Argentina captain Lionel Messi will not play against the Super Eagles when both sides clash in an international friendly on November 14.

However, Messi will play the friendly against Russia on November 11 at the reopening of the Luzhnikí stadium in Moscow.

Argentina coaching crew, headed by Jorge Sampaoli, will allow the striker fly out of Moscow after the first friendly, to get enough time to rest before returning to club duties.

The rest of the Argentina squad will head to Krasnodar, where they will play against Nigeria on November 14.

This same scenario happened in the Albiceleste's last international friendlies against Brazil (June 9) and Singapore (June 13), when Messi went the distance against the Seleção but was omitted from the matchday squad against the Asians.

The Norwegian league is ranked no 27 much below Azerbaijan and Cyprus. He plays for Sogndol Fc which is in the relegation zone, third to the bottom.

His contract is owned by Manchester city which means nothing in the context of quality. Has not even played for the academy. In reality when city ship you out to Norway and to a team third from bottom, you are simply not rated and just an investment gone sour.

To be a RB in the Norwegian league and to be considered quality you should be one of the 3 best RB's in the league. Mold and Rosenburg have shown some quality. But way off top European quality.

Finally, I am bewildered on what basis I am certain that we have far better prospects across far far better leagues in Europe. Who have shown quality and potential in league's with a far higher standard of quality and competitiveness. It seems brother Egunje has come through the back door.

And by the way, am I the only one who thinks that this Argentine friendly isn't such a great idea at this time? Right now, I think we should be playing only the friendlies that we're most likely to win, so we can accumulate as much FIFA ranking points as we could before the final world cup draws are made. If that's the case then matches against the likes of Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Belgium, Spain, France, etc. ought to come later in our preparations - after the final draws are made.

so as it stands now, the friendly isn't going to affect the ranking to be used for the draws unless you're talking about Qatar 2022
