Our president lacks empathy, but sadly some people mistake lack of empathy for boldness and the will to take hard decisions that will benefit us later. What if after all these suffering, his policy doesn't yield any meaningful development? So he just used 200 million people's destiny in experimenting useless policies that eventually failed. There's no justification for any government decision that causes the death of suffering of it's citizens. Citizens well-being should always be the topmost priority of any government.

Another resident, Bukar Modu from Maiduguri, described how the constant terrorist attacks have further exacerbated their plight.
He said they have resorted to cutting down trees to make firewood and charcoal for sale, but even this source of income is hindered by violence along the Maiduguri/Damboa highway.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has reported a troubling surge in malnutrition cases, surpassing previous figures from last year.
