Metrofox:In the passage you quoted, Jesus Christ only mentioned about 5 commandments. So, if we are to assume that only those 5 apply, what then to your claim that there are 10 commandments? What Jesus Christ instead did there in Matthew 19 was list just 5 out of a total of about 613 commandments and statutes that comprise the Law of Moses. ![]() By the way, your claim regarding argumentum ad hominem in this case is rubbish. You have never invested time into learning of the particulars of the Law of Moses for yourself self hence the reason why you go around arguing that there are only 10 commandments in the entire Law. Arguing from a point of ignorance is folly, isn't it? ![]() |
Bigseven:Of course it can't make sense to you because your obvious goal is to ensure she remains shackled even with all she has had to deal with. That seems to be the default programming of the average Nigerian, particularly towards womenfolk. ![]() |
Bigseven:OP is already in depression as a result of her husband's roaming dick. She has probably been in depression for the last 6 years of his roaming. So why make it seem as though depression will only come to her now if she chooses to act in her own interest after all this time enduring mental abuse from another? ![]() What an untamed man in terms of infidelity can do? What the fk does that mean and why should that be OP's concern at this point for Pete's sake? ![]() 3. OP has been in depression for all this while because of her husband's cheating. What in the world are you on about? ![]() 4. Two wrongs don't make a right, but her husband's wrong does, right? Abegi! Stop desperately trying to put chains on OP. You can't help but have her remain controlled, can you? For the umpteenth time, the woman is depressed as is and for no fault of hers in marriage. Her husband's cheating is the reason for her depression. So why are you trying to add chains to her predicament? ![]() |
Beautifulday:You asked what a prophet is and I assured you by way of my response that prophets no longer exist in the world we live in. Kobojunkie: |
Beautifulday:You are not very good at what you are attempting, are you? ![]() |
GodHimself:You are running away from the questions. ![]() OP, now you see the true mettle of this one. He willingly prescribes for you that which he would not prescribe to his son or brother. ![]() |
Beautifulday:Adam was not a pastor(aka shepherd) nor did the pastoral system exist during his time. ![]() 2. I ought to be the one asking you that question since you clearly assume your private delusions are one-size-fits-all. ![]() |
GodHimself:Would you equally advise a man, a friend of yours, or even your brother, whose wife has been cheating on him for the last 6 years to seek out this same wisdom of these grandmothers or grandfathers in successful marriages? YES or NO! Humans eat consequences for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No need to threaten anyone with it. The consequence of OP's husband cheating on her for 6 years is depression/mental abuse which OP is fed up with. She is not the one cheating but she is definitely dealing with one of the consequences of her husband's adultery. So, would you equally advice a brother or son of yours to accept such a condition as a consequence? ![]() |
Beautifulday:You are incensed by it meaning it hits some nerves that you are unwilling to deal with, and probably would rather not deal with as you attack the beliefs of others within the same religion of Christianity you belong. ![]() |
GodHimself:Even babies face consequences so stop threatening op with it. ![]() 2. Would you equally advice a man, a friend of yours or even your brother,

whose wife has been cheating on him for the last 6 years to seek out the wisdom of these grandmothers or grandfather's in successful marriages? ![]() |
See the religion of Christianity at its best. A religion built on logical fallacies and held up by its adherents attacking those who attack the lies ad deceit that is the religion. There go to method, like numbskulls, is to always attack the messenger and never the message. They readily spin more fallacies and fabricate more lies if that is what it would take for them to claim a win over those who push against the logical fallacies. To top it off, the 47,000 various cults/denominations within the religion are as divided as the world outside of the union. Na wa oo! ![]() |
GodHimself:I don't know enough about her marriage to comment given she too may be yet another "successful" in marriage grandmother as well. I recall reading of another successful women who recently lost her successful-in-marriage status after 30 years of the endurance game. I guess we have to remove her from the list since she couldn't endure until the end, right? ![]() Nigerian society is sick, abi? Like say na the air and not the people wey dey carry all of that sickness around. ![]() |
Beautifulday:Attacking me like the typical churchian will not change anything nor the truth of what I stated. The God of Israel who instituted the prophet system in His Nation of Israel which He destroyed thousands of years ago put in seal on Prophets and visions almost 2000 years ago. ![]() P.S. if you wish for me to stop responding, log off of Nairaland. ![]() |
Metrofox:You know your life is of follly if even at this age you still believe God only gave the Israelites 10 commandments in the National Constitution which is the Law of Moses. Book don dey your front for over 20 years and you never taught to read it for your own self even till now? |
BareFacedLies:I am not gay! By the way, you mean in this life, luck for you is sex? Tufiakwa! ![]() |
GodHimself:Considering the vast majority of Nigerian grandmothers who in Nigerian society are considered to have been successful in marriage are psychologically battered women, what else? ![]() |
JobZoneNews:Which God? I hope you are not referring to the very same God who said your marriages are of this world and not of the Kingdom of God, right? You don't mean the same God who said that there are no special blessings on married folks, however, special blessings belong to people who would live as Eunuchs, including women who have no of their own to care for, right? Is that the same God you wish to impose on OP because her husband is cheating on her probably as some sort of punishment? ![]() |
GodHimself:By successful homes you mean women who endured in silence abuse and deceit in marriage from their husbands in silence, all at the cost of their mental health, abi? ![]() |
Bigseven:You impose God as if a shackle --- restrictions --- on the woman all while knowing the man roams free? You want her to pray for what exactly at this point in time? WOW.. ![]() OP,many people do not wish for you to be free because you are in there eyes a married woman and required to wear at least religious chains for the rest of you because of it. They wouldn't impose the same on the man though because somehow their religious god does not hold men to the same standards. Please know that you are the one who should determine how free you ought to be in your life same as your husband who wickedly chose to disrespect you in marriage. No other humans opinion should matter. ![]() |
Hollyharjii:There is absolutely nothing scriptural about these and many of your church rituals. Jesus Christ instead said that your marriages are of the world of men and not of the Kingdom of God - Luke 20 vs 34 - 36. He proceeded to declare that God's special blessings are instead on those who live as Eunuchs for the sake of the Kingdom - Matthew 19 vs 11 - 12 -, even assuring that it is the women who have no children that are blessed by God — not women who have children. ![]() 27 A large crowd followed Jesus. Some of the women were sad and crying. They felt sorry for him. |
Georgekyrian:Neither one of your mother, grandmothers, sisters or aunt exhibit the characteristics of a strong women? They were/are all just weak examples of women? ![]() |
hisgrace090:There is no truth to this claim you make here. What Peter said of Christ carrying our sin in His body on the cross was not meant to be read literally but figuratively. Why? Well, for anything to happen, there must first exist a way provided by the God of Isreal for it to happen. The God of Israel never provided for any man to carry away/absolve another man of his sins. This means that there was no way for Jesus Christ — Himself submitted to the Will/Law of the God of Isreal — to absolve men, equally submitted to the Old Law of Moses, of sins committed against the God of Israel. (Jesus Christ could not and did not magically absolve men of their sins.) ![]() 18 Slaves, be willing to serve your masters. Do this with all respect. You should obey the masters who are good and kind, and you should obey the masters who are bad.Something else you need to know as well is that a person under the curse of one of God's Laws cannot be set free from sin under that same Law because the curse is designed to prevent that from ever happening - Deuteronomy 28 vs 15 - 57 & Leviticus 26 vs 12 - 41. To redeem such a one, would first need to be removed, after which a different path to redemption be provided — a different Law/Covenant. Jesus Christ is God's new Covenant and Law meant to provide the people a path to redemption for their sins. To conquer the cause and free the people from the Old Law, what Jesus Christ was instead able to do —thanks to the example provided by the God of Israel in the desert when He raised the bronze snake as a beacon of salvation to the children of Isreal He condemned to die—was allow Himself to be raised similarly so he could remove the curse of death from their heads - John 3 vs 14 - 18. Once saved from the curse of sin — Death—, the people then had freedom to redeem themselves of their sins through the following of the New Law. ![]() |
GasAndOilTheory:More like shackles meant to control and subdue the minds of women in a way no different from the bukhas and hijabs of Islam. Jesus Christ gave no man or human authority over women using His name. He made clear in Matthew 23 vs 8 - 10 that He alone is Teacher, Master/Head over all men and women in His camp and they are all equal in His flock. ![]() Learn to mind your own life and dress code. You have no authority from God to mind any person's or any woman's. ![]() |
DeSepiero:Anon3: ... Jesus Christ was also sent by His Father, God of Israel, only to the Lost Sheep of Israel. ![]() |
irenmwinfo:There was never a war in Heaven. What you read from the Book of Revelations, a book of dreams/visions of a war between a character called Michael and a red Dragon is meant to be interpreted — as you would all dreams— and not consumed literally. ![]() The satan character described in the Book of Job as well as the Book of Zechariah is a servant of God who answers and takes orders only from God Himself. He is not an equal or an arch villain as the many religious narratives have made you to believe but rather a servant who reports and acts at the behest of God, His Master. ![]() |
hackwi:There is no truth to this claim as all 4 Gospels were written within the period before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD, same as the book of Revelation which was not written in 90AD but at least 20 years prior. ![]() |
Baawaa:That is not a simple statment but rather a 419 statement that is typical of your pastors and mogs, men of lies. ![]() Sin is simply disobedience of God's direct commandment given to man via His Law. When Adam and Eve sinned against God, what they did was disobey God's direct commandment given in His Law to them as stated in Genesis 2 vs 15 - 17. ![]() |
AntiChristian:What exactly did Judah do wrong in that case? His sons messed up and got death as a result. What sin did he, Judah, commit in that case? Yes, he did not pass his next son to the woman, probably for fear that he too may do wrong and be killed off by God but there was no time constraint to the deal he made with the woman. So what was his fault in it all? ![]() Also, if you read the story through the end, the woman was not inherited at all. These people of the time lived by the law which was that they multiply, and she got married for that purpose and seemed bent on accomplishing that very goal by way of that family. Something she eventually did after she slept with Judah himself so how was she "inherited" when she seemed to be on a mission of her own? ![]() |
Blue86:1. Sigh! Jesus Christ is God's New Law and Covenant in the Kingdom of God. It is only by abiding by the Law of God that one can be said to be saved by the Law. God sent Jesus Christ to save those among His people, Israel, who failed to meet the standard of His Old Law of Moses — the Lost sheep of Israel. And much the same as the Old Law, those who wish to be saved by the New Law ought also to live their lives in continuous submission and obedience of the New Law in other to be saved by Him, Jesus Christ. ![]() 2. Those are not at all doctrines but different takes on the mandate from God which is that those who live under His Law must obey His Law no matter what or face the consequences. 3. Wrong! The epistles put together contain less than 1% of the Gospel teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ. Those of you who worship the mere letters of the apostles without in fact learning the details of the Law Himself, worship in vain since near nothing of the actual teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ are to be found in you. ![]() |
edicied:OP, you were very close actually! Yes, Jesus Christ came with a new deal and yes, only those who sign up for the new deal — become born-again —could either end up in Heaven(Eternal Reward) or Hell(Eternal Damnation). The choice to end up in Eternal reward or Eternal Damnation is left up to the individual by Jesus Christ. Each born-again gets to decide whether to abide by the Law in the Kingdom of God —obey all of the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ —or not. So, it is a bit rash to suggest that Jesus Christ's deal isn't a fair one. ![]() |
