phantomxx: ↪Yeye gbajue president 😂 Student loans in a nation where graduates of more than a decade ago are still looking for jobs? Student loans, an initiative that its success depends on the students paying back the loans AFTER getting JOBS... where are the jobs? 😂 ..Where is the database for proper accountability? When we can't even maintain govt websites? Is this nigga for real? It works in the US because they have a vibrant economy ready to absorb graduates immediately, even at that, its a heavy burden to American taxpayers! Running a successful student loan scheme is NO MEAN FEAT! Always putting the cart before the horse. Always making stupid populist decisions without critically thinking them through. Copying successful initiatives from saner climes WITHOUT COPYING WHAT MAKES THEM SUCCESSFUL IN THE FIRST PLACE! What a joke of a man! A man who has been thoroughly demystified otherwise he would have gone down in history as the BEST PRESIDENT NIGERIA NEVER HAD like AWO and MKO.. 😂 I never believed in my life I would see any person who would make Buhari look like a freaking genius! 🤦🏾♂️ No mind them! Imagine that! Student loans in a country where people wey graduate 20 years ago are yet to be gainfully employed. Many of those protesting out there are graduates from so many years ago, some of them are now fathers and watching their children go through the same old sheet. The yeye man dey look for way to basically turn already impoverished people into live organ donors for their creditors. |

Now you are mocking his religion Dear northerners see your life on Nairaland. The same people pushing you to protest have started mocking your religion. Once they've succeeded in setting the country alight, then they will do away with you guys and bare their real intentions as it has already started happening on twitter. They want to change 3 to 1. Are you sure you are OK? |

Max24: This is why it's good to have a president that knows what he is doing. Tinubu said he has confidence in his plans and I believe him. I have always known that he is not a clueless president like others. On Tinubu's mandate I stand. The hardships we see today we shall see them no more. A President who uses bribery and corruption to coax people into not protesting against bad governance is not a good president. A president who uses force to manipulate his people's protest is not a good president. It does not matter what he thinks he knows. |

Wisdomkosi: ↪ In an official video released by the State House on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, President Tinubu acknowledged the difficulties faced by Nigerians, admitting that the transition has been tougher than expected. He attributed the hardship to an “avoidable lag” between the subsidy removal and the implementation of his administration’s plans. However, President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that his policies would ultimately yield positive results. He said, “Fellow Nigerians, this period may be hard on us and there’s no doubt that it is tough on us but I urge you all to look beyond the present temporary pains and aim at the larger picture. All our good and helpful plans are in the works. More importantly, I know that they will work. Sadly, there was an avoidable lag between subsidy removal and these plans coming fully on line.” “I plead with you, please, have faith in our ability to deliver and in our concern for your well-being. We will get out of this turbulence and due to the measures we have taken, Nigeria will be better equipped and able to take advantage of the future that awaits her. “For example, we shall fulfill our promise to make education more affordable to all and provide loans to higher education students who may need them. No Nigerian students will have to abandon higher education system because of lack of money. “Our commitment is to promote the greatest good for the greatest number of our people. On principle, we shall never falter, I assure you, my fellow countrymen and women, that we are exiting the darkness to enter a new and glorious dawn. Now, I must get back to work in order to make this vision come true.” This is the second time President Tinubu has addressed the nation amid the ongoing protests and unrest. He previously addressed the nation in a national broadcast on Sunday, August 4, 2024. I fully support the agitation for an end to bad governance across all of Nigeria, and I am particularly happy that the Northern States are not backing down at all. Enough is Enough abeg! No more audio promises that leave Nigerians always at the losing end. We saw this for 8 years of Buhari, and one year of Tinubu... that is over 9 years of Nigerians losing trillions of Naira to gain absolutely nothing. |

bitbillionaire: That is how it should be. Nice one. I just hope Nigerian law empowers INEC to attend to this kind of request. If so, Nigerians need to start adopting this strategy if they truly want the best from their elected representatives. What do you mean you hope Nigerian Law empowers INEC to attend to this kind of request?

SmartPolician: INEC is a monumental failure. If recalls were feasible in Nigeria, many politicians wouldn't be misbehaving! Stop being ridiculous! INEC is not to blame for people refusing to use the system to their advantage. The Nigerian people are solely to blame for that. That is why Rotimi Amaechi goes around the world telling people how the Nigerian people never act or stand up for their rights because they just do not have it in them to do so.

Clemzy31: ↪At this dire time of the nation's history, what the country needs are patriots, not ethnic or tribal champions. We need Nigerians who think Nigeria before their ethnic/tribal affiliations. We need leaders who are ready to subsume ethnic cleavages for national interest. We need leaders who are ready to stand shoulder to shoulder to salvage this Nation and restore her to the laudable dream of our founding fathers. Akpabio is a spectacular example of this national ideal. He is broad-minded, accommodating, receptive, sensitive and at home with every section of the country. Nigeria would not have asked for a better head of the Legislature at a time like this. Let us rally around him , support him and maximize his experience and leadership potential for national development.
