journerman:Well said. |
CSTR2:I agree But I don't think the president is really committed to putting an end to this menace. His integrity as a Ex-military is already tainted because we expected a swift and forceful response from him and his administration to this boko crisis, but to say i am disappointed would be being kind. |
anonimi:Sad but true. |
It's about time Nigerian presidents stop hiding behind Press Statements. There should be weekly dialogue where reps of News stations can directly ask the president questions, and this should be televised. This way it will be difficult to conceal the intentions behind a response. |
How is it possible that the BH group are still rampaging unchallenged, even after the military forces were relocated to the north? I'm looking forward to the president's response to these happenings. |
He's only been in office less than 40 days, and already committing to a new loan?? What the heck is going on? |
Op, have you considered becoming a motivational speaker? You'd be good at it. |
This is educative! I hope to see more posts like this on nairaland. |
I'm not a big Obama fan but this is typical, a very shameless african trying to pull down the one successful guy in the family. |
plaetton:I agree with the highlighted |
I hope our lawmakers will follow through with Gbajabiamila's suggestion, and protect the future generation from debt-slavery and our thieving government by doing what is right for once. This is a chance for us to know which of these lawmakers really have Nigeria’s interest at heart. |
Some of us born into cultures of ignorance are forced by flipping nosy relatives to adopt the right hand as the default hand, but we never really lose those abilities of a lefty. Here’s a short list of some notable lefties: Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Bill Gates, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander the Great, Thomas Jefferson, Oprah Winfrey, Robert DeNiro, Celine Dion, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, David Cameron, Gandhi, Aristotle, Mozart, Beethoven, John D Rockefeller, Keanu Reeves, Petr Cech, Pele, Maradona, Romario, Phil Mickelson, and of course Raji Fashola |
Just because some people had the opportunity to travel outside of Nigeria, they begin to act amnesic about how things are back home. Seun keep up the good work, you’ll surely get there. |
This is very sad. I can’t believe some people here are actually trying to justify the teacher’s action.. This is absurd, and I hope state governments across the country can look into such indiscipline by the school staff. |
Βουκέφαλος, can you please send the video to me at tomdtat@gmail.com Thanks. |
Fresh dude, can you please e-mail me a copy of the documentary. I just sent you an e-mail. Thanks in advance. |
This video was very enlightening. I have been having this yearning of late to learn more about the history of Nigeria, and then i came across this. It is amazing how fela was able to view things from a perspective that seem to challenge people's flaccid acceptance of the status quo. It was also interesting to read U.S documents about events and predictions throughout the history of Nigeria. OP, thanks for uploading this video, and great job done by the creator of this documentary. I hope we will begin to see similar informative posts such as this. And yes, it's amazing how the standard of spoken english by our leaders and representatives appear to have deteriorated over the years. |
I'm more interested in intelligent eloquent witty debaters, hence the choice of "katsumoto". |
"Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ambassador Dauda Danladi, made this known to The PUNCH on Wednesday at the sideline of the ongoing D-8 summit in Islamabad, Pakistan." This is bad news regardless of which angle you choose to view it from. I wonder how these so called "high commisioners" are elected to represent a multi-religious country like Nigeria, and then make such partisan decisions that are unpopular with the people they're supposed to represent. From the responses i have read so far, it is obvious that this is an unpopular decision, so it would be best for them to hold off on this plan. Let's see how nigerian law makers react to this news. |
And russia is ranked next to syria? What a bs list. |
InvertedHammer: Poor guys are always nice because poverty erodes self-esteem. It is a trade off.Very true, you couldn't have said it better. |
Sisi_Kill: No by trying to make money by breaking the law. SMDH!!!Since you've never broken a law, i expect you to keep it that way and pray you never do. |
oyb: nigerians - always doing the wrong thing and then trying to appeal to sentimentYou mean like trying to survive by working for a living ? SMH |
just avoid dating a brainless woman and you'll have nothing to worry about. |
I can't believe someone from a country where people's deeds are second only to the devil himself/herself can call someone else an anti christ. |
I don't see why Nigeria shouldn't disintegrate into seperate sovereign states, then we can stop all this noise about sovereignty and actually get to the job of nation building for each sovereign entity. I am really tired of hearing all this attention seeking noise about being held back by nigeria. I think it's high time nigeria separates, so that people can actually begin to "walk the walk" and not just "talk the talk". |
There are too many misguided assumptions in this post. |
1) When the woman of your dreams falls in love with you 2) When your child first calls you "Dada" 3) When you finally become successful and visit the neighborhood of your humble beginnings (brings back so many memories) 4) When you solve peoples problems and bring smiles to their faces 5) When you get that reassuring feeling that everything will be ok. |
If you love soul music, you'll choose Sade over adele any day anytime. |
I can see where you're coming from OP, but the truth is that the spiritual governs the physical (that, my friend is a fact). The only problem i see is when wicked people with evil motives seek spiritual assistance. You can be rest assured that whatever spiritual assistance such a person receives is not coming from the good spiritual forces, and these sort of people are the majority in our society. Generally i see no harm in seeking spiritual guidance (not fetish sacrifices and all the voodoo crap) when a situation gets too tough beyond one's control, so long as your heart/conscience is clear and you have thoroughly assessed and know the core values of whichever spiritual leader you choose to get counselling from. |
Only if the house is on fire should anyone be woken from their deep sleep, because i find it almost impossible to go back to sleep afterwards. |
one thing today that there is a blood covenant that is share during sex WTH Can you please elaborate, and show that you are not just making up something that isn't even feasible in the least. I thought a blood covenant ought to involve conscious action by both parties to willing use blood as a symbol of promise. |
