However, In February 2015, the president-elect was asked about his stance on Sharia. He assuredly responded that “the problem is that the Nigerian constitution is superior." ■ Do you compare that with one childish ethnic law? Who be this one? Chapter 1. Part 1. Chummynoni: Paternity fraud is a crime and should be punishable by death. Your ancestors did not consider it criminal as they instead insisted that all children born within a marriage, and this applies as far as many cultures even in Nigeria, belonged to the man — no outsider had the power to contest this. This is the traditional marriage agreement in, much of Nigeria. Once you are customarily married, you agree to accept paternity fraud as part of the allowed excesses in your union. If the Nigerian government were to criminalize paternity fraud, individuals would have to opt for the legal marriage route as opposed to the customary marriage route to have this benefit apply as far as their union. Are Nigerian men equally ready to abandon the traditional marriage route at this time? |

Matrix137: I think you should quietly exit this thread. We are not here for arguments but prayers, word reading etc as the lady Op implies on this thread. You are here for prayers? Share God or share opinions that are intended to subvert God's very own word? For instance, Jesus Christ said that those who belong to Him pray in secret and in hiding where God alone can see or hear them. But Christians are known to pray out in public and to the hearing of third parties, a ritual which is antiChrist in its every orientation. My question to you is, was Jesus Christ facetious or downright lying when He gave those commandments to His disciples in Matthew 6 vs 6 - 15 in response to their question to Him regarding how they ought to pray? 5 “When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites. They love to stand in the synagogues and on the street corners and pray loudly. They want people to see them. The truth is, that’s all the reward they will get. 6 But when you pray, you should go into your room and close the door. Then pray to your Father. He is there in that private place. He can see what is done in private, and he will reward you. 7 “And when you pray, don’t be like the people who don’t know God. They say the same things again and again. They think that if they say it enough, their god will hear them. 8 Don’t be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 So this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, we pray that your name will always be kept holy. 10 We pray that your kingdom will come— that what you want will be done here on earth, the same as in heaven. 11 Give us the food we need for today. 12 Forgive our sins, just as we have forgiven those who did wrong to us. 13 Don’t let us be tempted, but save us from the Evil One.’ 14 Yes, if you forgive others for the wrongs they do to you, then your Father in heaven will also forgive your wrongs. 15 But if you don’t forgive others, then your Father in heaven will not forgive the wrongs you do. - Matthew 6 vs 5 - 15 Was Jesus Christ mistaken about what His followers ought to do when praying to His Father in Heaven? That seems to be what the religion of Christianity is rooted in, the idea that Jesus Christ got it all wrong and so should not be listened to or obeyed. |

lagospropertiez: ■ In Igbo tradition, and even according to Nigerian law (you can look it up or ask a lawyer if you don't believe it) any child born within a marriage union belongs to both parties in that union. This protects the marriage from an outsider coming to claim any such children on the grounds that they were fathered by him (imagine a sperm donor for example) So in the case of paternity fraud, both in Nigerian law and according to Igbo culture, a man can reject any bastard children, especially if the marriage is dissolved. But he has legal and traditional claim to the children as their father if he so chooses. So for example, let's say that a man finds out that his 3 grown children born by his wife and loved and raised by him are not biologically his, legally, they remain his, even if their biological father shows up to claim them, unless he himself rejects them. So, this means that thanks to the ancestors and traditions which many Nigerian men cling so strongly to, many are not even fathered by those they regard as their biological. Acidosis: I'm not against a DNA test o. But many of you are too focused on the paternity of your kids even while you're not sure whether the man you call father is your actual father. To imagine that paternity fraud started in your generation is the actual fraud. 🤣 You people are only venting now because of your emerging dislike towards younger Nigerian women. But that dislike and suspicion no dey ever reach una mama side. Ancestors who gave us our traditional laws which we hold to to this day did not consider this fraudulent. They embraced it as part and parcel of the package that is marriage. The agreement called traditional marriage was built on the understanding that Paternity fraud is an acceptable part of the package — not criminal. So, as we pursue a future of DNA testing and criminalization of paternity fraud, shouldn't we equally abandon Traditional Law(the whole) where it concerns marriage in its entirety at the same time? I am also not against DNA testing at all. I am just for common sense to reign even in this! Standing for criminalization of Paternity fraud sort of means standing against Traditional marriage. Are Nigeria boys ready for this ? |

In Genesis 2 vs 6 - 24, God did impact knowledge to Adam and Eve. What He didn't give to them was the knowledge contained in the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil which they did not need at the time. All they were required to do was obey the simple instructions that were given to them in Genesis 2. You can reason these simple things yourself. Does a baby first need to have the knowledge of the workings of the entire world pumped uploaded into its head before it can learn to eat, sleep, drink, poop, or even crawl and then walk? Of course! It just needs to know enough to carry out the simple tasks that are required of it then. Adam and Eve did not need to have all of the knowledge of good and evil in the world to carry out the one simple task before them. |

On the other hand, whoever obeys the Law and teaches others to do the same, will be great in the kingdom of heaven" Technically speaking, the least in the Kingdom of God are those who are not Holy — not law-abiding citizens of the Kingdom of God. In John 14, Jesus Christ even informed His followers that they can only enter into the place He has gone to prepare for them in His Father's house only after He has returned to take them there, not before that. 1 Jesus said, “Don’t be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me. 2 There are many rooms in my Father’s house. I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back. Then I will take you with me, so that you can be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.” - John 14 vs 1 - 4 If Jesus Christ's very first disciples, who walked with Him almost 2000 years ago, are still in their graves waiting for Him to return and then take Him to His Father's House as He promised, how did these other people whom you believe so much in manage to enter into the Father's house without Jesus Christ needing to return to take them there? |

Because Jesus Christ, the King and Judge in the Kingdom of God, made it abundantly clear in His Gospel that: ▢ No one would be sent back from the dead to warn the living ▢ No man or woman will be admitted either into Heaven or Hell until after He has returned and judged the sheep and goats in His Kingdom. Christianity Etc › Re: Scriptures In The Old Testament Christ Used To Resist The Devil by Kobojunkie: 3:33pm On Mar 21, 2024 |
salvationproject: ■ MyCampusDaily special Sunday research is dedicated to all our Christian brothers and even Muslims who in one way or the other believe in the stories about the Man(Jesus Christ).Today we shall be highlighting the scripture reference Jesus used in resisting the Devil. I know that as a Christian, there must have been sometime you read Matt. 4(story of Jesus temptation) and you were confused i.e of where He was referencing to when He usually say "for it is written",Today this post shall answer that. 1.Devil:if you are the son of God,tell/turn this stone into bread(Matt. 4:3) Jesus:it is written (Deut. 8:3),man shall not live by bread alone but on every word from God mouth(Matt. 4:4) 2.Devil:if you are the son of God,throw yourself down(Matt. 4:6) Jesus:it is also written (Deut. 6:16),do not put your God to test(Matt. 4:7) 3.Devil:all this i will give to you if you bow down and worship me,say the tempter(Matt. 4:9) Jesus:away from me Satan! for it is written(Deut. 6:13),worship the Lord your God and serve Him only(Matt. 4:10). Conclusion:This proof of Christ exact words in the old testament leaves Christians with another character of Christ and that is studying the word of God but note Satan do study the scripture as well, this can be seen in Matt.4:6 where He was quoting from Psalm 91:11. What does it mean to "resist the Devil" since in the particular case you have identified the Devil did not go away even as Christ invoked the various commandments written in the Law of Moses against the Devil's every attempt to tempt the person of Jesus Christ? Adherents of the religion of Christianity like to pretend that resisting the Devil means making the Devil run away from them, and they claim they can achieve this by quoting random Scripture at the one they call the Devil. That claim is false as the longer a person holds to Christianity the more certain the person becomes of the Devil is to blame for all that could ever go wrong in his/her life. (The Devil never seems to go away from Christians.) This indicates that what Christians believe it means to "resist the Devil" is a scam that seems to turn their minds against them. So, from the example of Jesus Christ, what does it mean to resist the Devil? In Matthew 4, Jesus Christ showed by way of His example how it is only through obedience to the Law and commandments of God that one can overcome the various whims of the Devil — temptation, to be exact. Yes, God's mandate to men is obedience to His Law, and it is only through obedience to what the Law says that one can resist the temptation of the Devil. In His attempt to overcome the temptation of the Devil — resist the Devil—Jesus Christ focused on the contents of God's Law in obedience. Jesus Christ did not invoke or burst into an incantation of random sayings or verses spoken by men in Scripture. Rather, Jesus Christ acted in obedience to the commandments and teachings of God Himself written right in the Law of Moses. And by doing this, He was able to obey God's commandments, and overcome the temptation to disobey — fall to the temptation of the Devil. In following the example of Jesus Christ, one can surmise that to resist the Devil means to obey the actual details of God's Law — the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ for those who are of the Kingdom of God —as a way of resisting temptation brought on by the Devil. Contrary to the Christian idea, resisting the Devil does not cause the Devil to run away from one. Rather, resisting the Devil as Jesus Christ did causes one to continue to walk obediently according to God's Law and Truth. |

You may want to read her experience in heaven and that of several others: Religion is indeed of the Antichrist! By circulating these stories, OP, your opinion seems to be clearly against Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ said no one would be sent back from the dead to work the living. Jesus Christ also said that no one would enter into Heaven(Eternal Reward) or Hell(Eternal Damnation) until after He has returned and judged the sheep and goats in His Kingdom. But clearly, not only do you believe in Jesus Christ, you also believe these individuals who make these claims of their experiences know better than He does.
