To the entomologists /insect specialists io this forum and those who have some kind of knowledge about insects. I am looking for where to get darkling beetles (tenebriondae) for some small scale scientific project.
Please if you have an idea about them and/or how to source them, please kindly share your insights here. Thanks

Technology MarketRe: Drone Making Equipments by kk4real: 7:48am On Apr 15, 2016
Vicben:
Good day Tech marketers, there's a project I want to do with a small group of students. We want to make a drone using a mixture of locally sourced and custom made materials like the flight controller and others.

Challenge is where and how to get these components here in Nigeria.

We'd appreciate any suggestions and directions.

Thanks.
PM me I'll give you someones number who builds them locally. He should be able to assist or point you in the right direction.

Kamkamdd:
Hello N/Ls!Pls i wantt sombdy who has an idea or who is into fertilizer biz to advice me.
I got an offer from a fertilizer company(manufacturing)in europe to introduce their product for them into d Nija mkt.Dis product is not like oda fertilizers but dis one is liquid fertilizer.
To be frank i don't want to miss d opportunity,& on d oda hand i know notin abt dis biz.
So pls anybdy who can help me out on how to do dis should advice me.
Mi contact no is 08099468750.Tanx!
What i would advise you to do is get a few samples down here, do a trial testing with existing farmers. Get proper feedback, arm yourself with proper feedback records. If there is considerable success (i.e if farmers see a significant difference with your product as against other products, then you are good to go) because you would have created a demand and that in itself makes the product market itself. Don't sell a product, always sell a solution. Look for where it itches a client and scratch the itch.
If you would like to discuss further you can PM me.
AgricultureRe: Vertical Sack Farming Made Easy by kk4real:

I am afraid it might not hold again on the 23rd. Notion Africa is yet to reconcile some certain issues with the local government councils. These issues appear to be clashing with the principles of the NGO footing the bills... Until this is sorted out, perhaps after the local council election.. The issues has to do with politics. NGO needs the backing of the councils to release funds while the council wants to marry the program into their own agenda for political gains. This is the cross road! I hope it's resolved on time. NGO is ready to foot the bills for 150 participants with 10k star up.
My 2cents advice avoid Govt officials like a plague when you can, deal with them when only absolutely neccessary. MOST of them are after selfish interests, they have no one's interest at heart. All they want is to score cheap political points. It's very rare to see Govt officials who have vision and their constituents interest's at heart.
AgricultureRe: Tanzania Set To Surpass Brazil Top Sisal Grower In The World by kk4real: 8:33am On Apr 08, 2016
dgitrader:
This crazy crop. No fertilizer needed, no pest worries, no insects, no grazing attacks, no thefts, no weeds, no drought, no mentainance. Even fire cant kill it. Wasting away all over the north. Yet some countries earn bullions from it. We even import its finished products. What a shame. How I wish theres any processors around, I will love to cultivate it.
Do you know precisely location where sisal is grown in Nigeria?

PropertiesRe: Difficulty In Recharging NEPA's Old Prepaid Meter by kk4real: 4:15am On Mar 08, 2016
sammily:
We have been using this prepaid meter (picture attached) in our family house in festac which we got since the time of NEPA. Its uses a smart card which we take to their office to load, and then insert the card into the meter to transfer the credit into it.

But since the introduction of the discos (EKO Electricity Distribution Coy), we have been unable to recharge the meter, they told us they don't have the machine to load the card again (as if it all just suddenly disappear with PHCN). We were advised to pay for a new prepaid meter again, which we did but to date they keep saying to meter.

Now the current meter is running out of credit (luckily the last recharge was large), that's why it could last this long, with the fact that they hardly give us power (light) here, and we've been strictly conserving it since.
?? undecided undecided undecided
Find out if yaba is under the same jurisdiction as Festac, if it is you can load at yaba. Know someone who still uses it. Pm me if you need further information

AgricultureRe: Thanks by kk4real: 6:23pm On Jan 21, 2016
Package a proper business plan/proposal. With that you can source for private investors. 320 litres in a whole year from 25acres? that just a scam. Except the trees are diseased or not yielding fruit which i doubt. Our people can b very dishonest at times. That just wickedness. Send me a mail on tonero98@yahoo.com
PoliticsRe: HOW AGRO-INDUSTRILIZATION CAN BE THE "NEW CRUDE OIL" IN NIGERIA by kk4real: 8:46pm On Dec 24, 2015
obasiken:
I was part of a team that introduced some foriegn investors to a governor in the south east. They wanted to start a palm plantation and refine the palm oil to meet europe standard before exporting it.

This plantation will employ 2000 people for a start and return about 1.5b per month to the state government. All they needed was land.

The governor asked us how long before ROI (return on investmvent). We told him 6 years cos palm tree takes time to grow. The governor told us he cannot be investing for his successor to come and reap.
Obasiken. Please can you kindly send me a mail on tonero98@yahoo.com or send me your contact details. I would like to engage you on something regading this agro topic. Thanks
