A40: Juve fans actually called him the Real Phenomenon. Prime Del Piero was no joke. He led Juve to 3 straight CL Finals
You can dispute the length of his peak but Totti never sniffed that 3 season peak.
Totti IMO was mad overrated How can you call totti overrated........ seriously. That Totti is even mentioned in the same sentence as Del Piero despite the disparity in team quality is a testament to how good Totti really was. |

A40: Ehn? Am I reading right! Why won't Totti be the best in a bare team like Roma? Normal big fish in small pond level
Del Piero from 95-98 was arguably Juventus's best player and a Balon D'or candidate. His competition was the likes of Ronaldo
How are you in Balon D'or conversation if your are not the best or most influential player on your team. I'm not understanding Totti was better than Del Piero - the latter was more of a goalscorer and a slightly better dribbler due to agility/change of pace, but Totti was the far better passer and was more instrumental to his side. In the early-mid 00's everything good about Roma went through Totti. For a primarily creative player his scoring record is outstanding, and goals are only one aspect of what Totti offers. |

Should Teams should not be rewarded for hitting the bar ? something like "half a goal for hitting the post" |

In the Norwich vs Chelsea game, the center referee awarded Zouma's goal but VAR ruled it out... No not at all. I think the final decision rests on the Centre referee if he decides to go with VAR decisions or not. |

NinjaMetahuman: Good game. Kovacic was solid.
I missed watching chelsea game where we create a lot chances instead of a lot passes.
I pray mount will be the biggest revelation this season. The boy has been gaining serious confidence and XP.
The defence though, Very awful!! I can't wait to have rudiger back. Hopefully he will contribute something to this lousy defence.
Oh yeah, pulisic needs to hit the gym. Too frail for premierleague -_- Our defense is shit. They haven't figured out the zones and general Rudiger is needed. Attack wise not too bad. Decently organised with a lot of freedom but the defense needed an improvement. Felt like Norwich could walk the ball through the defence it they just took the right path between the lines. |

I thought we'd struggle for goals since we lost hazard but we've been creating loads of chances but we just haven't been clinical in putting them away. Wasn't too much different Yesterday My boy pulisic really should have scored but glad Tammy put his goals away, should do a world for his confidence. My biggest concern right now is how we're looking really bad defensively and look like conceding every time the other team counter when we lose the ball. The problem has been there since pre season and we've seen no improvement.Really hope that's fixed by lampard |

muyiwaadekunle1: The court ordered the club to pay in May but they are yet to. Read through Daily mail & Sky Sports news, that's where you'll get authentic news. Here is an Extract. Antonio Conte is taking further legal action against Chelsea despite having already been awarded £9 million in a breach of contract claim against his former employers earlier this summer. The Times has learned that Conte was the claimant in a preliminary hearing held at the Central London Employment Tribunal last Friday as the bitter row between the two parties continues 13 months after the manager left Stamford Bridge. Conte was the victor at a private manager’s tribunal convened by the Premier League in April, with a three-person panel ruling that Chelsea should pay him one year’s salary in compensation after failing to agree a severance package following his sacking in 2018, but while that matter is settled the Italian has brought another case against his old club. Conte did not attend last week’s hearing at which he was represented by Phil Bonner of Centrefield LLP as he is preparing for the start of the Serie A season with Inter Milan. The 50-year-old had a year off after being sacked by Chelsea before being appointed at the San Siro this summer. Conte’s award of £9m took the figure that Chelsea have paid out to sacked managers to £92.3m since Roman Abramovich’s takeover 16 years ago. The club have the right to appeal against the tribunal’s verdict by taking their case to the High Court, but have yet to indicate that they plan to do so. |

gensteejay: Can you now tell us the import of PFA Award, since you know better than its organizers and millions of voters?
The pedigree of accolades earned by a footballer, , which is PFA Award in this case, is a key factor for determining the quality of the player. Ok let me ask you a question between a one season wonder who won the award once then became useless and another player was consistent for 6 to 7 years but never won the award who is better? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Kimbeast: 11:22am On Aug 22, 2019 |
Segedinho: PFA defines ur importance in a given season KDB could be better than Hazard in a given season but kante better than everyone in same season n the accolades given to him.
PFA shows hazard was one time the best player in his career whereas KDB hasn't in its EPL lifetime.
Debating a better player is not tied to PFA alone... PFA shows Kante was one time the best player in his career where as lampard and scholes where never once in their EPL lifetime The quality of a player is not determined by winning the PFA Award. |

So if Lampard and scholes who where outstanding players and regarded as top5 in their position in the league despite not winning the PFA award why can't that apply to De bruyne and why is not winning the award used against him when talking about his quality as a player? Nice one |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Kimbeast: 12:03am On Aug 22, 2019 |
Ibime: Surprised to read here that Vardy won PFA PPOTY award. Vardy never won it, Mahrez did. It could equally have gone to Kante or Vardy and not many would argue.
PFA is often a toss up between 3 or 4 players, usually from the Champions and any of them could win it.
In all my time watching English football, the only undisputed PFA winners are Henry, Ronaldo, Bale, RVP, Suarez and Salah. These are guys who won it "hands down" with World Class seasons. Every other win has been debatable. ]Winning PFA is not a differentiator when comparing players except for the names above. Aren't you under estimating Yaya toure season when talking about Suarez being undisputed? Dont you think 20league goals from midfield is pfa worthy. |

gensteejay: Lol. It's useless to use individual honors to rate players?
What are you saying?! Of what use are the awards then if they are not relevant to this sort of discussion? It is useless to say hazard is a superior player to de bruyne because he has won the PFA award and bruyne has not. The same rubbish can be used regarding aguero and vardy. |

gensteejay: This is quite non sequitur to all we pro-Hazard commenters have said.
Wining multiple awards is a pointer to a player's ability and popularity.
Skilled players are always very popular and Hazard isn't an exception. Nigga the argument was kdb and hazard who is the better player or has more vision/creativity. Using PFA award is useless to the argument before a mad man jumped into my mentions. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Kimbeast: 7:32pm On Aug 20, 2019 |
airmark: The person you quoted said Hazard was the best in the league more than once, you had to lie that Lampard never won the award once, to defend what's not defensible.
Your next move was to name one player who peaked late in his career after working as a factory worker, to rubbish the award. Nice try.
Oga, stop making lot of noise, let KDB win it once, then we can bring him close to his bosses, that had bossed the league more than once. You always make lot of noise with little substance. No wonder you are always ridiculed on this forum. How does winning an award adds to the ability or quality of a player? The fact that aguero a world class striker never won the award and an average dunce like vardy did shows using the award to brag about who is a superior player is stupidity from your part and members of your cult. |
