For him to believe oppressing and even going as far as putting his own people at risk makes him somehow better than those he pretends he is up against speaks volumes about that. undecided

No evidence,I see! So you are telling us that the numerous video evidence available in public space of your politicians hiring and paying off Special advisers, online touts, and even protest disrupters are not evidence enough? OK! undecided

■ I was just trying to understand the situation, I have been hearing some people accuse Simon Ekpa working with FG to destabilize the east. Unfortunately, all the people cheering him on Facebook and Twitter are 100% the same people you are saying are being destabilized. you can verify this yourself, I mean all his supporters are from the East, and the foot soldiers fighting on his behalf are all easterners as well. Before you blame FG, why don't you look inward, and accept the fact that you are being sabotaged by your own people?
● The people paid off by the FG to destabilize and manipulate all attempts at revolt against Tinubu in the South West, are they not people from the South West and do they not have supporters equally from the South West?
● Those paid off by the FG to destabilize and manipulate the people in the North, are they not equally people from the North and do they not have supporters from the North?

Why is it far-fetched to believe that the same FG also pays off some of those destabilizing and manipulating affairs in the South East? undecided

Why are the people protesting the work at the refinery? Is that not something reasonable people would want to know? undecided

The situation in Nigeria has rendered so many without the ability to critically reason their existence and situation. Imagine supporting a man who is comfortably sitting off in somewhere Finland —maybe raising his family there too. A man uses his terrorist group to terrorize South Easterners impeding their freedom of movement and expression, yet you think that because many of his supporters are Easterners, he must not be working for the FG? Are the Uzodinmas, and other political class in the South East who pillage, kidnap, and destroy the lives of their constituents every chance they get equally working on behalf of the South Easterners? undecided

■ According to an insider, presently, there is also an ongoing blockade at the entrance of the refinery preventing work from commencing. “Hundreds of people are currently gathered at the PHRC entrance, preventing workers from doing their jobs and vowing that the refinery restart will not proceed,” the source said.
■ On December 21, 2023, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited announced the completion of the mechanical rehabilitation on a section of the Port Harcourt refinery. Mele Kyari, group chief executive officer (GCEO) of NNPC, had said the refinery would begin production by the end of March, but this has not happened.
TheCable had reported on July 9 that the presidency expressed concerns over the NNPC’s failure to deliver critical projects including the Port Harcourt refinery. But Heineken Lokpobiri, minister of state for petroleum resources (oil), said such projects often take time, adding that the refinery is at its final rehabilitation stage.
On July 15, the national oil company said the Port Harcourt refinery would begin operations in early August

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) had earlier reported that the senior officer allegedly defiled the teenager at the Area H Command, Ogudu.
[b]The girl was sexually assaulted while trying to recover her phone which was stolen by some suspected criminals.
The officer, who offered to help the girl retrieve her phone, tricked her to the station on the pretext that the phone had been recovered and the thief arrested.

PoliticsRe: When Exactly Is The Protest Starting? by Kobojunkie: 4:35pm On Jul 17, 2024
Ddeliverer007:
I’ve heard so much about this protest. It’s more like the apocalypse. But nobody is saying when it’s starting. When is it starting??
Before you go out to protest, know your rights as a Nigerian.
Everyone has the following human rights:
Freedom of Expression and Assembly: Everyone has the right to carry their opinion to the streets. People have the right to organize peaceful protests and demonstrate free from intimidation, unnecessary or excessive force, and the threat of prosecution and detention
Protection of the Right to Freedom of Assembly: Law enforcement must facilitate and not restrict a peaceful public assembly. Where a minority tries to turn a peaceful assembly into a violent one, law enforcement should protect the peaceful protestors and not use the violent acts of a few as a pretext to restrict or impede the exercise of the fundamental rights of a majority.
Freedom from Excessive Use of Force: In the policing of non-violent protests, police must avoid the use of force. If it is unavoidable (for example to defend themselves or the public from an imminent risk of serious injury or death) they must use the minimum amount of force necessary. The type of equipment used to disperse crowds such as rubber bullets, tear gas, and stun grenades can result in serious injury and even death and can only be used when necessary, proportional, and lawful.
Right to Medical Assistance: If you are injured you have a right to medical assistance without delay.
Freedom from Arbitrary Arrest and Detention: If you are arrested you have a right to be told of the reason for your arrest, you also have the right promptly after your arrest to have access to a lawyer and to your family. No person under any form of detention may be subject to torture, or to cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment.
Right to Complain: If your rights have been violated you have a right to file a complaint and to be provided information on how to do so. All violations of human rights by the police or other law enforcement personnel must be investigated fully, promptly, and independently

What makes you think you’re wiser than the Supreme Court Justices? huh huh

If someone is in stack violation of the law, the common sense thing that should happen is for that person to be arrested and prosecuted for thoze illegal acts -- in this case he would need to be impeached first. Those who knew the constitution and the Law better than you have given their judgement and decisions, and these stands until and if another constitution is fabricated for the country.
So therefore, your ranting and vituperation here is like the scratching of an ant on the ground, it serves no purpose.
When your governor was looting and flexing with what should be used to develop your LGA, there was no whimper from you. But when someone who want to develop your local community fought to rectify this anomaly and bring development to your village, instead of you applauding him, but because he defeated your candidate in the last election, you are here castigating him. Is that not witchcraft?
That statement in bold ---- the belief that they know your laws and everything else better than you do ---explains why your political class have been able to deceive you all into falling for the same scams from the same set of crooks for the 25 years now. they will continue to do so until you wake your brains the fk up! undecided

Talking about Section 162, are you claiming to be more knowledgeable or wiser than the Supreme Court Justices? huh
If you realise that the State Governors have been bearing down on the LG Administrations and stealing funds meant for them, shouldn’t we rejoice that someone with balls has introduced legislation to clip their wings and allow the LGs to breathe?
∆ Why must you wish for the status quo to remain merely because you think the FG wants more power….more power to do what exactly? huh Your reasoning is totally illogical and ridiculous! cool
Try to adequately reason the content of a post before responding. undecided

What you refer to as the status quo has been of illegal acts, violations of section 162 by your Governors for almost 25 years now that have been largely ignored by a population mostly ignorant of the details of their own Law. Now, to solve that illegality, rather than insist on the Law, your Supreme Court which is tasked with upholding the Constitution completely ignores it altogether to insist on another illegallity. How can that favor the people when the ones who continue to benefit are instead your politicians? undecided
