My Toyota Camry 2001 (Envelope) has been of late having issues.

I've personally scanned it with my scanner and my Mechanic has done all he thinks and there's no solution in sight yet.

When I start the car it works fine for a moment and afterwards the whole system changes and the car (RPM) drops to almost zero and shaky.

I've changed the Air Mass Sensor,Fuel pump, injector Nozzles, Serviced the injector system.

Now the engine temperature rises in a very short while and produces black smoke from the exhaust.

Please Help a Brother.

The LTFT readings are normal but the STFT reading aren't normal. A normal reading fuel trim reading should be between -10 to +10. Nothing above nothing below.

I don't think the first gen of Acura Tsx use a MAF sensor, I've confirmed online and checked around the intake hose where MAF sensor are usually connected, nothing. Instead i have one sensor that I don't know the name

As for 02 sensor, i first got a toks downstream sensor, when i didn't see any results, i order both up stream and downstream o2 sensor from china and fixed myself .. it's been like 3 months now


I know I'm not supposed to expect the exact factor rated mpg on the car cos lf it's age. But in my case it's just absurd. I'm getting less than or almost half of the rated fuel efficiency.
I've spoken to other people using my same model car and driven some, they have far better fuel efficiency than mine.
This car share same 2.4l engine as the EOD and crv. Those cars have good fuel efficiency

Get factory OEM sensors or tokumbo. Chinese sensors or generic sensors most times do NOT work 98% of thr time.

Scanning with a scan tool threw up 2 codes under the A/T section.
-45-01 Shift Malfunction.
- 41-01 Incorrect Gear Ratio.

How do I fix this? I won't mind any mechanic recommendations here on Lagos mainland that can work on it.

Replace transmission.

AT light on your dash is an automatic transmission warning light. It shows your transmission has developed a fault, is overheating or low on transmission fluid. Have it scanned and also check the state of transmission fluid ASAP. It requires very urgent attention.

Pls ignore those talking about mileage/odometer roll back, it isn't necessary at this point in this car's health.

At 203k mileage,thats if it wasnt rolled back using a gadget from sharp scam practice by naija dealers. Well its a miracle the engine is still running. AT. To me is automatoc transmission(check the sensors,valve body etc. Seems its either low on fluid,fluid is almost dried out ,loose bolts from valve body,etc,or its leaking and almost dried out. Check your transmission oil,while gear is on Drive and handbrake is on. Guage it first.

Hello Gurus in the house, please I need your help with my brothers 2011 Lexus ES350
Vehicle looses power while in motion.
Car has been scanned and it showed an error relating to the throttle pedal.
Throttle pedal was changed, yet issue persists.

Issue:
Vehicle looses power while in motion but engine is still running, just doesn't rev.
Sometimes when you want to overtake, pedal doesn't respond to acceleration.
While in motion, even when the gear is pushed to neutral, pressing the throttle, car doesn't rev then suddenly, it picks again

Things Done:
Fuel pump and filter checked and changed
Throttle pedal changed
Throttle body (Ejector mouth) changed
Plugs and nozzles checked, all fine.

What the possible cause of the issue?

Did they scan this car before all these add and drop error?
