SmartPolician: Tinubu doesn't have what it takes to end poverty. He's more interested in taking from ordinary Nigerians with taxes, taxes and taxes. If taxation is the only value accountants bring to the leadership circus, Nigerians should stop electing them. As far as Nigeria is concerned at the moment, lawyers make the best leaders. Is the problem of Nigeria the profession or qualifications of the leader or lack of vision, sincerity of purpose & incompetent leadership. The basic problem is the politico-economic structure of the federation with ethno-religious sentiments. The leadership selection processes is flawed with electoral malpractices & money politics. There is bad governance, corruption, nepotism & empowerment of political allies. El-Rufai is just a bad loser. After 8 years as a governor, he couldn't improve the quality of life of his people, promoted ethno-religious tensions & even empowered illegal aliens. Even though his analysis of the economic situation is correction, he doesn't have much to offer to reverse the situation. |

Nonexisting1: We have a C in C who swore to protect lives of Nigerians. Call him out like you all called out Goodluck and shun tribalism for once. They claimed then that Boko Haram members were their brothers & children & that GEJ was killing their people. The chicken has come home to roast. Even Israel with all it's sophisticated weapons have not decimated Hamas in Gaza. There's need to de-escalated the role of ethno-religious politics in National activities. The parasitic economic privileges is another factor. If each region generates its Revenue, the rubbish will cease. For now, people are cashing out from the crisis through various means. And the way it's, insurgency will not end very soon. |

Nasir-El Rufai is a big fish in Northern Nigeria take it or leave it.
I doubt if there is anyone in the entire North with three seperate academic qualifications spanning Quantity Survey, Business Management & Law with Fourty (40) certifications from Harvard alone.
The dude knows exactly what he wants and even the Vice President Kashim Shettima "warned" that he cannot be underrated.
El-Rufai giving them wotowoto. He's a very intelligent chap, but now a political liability to the ruling party. He's better off as an attack dog for the ADC. 2027 will be very interesting if the citizens votes will count. |

Which indeed is a big shame! Some of them have been killed. It's possible some were buried in rubbles following bomb strikes. I believe Hamas miscalculated when they launched the attack on the Israel. The Israelis will not stop until Hamas is decimated & the Palestinians driven out of Gaza. The best way to checkmate an enemy is to create a barrier zone. |

OLADD: This is the first time in a very long time that I find myself commending statements issued by any APC stalwart, not necessarily for saying the truth (because I know he was telling a conscious lie) but for being diplomatic and not towing the path of recklessness in issuing a definite statement on zoning as PDP did.
Even if the intent was to assuage the south for any assumed mistake made on zoning in the past, PDP should have exercised some caution and restraint in issuing close-ended statement It's a decision that will definitely hurt the party in future. Posterity is close by. So what's the point selling nomination forms if you've already endorsed PBAT, to generate money isn't it. We're not serious people. We believe in mediocrity, incompetence & boot licking. All is not well with our politics. |

Tinubu and Wike don't mind fund PDP campaign just to achieve their aim. Is Wike's vote enough to elect a President. Is Nigerians that'll elect a President. All that's need is electoral reforms, free & credible elections. As long as the plan is based on elections rigging, vote buying, electoral manipulations, judiciary interference etc., there's no hope for this country. |

9jatriot: This is what I wrote sometime ago, Obi wants to play a fast one on Atiku by exploiting Atiku's exit from the PDP by going back to PDP, since it has a better structure.
GEJ will continue to hope that he can go back to Aso Rock, if you remember that when he thought he was consesus candidate that APC will handover the ticket to, he was salivating then, so this is a good chance for him and I believe he will not mind exploiting it also but he has to be sure that he will get it because it will be humiliating if he goes into a primary and loses. Why will GEJ be afraid of losing primaries. The position has been zoned to the South & before contesting, the odds would've favoured him. |

Kukutente23: I know all that. What I'm pointing out is the level of wages and fees in football at that time. If the most expensive player could be just £10.5m, that tells you that football fees and wages were not as humongous in volume as we have them now. A situation where a player is bought for cheap or free and paid huge sums occurs when a players is almost at the end of his contract. His wages at his previous club will determine how much he's earning in the new club. But in a situation where a player has substantial number of years, his wages will directly affect the transfer fees You've a point. Some Nigerian footballers in the desperation to play abroad signed ridiculous contracts that enslaved them. A lot of the retired players are not doing well & some were bankrupt. In England professional players have a contributory pension fund which manages players funds & pay them wages on retirement. |

Putindbutt: I don't know why we have a short memory or selective amnesia in this country. In 2022, Buhari signed the PIB into law, the law became effective. Under the PIB, fuel subsidy is no longer backed by the law, it becomes unlawful. And due to this fact, Buhari did not make provision for fuel subsidy in the 2023 budget, hence, why Tinubu said subsidy is gone. The subsidy at the time was only provided for a six month period which was supposed to expire in June 2023. As a matter of fact, Tinubu still continued with subsidy till the end of 2023 - mid 2024 due to high exchange rate after the naira was floated. Right now, subsidy is effectively over and the oil sector is effectively decentralized boosting investors confidence in the market to invest and maximize profits. Yea, it's disappointing that a former NLC President is ignorant of these issues. Nigerians are used to paying tributes to the death which is understandable. |

The fact that his terminal care was in London where he finally died is not good. It reflects a decay in our country's healthcare systems. State creation is not the solution to the economic problems of a group of people. Most of the present states are not economically viable. The proposed state is not economically viable but an avenue for a group to attain political dominance & oppress others.
The country needs creative & resourceful people that can create wealth & enhance productivity. Not politicians that're interest in resource allocations. |

bigdammyj: Noted.
Lauretta Onochie, former Special Assistant (SA) to former President Muhammadu Buhari, has claimed that Nigeria’s incumbent President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, did not support Buhari’s emergence as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2014. This lady doesn't have enough information on this issue. Without PBAT's ACN alliance with PMB's CPC, PMB wouldn't have been President. After declaring that the baboons & dogs will soak in blood, he had retired to fate after losing the 2011 general elections. PBAT is now President but he can't escape from karma. His selfish political ambitions made him to bring a man who'd now idea how a democratically governed Nation operates. He failed woefully & instead of PBAT to make amends, he worsened the situation. Even though they claimed GEJ was incompetent before the 2015 elections, he's more educated, had a better understanding of the economy, not a tribal or religious bigot & was not desperate nor egocentric like his successors. Presently, Nigeria is a failed State with increasing insecurity, insurgency & banditry. There's food insecurity, high cost of fuel, electricity, transportation & medicare. No government is ready to build on the successes of the other. Each initiates new projects with foreign debts without improving the economy to enable easily repayments. I believe the country is like this because the people are docile & impoverished. Civil activists need to realize that Nigerian's are at the mercy of political merchants what're ready to bleed the country to death in order to cart away the people's treasury. This is the time to call for electoral reforms to ensure credible & fair elections. The recently formed Coalition will not take us to anyway. The same people that brought PMB have gathered again. We need to be wise this time around. |

His political sagacity is commendable but he may not achieve much politically again. He can't be moving from one party to the other & expects Nigerians to take him seriously. What we need is licence to own assault rifles after being certified mentally fit by a doctor & the weapon duly registered to avoid misuse. This is what deters crime abroad & makes criminals to think twice before going out for an operation. Villagers are easily ransacked by gunmen because the villagers are not armed & defenceless. The issue of state creation is a stale matter. We should stop the idea of creating states to ensure easy sharing of the national cake but we should start thinking of enhancing productivity & nation building. What is needed is more of ensuring security to enable farming which is the main occupation of the people of the area. The area has vast & fertile lands if well harnessed can provide employment, income & food security for millions of Nigerians. |
