Aren't you being quick to assume here that the woman is not herself the breadwinner in the marriage, the reality for what seems almost 50% of marriages in Nigeria?

Unfortunately, that script of yours does not tell us the whole story a lot of times. The reason why men do not divorce their wives outright is usually so they can have something to run back to if it does not work out for them elsewhere. That is why the divorce rate in Nigeria remains artificially low even to this day, while the spousal abandonment rate remains significantly high.

This story states the woman had already been caught by the husband, and it is this same she is now attempting to convince him to let her continue keeping her side-dick, meaning the husband has yet to find his way since for reasons best known to him.
