When I asked a young security man where I work why he's wasting his life away on a 49k salary, he said he hasn't seen anything else to do. I just shook my head.

I mean, you have off days every week. You can't look for an electrician or barber to attach to for 6 months, learn the ropes and start earning additional income before you find your feet? You can never go wrong acquiring skills. The skills I acquired during my service year still fetches me extra income till this day.

If to say na old men that just need something to keep them busy i'll understand but not young guys

That’s why it’s always wise to settle them even before getting to station and seeing shege.

They know if U’ve had police wahala before and have slept inside any of their horrid cell, u will have sense and use diplomacy when talking/dealing with them.

The day I slept cell was the day I propounded a theory that : If u have any issue with Nigerian police, make sure u settle it with them in whatever way possible before u get taken to the station…… It doesn’t matter whether u are on ur right or wrong , just settle with them and move on. U don’t need to stop driving cos of them particularly when the ENDARS issue has made them reduce their illegal arrests . Now it’s just regular police doing regular stop and search .

The trick is just to carry ur vehicle papers complete , a verifiable means of ID and speak to them with composure while dressing responsibly . I no dey get issue with them at all.
