees and then still get sporadically attacked and your people kidnapped... If anyone has to be in Somalia its Kenya. Not Uganda or Ethiopia or Sierra Leonne or Burundi.. By the time Kenya was sending boots on the ground, majority of Kenyan's were like, 'Finally, the government is doing something'
And about the importation of terrorism, lots of Kenyans muslims and converts had already been recruited to fight jihad in Somalia... Its was just a ticking time bomb, had Kenya not invaded Somalia, I'm pretty sure they would have found some other reason to still carry out attacks... I mean the last attack on Hotel Dusit D2, alshabaab claimed it was revenge for Donald trump Moving the US embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem, like what the actual Fvck! We would have still been attacked for bieng a popular tourists destination for western countries...

And BTW, its not charity we are doing, Kenya has great economic and logistical ambition, and a significant part of those ambitions are dependent of the on a strong and peaceful DRC for supply of raw materials, expanded market for goods and services and a conduit for logistics ..

The main thing was to provide protective depth for the LAPSSET project itself a critical trans Africa road bridge-an important part of the Global Belt and Road initiative. People perpetually screech "conspiracy theory!"Why did Al Shabab attack a road building crew in an 80% Muslim zone early this year? Why has AS between active in Lamu since their mass murdering appearance in June 2014? Add up these related issues and the wider picture becomes clear.

According to reports, Nigeria has one of the lowest per capita consumption of cement in the world even as it trailed Ghana, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Egypt, among others, on African continent.

https://leadership.ng/nigeria-needs-n2-1trn-investment-to-meet-local-cement-demands-crash-prices/

Checks reveal that the per capita consumption of cement in Nigeria is about 123kg per person, which is less than two and a half bags of cement, whereas Ghana is about 5 bags per person.

Ruto mass housing now steroid. The last president was too drunk to get it done. PS Charles Hinga was retained. Expect to see two million units built - mass housing apartments. Gov provide free land, zero taxes and free infrastructure like roads/sewage to the site - investor build many units - sell them cheaply - at prize the current tenants can afford to move in - and convert their monthly rent to mortagages. This will see at least mortgages move from 30K to a million.

Was also happy to see Ruto retained Hinga. IIRC, he has experience in a similar project in SA. I'd have been happier if Magoha also stayed in Educated min.

It's not a Kenyan affair it's more of an east African affair almost all east African nations are contributing troops.

1 Battalion Tactical Group (composite of several battalions) KDF.
2 Battalions UPDF.
1 Battalion SSDF
2 Battalion FDNB
RDF along their common border.
Furthermore the success of this mission isn't dependent on who drops more bombs but the outcome of the political process between the warring parties.
Operations like this are multidimensional .

These multi unit ops can be tricky. Who has ULTIMATE operational control? Who far does his mandate reach among the different sub unit commanders?
Ie, if he tells say the UPDF bn commander to block the route of a retreating M 23 group and engage them and he says,"hell no!," what then?
This actually happened in S Sudan 2016. The commander of the peace keepers was Kenyan and ordered the Chinese on scene commander to secure a certain IDP camp in Juba where some female CIA agents had taken shelter amongst the displaced.
Because the US bribed Riek Machar to restart the war to halt China's advance in the oilfields the Chinese commander listened to Beijing ignoring the Kenyan general.
The infuriated Dinkas got their hands on the 5 or so female CIA agents IIRC they all needed extensive psychotherapy and surgery for cervical scarring.

Firstly, I think even Waffas know few of you can afford these tourist places. I could ONLY find 4 yr old stats for Kenya:

The total number of passengers handled increased by 16.8 percent from 10.1 million in 2017 to 11.8 million in 2018. Domestic and international passengers handled increased by 22.5 per cent and 13.1 per cent, respectively, in 2018.
https://www.kcaa.or.ke/about-us/statistics/passenger-traffic

All I could find for you guys is this.

The value for Air transport, passengers carried in Tanzania was 909,564 as of 2020. As the graph below shows, over the past 50 years this indicator reached a maximum value of 1,698,386 in 2018 and a minimum value of 85,700 in 1977.

Here is kenya girl - telling us inflation in Ghana.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsI_2xbiOw8

We admit what is happening in Ghana is not unique. But should it be the Ghanaian Cedi that is rated the worst performing currency in the world? Should it be our economy that is rated junk? The IMF Africa director iterated that Ghana's economic woes are predominantly self inflicted. Before then, I had stated that exogenous factors constituted a mere 25% to the crisis we find ourselves in. The handlers of the economy have totally mismanaged it. Recklessly spending the fiscus even amidst clear signs of imminent collapse. I live in South Africa. Inflation is at 7%. Interest rate is only 8%. In fact, South Africa was the worst hit country when the corona virus pandemic struck. Over 100,000 people died of the pandemic. More curiously, South Africa's membership in the BRICS community makes it even more vulnerable to the current Russian/Ukranean conflict as Russia is South Africa's strongest ally in terms of diplomacy and trade.

Yet another Kenyan referencing the esteemed Dr Hanke! IIRC, I was the first back in 2016-I reiterate, you Waffas should thank us for the free education we provide! Instead you project, abuse us and hide behind make believe BS like elementary school kids: ungrateful b*stards!?

Hanke is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C., a senior fellow at the Independent Institute in Oakland, California, a senior adviser at the Renmin University of China’s International Monetary Research Institute in Beijing, and a special counselor to the Center for Financial Stability in New York. Today, about 80 percent of the village works there because they make much more money there than here.” This is a statement of facts with the management of many industries being headed by a Lebanese or expatriates.

The port is financed by private investors and a consortium of banks who have funded the project with $1.5 billion as of March 2021. The seaport is to occupy up to 90 hectares of land. It is expected to be completed in 2023 and operations to commence in the first half.

Lamu is part of the Global Belt and Road initiative and when ready will have a massive capacity 3x Lekki.

The first three berths of Lamu Port will be able to handle 1.2m teu and will the port is will have the capacity to handle 20m teu when the project fully completed.

If abolishing slavery is one of them, I have to laugh. British empire was the biggest slaving empire in the world and only abolished it after it was no longer economically viable for them. Forced their language, culture, attire, way of life, religion, system of Democracy etc on the rest of the world by colonization, rape, pillaging, genocide etc that saw nearly entire cultures wiped out (Native Americans, Khoisan of South Africa, Australian aboriginal) a massive loss of life.

Also, they have been showing signs of regression since David Cameroon only made worse when they voted to leave the EU due to the limes Xenophobia of scary foreigners "terkin ere jerbs". Thing is, Brexit only stopped European free movement not the droves of illegal immigrants crossing the channel to get into the UK everyday. Since then, the UK has had 3 general elections, Union is at risk of dissolving with Scottland wanting independence, 5 different Prime Ministers soon to be 6 because I doubt the new curry muncher will last long, pound being at its lowest since 1985, energy bills through the roof, etc in a very short time span.

Nonetheless, UK is a has-been and waning power that delusionally thinks it still has a empire.

External debt/reserves
Nigeria looks good - limited exposure to external shocks.
Ghana most vulnerable

Btw, Mzee for you and anyone else in Oyinboland you're now well into Autumn on the way to winter: you know what that means!
In these upside down times ONLY more f'ery and very likely mass trauma unseen since WW2 Europe with the J/Uke thing.
Already the Swiss,Germans and Dutch leaders are advising on limiting showers and stockpiling firewood.

De Volkskrant: Due to rising gas prices, Dutch residents began to buy firewood
https://newsunrolled.com/economy/71104.html

All this greatly affects prices. The publication noted that a cubic meter of wood currently costs 165 euros in the Netherlands, which is 50 euros more than last year’s prices.

The inevitable consequences are terrifying- faced with freezing citizens who they already don't give a rat EFF about your survival as a black foreigner may be definitely problematic.
Pls,organise a contingency plan now! When and if the freeze happens Dutch,Belgian,Swiss and German citizens abandoned by their respective governments will ofc be concerned primarily with their own people. Idk if it'll be a purge type situation;it may very well be- I only know if this path continues there may well be a real life W European Ice Age.

It may be wiser to wait out the war here til Putin wins early next year. Everyone else in WE you've seen or should've seen the leaders of those liberal democracies don't even pretend to give an EFF for THEIR OWN-what about you?
