Its cos whatever you say naruto whines about is what drives him to victory and since these badasses' own doctrine couldn't bring them victory, what's the essence of stayng true to that doctrine?

raficki87: this is where you get it wrong cuz he developed th MS after he killed the whole clan..... and its safe to say he must have encountered sumbody with MS..... but for me sha pein vs itachi is gonna be a tough call.... the battle enviroment/circumstace would determine the winner. also ero sennin lost against pein becauz he didnt knw anything abt his powers...thats why naruto was successful... and i belive itachi wud with such information... ninjutsu and taijutsu cant work on pein. susanooo ultimate attack and defence........guy u cant decide this match if we are truthful to ourselves.....!!!!

Ihedinobi: Una de yarn dust! How much of Itachi did we see in the series? We saw his fight with Sasuke. We saw a small encounter with Kakashi. We saw a battle with Kabutomaru. What else? We know of his fights and fighting skill but have we seen as much of him as even Minato? We've probably even seen more of Tobirama than we have seen of him.

His fight with Sasuke was deliberately rigged. He meant to die in that fight. He was sick and he didn't put out his full strength. He just wanted to activate his kid brother's mangekyou, I think. So the best we can get from there is that what power he displayed was a fraction of his full ordinary power.

With Kakashi, he was not a true enemy. He was a Leaf Shinobi pretending to be a criminal. So he couldn't have gone all out to kill Kakashi even though Kakashi might have done so to kill him.

With Kabutomaru, he could afford to be careless because he was an ET. If he got hurt he'd regenerate. So he only focused on technique and power and attack not necessarily defence. At most, that fight would show us his resourcefulness, skill and powrr of attack but it will only suggest his cunning and sense of self-preservation to us because he couldn't be killed as an ET.

With Nagato, he didn't fight alone so we only have a guess at what he could do by himself. When you fight as part of a group, you streamline yourself, you don't go all out so that you don't hurt your friends or get in their way unless you have a good battle structure that mitigates that risk. So we'd get an idea of how well he can use other people's skill and power to beat an opponent there but not much about what he would do if he didn't have help.

- amaterasu
- tsukuyomi
- susano'o
- totsuka blade
- katon no jutsu
- izanami
- solid taijitsu

What else? But this guy took out one of the most powerful clans with just one other guy. Is it not within reason to suspect there's more especially as we saw one of these skills only after he was ET'd?

I think he'll do some serious damage against Pein. But I don't think I'd bet on a win or loss. Either is possible as far as I can see.
