Secondly, In all those countries you mentioned, (a). Are Igbos not thriving more than the Yorubas dwelling there even though they engage themselves (including Yorubas) in illicit deals?.
(b). Are imports of goods by Igbos from those countries not part of major taxes that are developing Lagos State?
And lastly, what are the Yoruba people short/long term strategic objectives in dealing with Igbo's hateful nature particularly towards the Yorubas?.

There is outrage from Nigerians on Twitter after Akinwumi Adesina, President of the Africa Development Bank, sprung to the defence of former military Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, on looting allegations levelled against him.

British Member of Parliament, Tom Tugendhat, while proposing sanctions on Nigerian Government officials complicit in violating the rights of #EndSARS protesters, said Gowon looted half of Nigeria’s treasury when he was ousted from office in a coup and fled for the United Kingdom.

The revelation by Tugendhat generated interest among many young Nigerians, who felt the information was deliberately omitted from Nigeria’s history textbooks to potray Gowon as a hero.

Gowon oversaw Nigeria’s civil war, which lasted from 1967 to 1970 where more than three million people died.

Adesina in Gowon’s defence said he was a man of integrity and impeccable character.

His tweet did not, however, go well with many Nigerians, who described his decision to defend the former military leader while choosing to stay silent on the killing of peaceful #EndSARS protesters in Lekki as hypocritical.

Jackson Ude urged Adesina to allow Gowon defend himself or sue if he feels he had been defamed.

Obademi Micheal expressed his disappointment in Adesina, saying, “Youths were murdered, you said nothing. Thank you for revealing what you stand for. Definitely not a true Nigeria. As to many that thought you were a good example. Now we know what you truly stand for.”

For those Igbos seeking brotherly relationship with the Yorubas, this global Yoruba elite, have just described Gowan as a man of integrity and impeccable character. Who is in the best position to know about Gowan's character if I may ask?. Is it the British(whom their relationship with Nigeria is that of everlasting exploitation regardless of the human cost) propped him up to play the role he played in Nigeria unfolding history or the Yorubas whom their relationship with Nigeria is primarily base on tribal permutations with the Igbos as their primary target ( until recently, as they have beginning to understand what that hate means as Hausa Fulani are hail bent/total determination to emansculate everything from the middle belt down to the Atlantic)

To me,(..& I apologises in advance if I'm being judgemental),Gowan's integrity and impeccable characteristics (as I also sense it from his aura) must also follow with a footnote,....he supervised the genocide of millions of human beings for nothing. His integrity & impeccable blinded him on the other side of the coin( Hausa Fulani agenda then & now) After war and genocide, the objectives & reasons for such human carnage will be enthroned....... Rwanda comes to mind, In Russia, tens of millions lost their lives in 1917 revolution and what comes out of that... science, technology and industrialization. The examples are numerous.
Today, Nigeria is the world capital of poverty, the world highiest infant mortality, world highiest drug abuse, out of school children etc.... still trying to see where this integrity and impeccability fits in.

I don't think we've heard the last on Gowon from the British side ( those who know this character more than any... created his historical role in Nigeria) and another Yoruba elite (not even Hausa Fulani) who will come to his defense.

I'm Igbo, I feel and see what you feel, I'm just telling them that all the policies had given us a new push, but it too late even if they revert to regional government now, Igbos had infiltrated all the regions again but if they installed a regional government after the war, it could have been harder for we Igbos given that, we could have found it hard to rebuild the economy with 20 pounds for every one with a bank account but instead Igbos withdrew the 20 pounds used it to for transport fair to other regions, I dont think you exactly need to insult me if you understood me

The Federal government however retained the central government giving Igbos a chance to thrive in other locations now with tremendous Energy, Igboland is being rebuilt with revenue where about 50% comes from outside the region.

As far as central government exist, Igbos can't be crushed, were you really expecting that Ironsi, Azikiwe and Ojukwu envisaged that the Igbos will stay in power forever when they were enthroning central government, No, but they did understand that a central government will more likely protect us whether we are in power or not.

Since after the civil war, worst than what you envisioned on the Igbos have taken place actually.

The Igbos have being under the crushing blow of successive federal government for decades since after the war, but have survived nevertheless. Their territories have being reduced & joined with Benue, Kogi and Rivers States, no federal government's infrastructural projects in the region, no good roads. Endless killings and destruction of properties from Hausa/Fulani, higher educational pursuit, same story, no international airport/sea port for a group known to be the most traveled in Africa, in politics, the worst and etc. So what other crushing earth scotching evil policies haven't the Igbos been through other than complete annihilation, and yet they still thrives. Just look at the recent modern gauge rail projects going on. Igbos, as a result of all these evilness from their country men/women are now all over the country (even in Maidugiuri) and the world at large ( Igbos hold community meetings in about 80 countries or more).

No wonder they are #1 in FX inflows into the Nigerian economy of which the same evil governments against them (who forced this nature of migration against them) are seeking ways to harvest this FX inflows. No wonder almost every week on Nairaland forums, "Igbo Amaka" pops up...the recent one; The Nigerians players in US NBA( 99%Igbos). No wonder they dominate in real estates in Lagos, Abuja & etc. I can go on and on......

China Communist state enterprises who facilitate most of this infrastructural projects loans through their export import banks are scaling back on these loans to African countries because some of these loans (if there are no resolution soon among imf, sovereign wealth funds, privately held loans etc as to how they can collectively approach the risk of default from these African countries, Africa recent infrastructural developmental strides are toast) may be heading for a default, regardless if your loan load to your GDP is still 50% below the threshold ( Nigeria comes to mind here).

Bankable rail lines in Nigeria from the get go with these opportune infrastructural loans from China should have included firstly, lines from Lagos-Benin-Onitsha axis, Lagos to Kano, Lagos to Ibadan, Lagos to Abuja and Lagos to Portharcourt and then others follows

So, rethink again about the future of Onitsha one more time. Onitsha+Nnewi+the river port+ cargo airport+ the strength of one of the greatest diasporan population in this world+ the advantages of the speed of technology(fin tech comes to mind. The North, Hausa Fulani will lose control and manipulation of financial flows to this technology).

While in Ndoni, he married a second wife to gain the love and favour of the people. The new wife gave birth to a son, which he named Ogba. Akalaka was still in Ndoni when his first wife, the mother of Ekpeye, gave birth to his third son called Ihruoha (Ikwerre).

A former member of the House of Representatives and aspirant for the position of the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibrahim Baba, has written to President Muhammadu Buhari, urging him to shift the operational base of Nigerian seaports from Lagos to Port Harcourt.

The former lawmaker, in a letter dated October 22, also copied the offices of the Vice President and the minister of transportation.

He based his reason on the wanton destruction of properties recently by hoodlums which led to the burning of the Nigerian Ports Authority office in Lagos.

“Already, there are two major seaports in Rivers State – the Rivers ports and the Onne port – that can successfully execute all the international shipping businesses that have been going on in Lagos,” said Mr Baba.

“And may I also advise that similar ports in Calabar, Cross Rivers State and elsewhere be enhanced, and completion works on the Baro port in Niger State should be expedited so that the country can have various alternative means of facilitating local and international trade. This will also help free the nation from possible threats and blackmails by gangsters who could destroy or hijack a particular port in order to sabotage the nation’s economy.”

PREMIUM TIMES reported how hoodlums, following the shooting of unarmed protesters at the Lekki Tollgate on Wednesday, set ablaze the NPA building, among other government properties, in Lagos.

The shooting at the Lekki Tollgate also led to an escalation of violence with reported attacks on private properties and businesses.

Prominent amongst properties destroyed by the hoodlums were the BRT station with buses, TV Continental (TVC), Adekunle police station, Herbert Macaulay Yaba and Lagos City Mall amongst others.

Asides Lagos, properties were also looted and destroyed in Ondo, Jos, Kano and Abuja.

Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu has stirred up a debate on Twitter after sharing her opinion that the Igbo apprenticeship system have contributed to why many people from other tribes resent Igbos.

It is given that the age long Igbo apprenticeship system has produced a lot of multimillionaires of Igbo extraction to the wonder of many from other tribes.

The Igbo apprenticeship system allows a businessman take a young person to learn about his business and eventually get settled (given start-up capital) after an agreed period of time, which usually lasts between 5 to 7 years. During the service period, the younger person (servant) serves the businessman (master) while learning the business.

The Igbos have used the system to build themselves and relatives into renowned business men and women even where apprentices have little, or no formal education.

A Twitter user had said: “The Igbo’s apprenticeship program is the only ‘MBA’ class in the world that teaches the real intricacies of running a business, the practical application of SWOT and PESTEL analysis. And when you graduate, they’ll give you seed capital to start the business. A system that works.”
In replying the tweet, Aisha Yesufu pointed out that “The Igbo apprenticeship is an amazing system and the reason Igbos are great in business.”

However, she went on to say that “Everything has it’s advantage and disadvantage and that same system has also portrayed Igbos as clannish people who only employ their own people and never assimilate”

Her tweets opened up a debate as she went on to state that the apprenticeship system have contributed to Igbos been resented the same way Jews are resented.

She went on; “These are my opinions and thoughts over the years and I might be completely wrong but this is how I see it.

“There is a need to take a deliberate look at the Igbo apprenticeship system & begin to look at ways of inclusion. It can start with 5% inclusion of others. When you always go to your village to bring those that will work for you how do you expect the people where you are to feel?

“Just like the Jews, Igbos are resented & I have always wondered why? Is it because they are successful and can achieve anything from nothing? Is it the resilience? I concluded it is because it seems no matter how long they stay with you or you with them you are never one in biz

“A situation where as a business person you only employ your people via the apprenticeship model & no matter how long you stay in a place you never employ the indigenes there except to load and off load. there will be resentment. More if it is not one off experience but the norm

“The Jews too have that trait. Family businesses. Helping each other grow in business and capacity to gang up(if na one naira na one naira) on business issues are common traits shared by both Igbos and Jews. The others feel like outsiders not allowed to share in the goodness

“Systems are to be looked at and upgraded from time to time. It is also important to look at how things are perceived by others. You don’t have to change but just know this is how this action is seen by others

“In all the riots I witnessed as a child, I always say it is more economical than religion. Host community usually think it is the others that kept them impoverished. They feel those monies would have been theirs if these people weren’t there. People don’t blame their lazy selves.

Aisha Yesufu, how dare you delve into a subject that can be seen/analyse from a national anthropological, socio-economical-political angle?. There is a motive(a dark one as always towards the children of light).

My point, is not that the subject can't be analyse on its own merit or demerit, but at this critical/shaky time in this country, such analysis must be done from the national scope. Nigeria is at crossroads now, therefore, your analysis must cross reference other social cultural traits in the country, like the Fulani Rugga system, the Yoruba media dominance and etc & collectively analyse their merits or demerits towards establishing a progressive social cultural order in the country, and not a situation where one cultural trait is ruthlessly killing off Nigerians, while another see advantages in being biased, and you cleverly use your analysis of pros & cons of that one 'focus' cultural trait to express Your Own biases.

Fact:, Communist Chinese government have pulled 800 million people out of poverty in the last 30 years or so....... but it's communism with Chinese Characteristics and it worked for them.

Now, what's Nigerian characteristics, as you might ask?. The Nigeria factor comes to mind. The Fulani Jihadists in the government will use it as purposeful vehicle to advance Islam and conquer /control other tribes for a thousand years.

My own solution. Straighten the country's dysfunctionality first (Constitutional changes/structural reframing). Lay more emphasis on Africa agenda 2063 & Africa continental free trade area. Africa must find a way to present a United front in this complicated world at this stage. If Africa decide that the Chinese model should be adopted, it must be decided from the AU level or the black race will disappear. If you know, you know.

The point the OP is trying to get across to the hardened Nigerian/African/black minds like you is that we black people in most part do not do critical reasoning + analytical skills period. The coming of the Fulani into Hausaland resulted in significant changes in the area. They brought the full force of Islam which became a great factor of social life and culture. In education, dress, taste and outlook, the Hausa and their Fulani conquerors became part of the Islamic culture world. This influence remains till today.
Many Hausa people continue to be subsistence farmers, with a few practising mixed farming. Others are skilled craftsmen, such as leather workers.

The Fulani on the other hand comprise’ ruling dynasties, semi-sedentary farmers, settled farmers and herders but in the main pastoralists.
Today, Hausa/Fulani influence has spread over much of the culture in Northern Nigeria where the Hausa language has become important.

Here in Nigeria, another major African tribe (Yorubas) due to their tripple heritage of their ancient belief systems, their Christian & Islamic backgrounds, have their value systems and ethics completely warped.(groups value systems & ethics, two vital elements that build strong social institutions are product of your culture, tradition & religions).

They call it political sophistication, while the nation they love so much, apolitically have been descending down into abyss most of her history. Down into the abyss of the world poverty capital, only God knows what the next abyss will portends with alas covid-19.
