What was your experience like?
To add to the piece of advice elders on this hustle have given out several times, do not use just any car for this hustle ,be it Tokunbo or brand new, stick with the recommended brands :Toyota Corolla, Honda civic ,Honda city and Hyundai) .
I thought i was wise enough using a Ford Mondeo Tokunbo for e hailing despite all the warnings and pleads from people who've been on the hustle for over a year but i got my hand burnt.
The little money i earned on this hustle for just three weeks was spent on fixing the car ,even had to borrow from friends : AC Evaporator, Compressor, fan blower, Brake pads and Battery, now, it's the shock absorber, oxygen sensor and spare tyre despite minimal hours on the road. But i am taking the car back home before i go bankrupt.
This is the end of my e hailing journey.
I wish you guys all the very best and pray, life gets better for everyone.

Wish you didn’t have to throw in the towel this early. Cars will give issues trust me. You don’t have to fix all, just the essential parts.

The parts you’ve fixed won’t go bad for a while. You have to harken your mind on this job. It’s not for the faint hearted.

Plz guys, I am sorry for interrupting the flow of discussion on the trade.

Let me start by saying good morning. I am based in Ph and want to relocate to either of Lagos or Abuja to start life afresh as things ain't going as they used to down here in PH.

A friend advised I sell off my 2002 Toyota Highlander and but a smaller car with less maintenance and fuel economy, so I can use it to go into uber in either of Lagos or Abuja.

I know I might not be able to get up to 1.5m on my Highlander, say I can be able to get like 1.2m on it and I don't have plans of where I can get more to add to it to be able to buy a car and have enough left to really hit the road in any of the cities.

Hence, I decided to come in here and seek for some advice from my brothers and possibly sisters who are already in the business. Please your kind advice and guidance is welcome.

Thanks

If the highlander is still sound, you can use it. No need selling it to buy something worse except you get a good deal

it all depend on where u start from. Where u reside. Me I do more than that every week cos I stay at gbagada. If u live at ikorodu, iyanoba igando and so on, it will be difficult to net 100k weekly.

Thank you for buttressing my point. You can make any amount regardless of where you live tho. You just need to know when to move.

MERCHANDISER:
yes sir

Not sure this particular one will fly

MERCHANDISER:
can this motorcycle sinoki sk150 be used for opay

If it's up to 200 cc, sure. Or you mean this particular one?

Buynowautos:
Yh

Nothing beats peace of mind.

Is it really a good idea to display ones earnings in public like this? There's a bit of security risk and danger associated to this, if you ask me. It leaves other drivers prone to attack by thieves, police and other security agents. A novice in this game may clap for this without knowing what the real deal is. Na Naija we still dey oo! Especilly for those that work at night.

The display of earnings is completely to show off and 'buga' others.

I passed a message with the display. Apply accordingly to how it affects you.

Buynowautos:
Wow, what a day rain dulling things all roads flooded.

Got bashed by an okada rider at oniru.

Sorry about this. Is your car comprehensively insured?

eherbal:
they've come again.they keep coming out of the woodwork

Lol. It’s not much bro. People make more.

Position well. Know when to max out and also when to tap out. Feed well and drive carefully.

If you put in the work, you'll reap the benefits. Work SMART

Any seller has the right to sell his item at any price, even higher than CV. Your thinking approach towards this is flawed, deal hunters spend a lot on data.. Lot of time to negotiate deals, stay up most nights, lose cash too to failed pickups, most deal hunters too don't buy in bulk (which is where regular importers cut down cost price to gain profit) Sometimes, item arrives and comes up issue not advertised by seller, hence you have to fix and definetly have to raise price a little to accommodate losses.
So if a seller lists his item for a certain amount and it doesn't fall to your preference, move on..
Not yen yen.. Are you in CV!

You have not been paying attention

jeromedee:
I talk am. So na the level wey dem wan carry am enter be this? Those wey no dey comfortable with all pickup threads make dem leave biko. But say make dem close all pickup threads, from where to where. These threads have come to stay, if the threads no be favour you again, no be anybody's fault, so far e dey favour others.
If threads are closed down, how are those who depends on deals being posted supposed to get deal? Especially those whose source of incomes are deals gotten from same threads y'all asking to be closed down.

Abeg once again if you no dey comfortable, please leave. Afterall you get pickers contacts, if you don buy your deals allow dem enter naija and sell, and if y'all pickers decide to follow go telegram, bye bye.

Even with the telegram, we don sabi the level wey una wan go.

Oga dragnet, no close the thread, if not, common man wey been dey see small change for the same threads go suffer all coz of some ppl selfish interest.

The topic of discussion is both tiring and painful. Greed has taken over.

I want to buy a phone on the thread, you will be calling price and saying that’s how they sell it in CV. Are you in CV? Do you have a shop there abi I no sabi CV before I carry my two left legs come here.

Man is always trying to be the very thing that he detests. Falz is right. We are all hypocrites.

wizzy89:
Like dealhunter suggested, making TLC deals a standalone thread or taking it back to Pickers (Mikky, Lionlee, Daaz et al) thread while Already in Nigeria deal owners should simply create their own thread but also most importantly having that price benchmark so dem lowballers know we ain't here to count bridges.

Price benchmark makes it regulated. Sell at your best price!

How can you even talk about benchmarks when prices can crash at anytime.

Na everything naija dey use form cartel. Instead make una dey bridge the gap, una wan dey form greedy say profit no reach.

You want to sell like CV when you’re not paying rent, electricity, security etc

Close down what you met? If it was closed down, would y’all have had the opportunities so far presented by the thread?

This place is a marketplace. Buyers are allowed to offer any price they deem fit for goods they want. It’s your choice to agree or disagree to their prices.

How can you want to control price like say you dey pay union fee.

Simply order your goods, if it comes, advertise and sell!
