I don't feel happy coming over here in the public to share my personal pain, but I have come to a breaking point and I feel like giving up and committing suicide.

I'm in my early 30's, first and the only child of my parents who got separated and married another persons. My dad is late though; I didn't experience his care while he was alive, hence I was more like an outcast. I've slept in church premises with malaria being the order of the day because of mosquitoes. Regardless, I've been struggling to make a living. To worsen the whole matter, the only girl I hold so dear to my heart to offer me emotional support bailed out on me (painful, but that is the least of my worries).

At my age, I still squat with someone and trying to survive. You might ask: don't i have family or friends? My mum and siblings who are my only family look up to me for financial support, and I only have very small circle of friends who even ask me for help. So, i'm like a one-man mopol with no one to turn to for help. To feed is a challenge for me now. I feel like giving up on life because I feel so hopeless.

My greatest desire in life has always been to help the less privileged as a philanthropist, but it's just so unfortunate and painful that I'm still struggling myself.

I'm not here to beg for money, because I'm someone who likes to be independent and doesn't like to be a liability to anyone. I'm a creative person with business ideas and skills, but things I've not been easy for me. I need connections because I have value to offer; I don't want to be a liability to anyone. Please, help me my fellow Nairalanders.

Sometimes i wonder why people dont care about Inheritance until it gets taken from you by your father's siblings

First and foremost, dont allow any of your father's siblings know where documents of properties are kept.

Second, dont get too comfortable with family members.

Thirdly, protect your father's property like it is yours, it will be your inheritance at the end of the day, it will also secure you and your family future.


Find proof of ownership and other documents, go take what is yours.

Leverage is everything, if you get the document, she can't claim any property.
