Except for the lack of equipment but the excuse of time not being on their side is not acceptable.

How can the doctor rush to theater without right diagnosis because of time? Stabilizing the patient would give him time to quickly get those tests done.

Severe lower / right lower abdominal pain in a female should alert the doctor of common differentials.

The tests I mentioned are simple and basic ones which can be performed in local hospital.

Good history, examination and appropriate investigation should have exposed the girl's lie and saved her life.

Asking her for her last menstruation date, urgent PT, urgent PCV and abdominopelvic ultrasound scan should have saved that girl.

That doctor should have taken his time to ensure the basic things were done.

In saner climes, that doctor risk losing his licence for negligence of duty. He ought to carry out appropriate medical test and not rely on the patient's account. A doctor should diagnose ailment before proceeding with any treatment and not rely on patients account of symptoms. He really have a lot to answer.

He is right joor, we Yorubas are good people that respect every other tribe in Nigeria. Am sure if it were a Yoruba man or woman in the SE that did this they won't even look @ her twice and show appreciation because of bigotry.

In the case of Chukwuemeka Ezeuko (Rev. King), the group argued that he is being persecuted in Nigeria because he is an Igboman.

Shame! Am sure most of the worshippers killed and tortured by Rev. King are Igbos. Yet, they want him released despite the fact that a competent court has found him guilty of murder simply because he's an Igbo man that is hated by other Nigerians. Seriously, this massob guys should stop this joke abeg. Was it other Igbo hating tribes in Nigeria that asked him to commit murder?

What me I want to say is that the igbos we not see this act of Lagos State government commending an Igbo lady for a good act she did to a fellow Igbo man who failed to appreciate nor compensate her, but when the State government repatriate some Igbos for misconduct in the State they will begin to make noise of the State government persecuting the Igbos.

Naija sha! I believe the continous reward this lady is receiving is an overkill. Why reward someone for doing what she was supposed to do in the first instance? Was she meant to keep the money ? How are we sure she didn't turn in the money because there was a CCTV around and she had no other option? Is this what the lawmakers were elected to do? Oshi o daa nilee pako !!!

My dear the law need not make sense. I just stated the law, its up to the op and other readers to seek legal advise if they are in doubt.

The law is clear in this area, payment of bride price is prerequisite for a valid marriage under native law and custom in Nigeria.

Let me depart a bit and like I always advise clients, there are lots of marriages in Nigeria that will fail this test and I believe they may be invalid. The implication of this is better imagined than to be experience. The validity of a marriage extends to inheritance of properties after the death of a partner. If a marriage is decleared invalid, the surviving partner gets nothing.

So there's the need to follow the custom stricto sensu. All customs in Nigeria require the payment of bride price and it must be paid for there to be a valid marriage under native law and custom. This custom has not changed overtime and just in case it has, there is no judicial notice of this as being of acceptable usage.

Make sure you pay the dowry/bride price because that is what makes your union legal under Nigerian customary law. Do not do without the bride price.

Also the bride price consideration should be monetary so it can be returned to the family if you no longer want to continue in the marriage. This is the only way to end a marriage under native law and custom.

The issue of nig marriage is nt d bride price but d list given to u.am of d yoruba decent,bride price is usually 5k to 10k wc wil b return bak to u.d amount is immaterial compare to d list worth thousands of naira.
