The government is not a serious one. They're there to take care of themselves & punish the people. If things are that difficult, they should declare austerity measures & reduce cost of governance. They cannot be living big & want Nigerians to starve to death just for them to survive.
Unless they change their modus operandi, they may not end well. |

Simeonee111: States challenging this is a good course, for a nation like Nigeria, the fact that a body like ICPC of EFCC which are under control of the presidency and higher powers can investigate anyone they have interest in, is of great concern. If you're not politically aligned, they can send them after you. Look at the likes of tinubu himself, akapbio, orji uzor kalu who were once efcc customers ruling us today. Decentralizing power is what's best for us Yea, not just scrapping the power of the EFCC etc. but let's practice fiscal federalism. Each State can decide how they want their funds spent. This ongoing pilfering of funds is because they don't contribute much to get monthly allocations. |

Bobby4090: He never said anything like Wike is replaced. He doesn't have that authority. And the NWC can't be led by a legal adviser. Where is the NWC acting chairman or Secretary? Why were they not part of the meeting. And besides, there is no official position called 'party Leader' in the constitution. Leadership is all about how highly the local population hold you in high esteem. This is a battle PDP cannot win against Wike. The only way the can win is by suspending him. There is no way Wike will be in PDP and Fubara, his boy will be party leader. The more scared they are in having Wike suspended the more difficult it will be to handle him. You've a point. Until there's internal democracy & members fund parties collectively, our democracy will not develop. Why do they insist the governors should be leaders of the party at the State level? To inject state funds for party activities. Is that how's done in saner climes? That's why they struggle to hijack party structures here instead of concentrating on providing good governance for the benefit of the people. |

hoygift: In critical situations Private Hospitals will pay proper attention to their patient than Teaching hospitals be it Federal or State. For instance, If you are on emergency situation the patient's relative will have to buy card or pay for file before being attended to by a doctor. Despite the pain and loss of fluids nobody will give out common first aid until the card has been bought then wait till the Doctor arrives from his own Private Hospital. It's all troublesome to know that if you get hit by a vehicle in the current state of Nigeria, you might leave this big blue marble. You've a point. Also the condition of the patient at the time of admission is also important. Some cerebrovascular accidents are associated with poor prognosis due to extensive brain infarcts. Despite spending a lot of money, recovery may be slow & poor. Some conditions are best prevented than managed. However, despite the initial evaluation, even if patient is moribund, he desires the best care & attention from healthcare providers. |

Peter Obi is right. The cost of governance is quite exorbitant for a LMIC country like ours. And unsurprisingly, our leaders are not bothered. Resources are wasted for contingencies, unnecessary logistic & entertainment instead of investments in critical sectors that can boost productivity, industry, creativity, food sufficiency and security. 2027 is not far. We need to plan ahead, if we must survive as a Nation. |

May God grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. May his benefits be released timely to the family & may the goodwill he showed to others attract favours & blessings to his family. The Nigerian Navy should immortalize him to serve as a reference to motivate other officers.
May God grant his soul eternal rest. Amen! |

This is quite retrogressive in this day and age of advanced technology.
I left secondary school at age 15, almost 3 decades ago. Qualified through JAMB at age 16, and it has been a great ride of life afterwards.
Presently, the average age to sit for WAEC/NECO for 6 sets of students in Secondary School is 16 years. What provision is in place for the proposed 2-year minimum lag? Should they just stop at their present class of study and continue when they fit the 18 years model?
Or, will the FG provide and encourage vocational centers for all to bridge the Post Secondary School/ Pre-University stage? If this is in place, it will make load of sense. Otherwise, it will be unfair to plunge our future leaders to an unfair loss of competitive advantage among their global peers I'm yet to be convinced on the relevance of this new policy. The policy is retrogressive, baseless & anti-progress. The calibre of persons heading our Education Ministry should be reviewed. A modern Professor advocating for such a policy is absurd & simply reflects that our educational system is obsolete & outdated. |

AMINDA: There is no-one from the North who doesn't know that Elrufai's travails from Uba Sani is being orchestrated by people around the Presidency. First you denied him the ministerial slot after sending emissaries to ask him to accept to work with you, then you sponsor fictitious probe against arguably the best northern governor in recent times, all in a bid to smear his reputation. Despite all Elrufai did for his election, and after promising publicly to work with him?
Tinubu lost me and a lot of other northern voters with that treacherous behaviour. Elrufai is not a small northern politician and it would have paid Tinubu more to have him by his side. Tinubu's strategy appears to be withering the influence of strong northern politicians by sponsoring chaos in their states through fictitious probes, and fueling emirship crisis. This will turn out to be the archiles heel of Tinubu. You can't beat a child and expect him not to cry.
No matter how strong you think Tinubu is, he can not choose a leader for the Northerners. Northerners decide their fate and choose their own leaders. The current turnaround of Northerners against Tinubu is largely as a result of this betrayal of strong northern figures in favour of much less influential northerners who cannot even deliver votes for him. Tinubu has successfully scattered APC with his own hands and he doesn't even have the whole South on lockdown. He has silently dropped off all other blocs that came together to form the party in favour of only the ACN and non-APC members, preferring to take it all. We hope he can perform enough to get the entire south to align with him in 2027. We watch! There's no monolithic North & the core-North never voted for him in the1st instance. Power was snatched for him by some elements who will definitely repeat same in 2027. The political gladiators in the North have not done much to improve the quality of lives of the populace. How many of them can comfortable sleep in their hometowns? The North needs visionary newbreed politicians that can initiate progress & development. The vast land in the North has not been utilized properly for mechanized farming including ranching which is the solution to the nationwide herders-farmers conflict which is responsible for the recent food scarcity in the country. |

Bulldozer90: you go cry tire. Truth hurts you more than anyone else in the country.
The truth is that MKO was a martyr of democracy (killed by his own people). The real hero of June 12 was Humphrey Nwosu.
How come June 12 is called the freest and fairest election in Nigeria's history but for some reasons we never get to hear the name of the man who conducted it?
Why do we only hear only the name of the would've been beneficiary who was a politician and not Nwosu who did his job not minding the fact he was going to benefit nothing from it ?
Why did we deliberately forget the public servant that did his best against incredible odds just to defend democracy and it's institution as a public servant?
Why would future INEC chairmen be encouraged knowing that their best sacrifice would mean nothing to the people?
Dey play Nwosu deserves to be celebrated but Abiola is the Hero of democracy because he fought for his mandate till he was exterminated. Nwosu was quiet due to certain circumstances. |

My secondary school alumni association donates money for sick members and for members hosting events. Those hosting events are not mandated to give the association anything. Accept the alumni's donation and serve the alumni whatever you can afford. Two or three years ago, they talked about asking members in diaspora to help members in Nigeria to japa. But that topic didn't get a serious attention.
My university alumni association funds dinner night for graduating students every year and occasionally call members for get-together events without mandatory contributions from members. Peter Obi has provided water to communities that lacked water & the government of the day couldn't assist them. He's challenged those that can do better than him to do the needful. The nemesis of the PDP is linked to the way they treated GEJ because he's a minority & the cash & carry politics associated with their Presidential election primaries. The party led the country for 16 years & finds it difficult to play the role of a leading opposition party because most key members cannot survive outside the government circle. The way forward is for members to abide by the principles laid down by the founding members of the party & ensure that internal democracy strives in the party. That way, they will be able to produce a candidate that can win Presidential elections. |

Most African Christians, especially Nigerians don't even know this and that's why they support Israel in EVERYTHING. The funny thing is that, the present day Israel is not even the same Israel in the Bible. These Israelis are mere European land grabbers and migrants from Poland, Netherlands, Denmark etc. Even their prime Minister is not from Israel. The Palestinians they've been terrorizing since 1948 are more Israelite than them. The conflict in Gaza is mainly a problem between the Jews & Arabs over the occupation of Palestine & declaration of a State of Israel by the Jews in 1948 & the resistance by the Arabs. The two State proposal as a solution to the crisis is not supported by the Israelis due to acts of terrorism against the State of Israel by Hamas. Israel is presently at war with Hamas with displacement of millions of Palestinians. |
