Look at the names of the airlines banned. How many of them have you heard of before? And it is no secret that most Nigerian airlines compromise their safety standards. But because it involves Saudi Arabia and is a hajj matter, people are looking for non existent motives,. If it was the US that banned these airlines, how many people would have complained? Many people on NL just seem to be quite shallow minded.

I would advice that you upgrade them to second worst. You merit the first position based on your comment here.

It was the announcer that did not state the reasons, not Saudi. Apparently, they take their air safety standards seriously and dont want molues in their airspace. Saudi airlines dont even come to Nigeria to airlift pilgrims, how can they be forcing Nigerians to use their airlines?

Well if the airlines banned cut corners or fall short of regulatory standards,then the ban is good and well deserved.

This is nonsense. Why would they disqualify Nigerian airlines without staring their reasons for doing so. In my opinion that's just a means of forcing more Nigerian pilgrims to use their own airline services,so even the Nigerian companies won't even be able to make money from the flights. The gov't must take measures ASAP. This is unacceptable

All I can see here is some scammers being scammed by better scammers. At the end of the day the positions weren't going to ordinary citizens who merit them in the first place. So let them continue,if Sex for position doesn't work,they should maybe try kidney for position,that might work.

simply refers to them travelling to those states mentioned.
They recommended against all travelling except for mandatory(essential) travel to the 17 states up there.

If you read well, you'd see that the post had 3states atop and 17 states below. The U.S advised its citizens not to go to the 1st 3 states at all while it gave 'Essential travel' as the only reason for them travelling to the 17 states.

Nigerians suck soo much,when it comes to comprehension walahi. The 17 states mentioned are states that can still be visited but with high vigilance and if possible for essential missions. The 20 not mentioned are those that must be avoided completely if possible.

I wonder if Godwin Obaseki of the APC is still in the Edo Governorship race?

The campaign has been all about Oshiomole, he does 90 % of the talking, Dancing and the comedy.

While i do not think PDP is a better party,APC will definitely not win if a free and fair election is conducted in Edo state. Oshiomhole is just an empty loudmouth that did nothing to improve the walfare of Edo people to a susbtantial degree,before the massive decline in National revenue,thus he's going to use that as an excuse for not performing better in his second tenure. Most of those who follow him around are just paid thugs and sycophants generally. Oshiomhole brought untold hardships on Edo people,from various useless taxxes going into private pockets,to the making thugs the unofficial fourth arm of government in Edo state. Up until now alot of state pensioners are still left unpaid,roads reamain in deplorable conditions,public utility is nothing to write home about. My real pain is just for those who will still decieved by the rice,sugar and salt and money that will be shared.

Why are you quick to attack the person and not the problem. Its really not about how much the country spent back then,the question you should be asking is if Nigeria can afford to spend such hug sums in quite an uncertain venture at a time like this. I agree that oil needs to be explored in other parts of the country,because it will make the NDeltans calm down,but is the NorthEast itself calm enough to commit such projects to? Even if they find oil in maybe 10yrs time,will Nigeria be able to survive the debt burden till we go from actual exploration to extraction/processing/sales?? Those are the pertinent questions that need to be considered before making decisions of this magnitude.
